Ce numéro est ok, ils appel suite à une demande de carte que j'ai fais dernièrement . C'est pour vérifier certaines informations de sécurité avant d'envoyer la carte par la poste.

I just got a call from that number on my cell. Next to no one has that cell number; just banks, government and mom. I phoned back. It took awhile to get served. I had applied for a cc recently. They gave me $2000 grand in credit. So that's what happened.

This is MBNA's M.O. When you pay off a credit card and show a 0 balance the credit department calls to offer you an advanced sum deposited into any bank acct. with a low interest rate for about 3 or 4 months and after that it goes to the regular rate. it's a scam to get you back in debt paying their f***ing interest rates monthly.
I paid off my card and not even 3 days later these a**holes were calling me, so knowing full well that they tape the call conversations "for training purposes" I told the telemarketer to give their MBNA bosses a message and it was to go f**k themselves and that they will never earn a dime from me again because I planned to pay off the card every time before the payment date arrived.
This is what these motherF***ers do, don't fall for their bs

It's a legitimate call. I did received a few letters from them previously regarding a credit card, never really did a follow up. They called me at home to offer the said credit card and I did accept it. They called me back because they needed to validate a few information, they didn't ask me about my SIN number but they asked me other questions and everything went fine. I should be receiving the card in the next 5 to 10 business day. So basically I'm waiting right now but I feel no concern about it.
I'll write back once I'll have received the said card. Worst case, I'm getting my identity theft.

I received a call and got the same message. I called MBNA from http://www.mbna.ca/contact_index.html and the guy said the # 1-877-793-6709 IS an MBNA # and its ok to call to verify credit card

Got the same thing claiming to be from MBNA (the bank i think) it gives me a ref number and a toll free number to call them back on. I'M NOT EVEN A MEMBER OF THAT BANK OR ANYTHING LIKE IT! This must be a scam to get you to call them back at a premium rate number or some people may even hand over there bank details. Don't do it! if you thin it is your bamk then go in a see them in person.
No bank would ever call you up like this surely?

you apparently applied for a credit card and they are calling you to get more information..
tom jones 2011-06-06 21:04:49 Unknown

James 2011-06-06 21:04:49 Unknown
Calls at least every other day.
Nomi 2010-11-02 20:23:30 Unknown
It is a call from MBNA, if you applied to any credit card and want to keep the card, you need to call back.
Credit Applyer 2010-10-13 20:41:59 Unknown
This was MBNA who approves credit card applications. Not spam or unauthorized caller. It's okay to call them back, you can refuse their credit approval process if you want.

I applied for credit card at Shoppers Drug Mart too and I got written answer I'm not eligible to get it. After 1 month I'm receiving every day call with the same message like Dan. I'm not crazy and I'll never call back.
Rara 2010-07-27 17:31:49 Unknown
Same here, applied for credit card at Shoppers. I definitely won't be providing my SIN number.
same story 2010-07-23 14:48:15 Unknown
my story is the same as the others - applied at a Shoppers Drug Mart - I don't think I'll be calling back.
Torontian 2010-05-25 18:33:29 Unknown
Same message as "Dan" posted.
Upon calling back, guy mentioned it is for a credit card I applied at Shoppers Drug Mart and they couldn't pull my credit records and asked for SIN. I declined to give any information over the phone and he mentioned he will leave the application as it was.

I had signed up for a credit card at an NHL hockey game to get free stuff. They wanted more information... I just canceled the application.
