Received a call from this number (Caller ID: Toll Free Caller) while I was taking a shower.  When I found out who it was, I blocked the number from ever calling me again.

Don't blame the health care law.  This is the private sector hard at work.

Nobody that receives calls at home is obligated to answer the phone, so if it's a toll-free number I typically didn't answer for years. Now, however, I answer. If they ask me to call them back, to enter any information, to push any buttons, I typically hang up. If not, I will tell the person on the other end that I would be happy to call them back at their number, as I am busy at the moment. They usually won't allow that but will ask a good time for them to contact me again. I tell them that this is their only chance, and if they don't wish to speak to me now, to please take me off their list. Only then will they tell me they are debt collectors. I have had over $3million in surgeries for cancer over the past 3 years and pay what I can, when I can, so at that point I let them know that I'll get around to them once I have some money, but in the meantime (and this is very important) I insist that they send me an itemized list of exactly ow much I owe to whom, for what services, on what date, at which facility, by whose authority, etc. I tell them that my attorney has advised me to do so...otherwise I will not be able to pay them anything because there are too many scam artists out there claiming I owe $$. Only by providing me with this list will I have proof that they are an actual legitimate collection agency.

I usually never hear back from them....too much work for them. Unless they are legit...and you can be sure you'll get that list. Deal with these ones professionally and with courtesy. And be honest...plea to their sense of empathy, because most of them make minimum wage and have been in your shoes (debt) in the past.

Another hint...be extremely pleasant to them the first time they call. They're not used to it and it gets them off script. If they get belligerent, get their name, employee number and supervisors name and contact information and advise that you will be reporting them under the Fair Debt Collections Act. (Google it...it's an amazing tool that lets you know your rights...and you have more than they do!)

If you owe it and can pay it, do so. If you don't owe it or simply can't pay it (where am I going to get $3million?) at least have some fun with it...otherwise you'll be miserable thinking about it.

Horizon Financial Services trying to collect on a medical bill i just got 2 weeks ago.

Horizon Financial Management looking for someone who had my phone number seven years ago.  No matter how many times I beg these a***oles to take the number off the record, they keep passing it along.

got this one too. robot-call ..press one if you are so and so; give you three seconds to get off line as this is personal ... blah blah blah. Robot ID's itself as Horizon Financial ... never heard of them; those of us here are far from having any debt issues.

Let's  find out where these thieves are and, uh, go "talk" to them. apparently the 'law' isn't going to do anything about this. I think we can though.

Keeps calling my cellphone and telling me that the call is for Kim Chin and to hang up if I am not Kim Chin. So I hang up because I'm not Kim Chin. How can I get them to stop calling??

Debt Collector who keeps calling my number even after I told them repeatedly the party they are looking for is not at this number anymore, but they keep calling. I get a kick out of cussing them out though.

this number keeps calling my parents number leaving a message on the answering machine leaving a number to call to take their phone number off the list and a number for me to call. this is really getting on my nerves. i wish they would stop calling.

Debt collector

I got a phone call asking me to dial 1 if I was "Wilda Davis" (which I'm not). I hit 1 anyway. The representative was named Lisa and she asked me to confirm that I was in fact Wilda Davis. I asked who she was and she would not tell me until I confirmed my name... my conscience wouldn't allow me to lie anymore so I agreed with her that she probably had the wrong number. Shje said it was an issue of personal business and did not confirm a company name.

I got call from here but the message told me if I was the person they were calling to dial another number  219-738-5410 but no message as to who they are or why they called

A woman called. I answered. She took a moment to say, "Hello?" Then she asked for my mother. I told her she wasn't home. The woman then told me she needed to talk to her. I asked for why? And she only provided that it was "Very important" and this number. She came up as "Private Name" and "Private Number"

I work for a doctors office and someone from this number called and stated they was a patient calling about a bill. I called the number back and the gentleman by the name of Mike Sutter stated he lied was not a patient used that to get in touch with me.

Imagine it is a debt collector. She stated, "this is not a business call". Seems like business for someone...

I also recieved that voicemail from Jessica, I believe she is a debt collector. Before, she asked for my boyfriend, but somehow she got my number, so I think she is for some reason calling me to collect on my boyfriend's debt...Her number was blocked on my phone and came up as someting like 100000000, and just like the previous man's answer, asked me to call her back at 877-794-1003 ext 233.

Recived a called on my cell with the incomming number listed as 10000000000. I did not answer it but the caller left a voicemail. The call was from someone named Jessica. She was looking for someone I do not know. Jessica left the following phone number, 877-794-1003 x233.
