If you have a BOA account or any BOA products or did not opt out of them calling you, then they can call you even if you are registered with "Do not call list".  This applies to any organization that you have a business relationship with.  Check out the Do Not Call website to see all the people and orgs are exempt from restrictions.

I get calls from (800) Service, which is 877-793-7169 several times a day, every day. No one ever leaves a message. I called back and got a voice message for 'Bank of America'. A recorded voice stated, "Thank you for calling Bank of America. From time to time we offer products and services that we think may be of interest and value to you. If you have questions regarding this call press '1'. Thank you for calling Bank of America. Bye."

By pressing '1' you will get this message --

"If you would like further info about the call you received we will attempt to call you back. If you like to be placed on the Bank of America "do not call" list using the key pad on your touch tone phone, please enter your ten digit code on your telephone beginning with the area code."

I am already on the national "Do Not Call" list so why do I have to list BOA separately? Sounds suspicious to me and it sounds like they are begging for business. However, I will never do business with Skank of America -- they are crooks and among the worst bank in the nation. Write for a free federal report (under the Freedom of Information Act) to see for yourself.

I finally called the number back and it is Bank of America, I requested that my number be placed on the Do Not Call list for their products - they stated it will be in effect after 30 days- all this was done on an automated system, I did not speak to a live person

I got a caller ID call from these people, likely for the guy who had this number before me.

No further information.  As a matter of course I report all unwanted calls at the FTC Web Site.  Our outoging message states the prior guy who had this line is not here and we do not know his whereabouts.

Let them explain to the FTC.  Damn ATT for not keeping numbers dead long enough before reassigning them.  I've also got calls from the LDS church and other unamed parties.

I received call from this number at 9:57am. Female voice asked for me by name, when I confirmed and asked who is calling she responded "Bank of America" and hung up. I called back and line is busy. My search on internet shows that number is "not valid".
I notified Bank of America about this incident. They advised not to give any information.

I received a call yesterday at around 8 pm Eastern. A lady asked for someone. I told her that person wasn't there. She asked if she had the wrong number. I asked who she was. She told me she'd call back another time and hung up on me. Sounds like a bill collector to me.

Attention EVERYONE- If you do business with Bank of America, being on the National "Do Not Call" Registry means nothing to them.  Organizations that you do business with are allowed to contact you.

I called this number back and got the same message as CK.  I entered my number to be removed from their calling list.  We'll see if it works... automated recording says it could take up to 30 days.

I haven't dropped my account due to this, but I did go to their site yesterday, and found the privacy options and opted out of phone calls from them, and from my info being shared with others. I suppose I'll know in a month or so if this worked.

I have a BOA credit card and I just called them to cancel my card because of the constant phone calls 3 and 4 times a day, 7 days a week from several different phone numbers.  It's ALWAYS Bank of America.  Apparently being on the Do Not Call list doesn't apply if the call is coming from a company where you are a customer.  Well then, now I am not a customer.  I don't know if it will stop the calls or not but at least I can take some comfort in taking my business away from them.
