I just received a call at work AGAIN. I have told them previously I cannot take calls here. This time they said it was a financial fraud case against me (to the receptionist). When I took the call, they threatened to garnish my wages for 3 times the amount owed if I didn't make a payment. I told them that I have told them numerous times they cannot call my employment, and he replied with "This is a direct refusal then" I said "no, I said you cannot call me at this number". He asked for my cell phone number, and I told him they had it, and his response was "This is a direct refusal, your employer will be contacted for garnishment"

Got a call from this number (8777999234) stating that it was a time sensitive matter, and to call back. Came to this website to check it out and saw a lot of odd calls have come from this number, none of which seem legitimate. It is an automated message. They called a business (my job) so I thought it was a company that we were dealing with. Thank goodness I check these things. What a waste of time.

Another thread that explains in detail the deceptive and unfair business practices and tactics used by telemarketer and debt collector call centers. Their alliances, affiliations, networking make it to where no one knows who, what or where! Federal and State rules, regulations mean nothing to these predatory cowards. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Go to your lawyer or D.A.   Show them what you borrowed.  ask what the law allows them to charge.  or look it up on the internet.  sit down and figure up what you would legally owe.  go to small claims court and get a judgement allowing you to make small payments at no additional fees and a set small interest rate.   Or wait till you can pay it off all at one time , then go to court, show that you are making payment.  Then get the D.A. to send them a letter saying that is final payment, and to cease and desist.  send the cease and desist order to ALL the places that have been contacting you. wait 10 business days.  If you get a call after that , file criminal charges.

Whenever I get a call from Premiere Recovery Group, they call from 505-431-0602. I have the number blocked so it goes straight to voice mail. I got a female-voice recorded minute-long message giving a case number and saying I needed to call 877-799-9234 and give a personal statement about an alleged debt. In the message they say something about a representative/ loss litigation reviewer looking into something for their client. They said I need call back to respond or that my file would be given to their client without my personal statement being added. Said their recommendation to their client would be eminent, again I have no idea who their client is or what the alleged debt is. I'm not going to call them back about it, sounds like a phishing scam.

I received a threatening call from this number referring to a false file number. They said they were Revere Recovery Group and I had 24 hours to return this call if I was the persons name mentioned. They were going to sue me, due to lack of response back to them.  They don't tell me the name of the company, but it is PRG.
It is a scam.  The company they said I borrowed money from told me not to talk to them anymore and I referred the to the FCC.  They said I owed money from a company and never paid them back. I checked with that company and they said I didn't owe them anything.
They just want your personal infomation so they can scam you by claiming you won a prize!
877 799 9234 was the number and they have been threatening me for over a year and a half.

I got that same message today.  It was a guy calling me.  He said the same thing and left the same number to call back.  I have been receiving a lot of them lately on my work phone and all of them are asking for my using my old married name.  Last week, I called one of teh companies back and confronted them when they said they were going to server me a summons.  I spent an hour just calling the lady back over and over and over again.  She didn't like it and I have not received any calls from that so-called company since.

I received a message from this # stating that it was in regard to a business matter that I was conducting and they gave me the # 866-364-6516 to call back to.  Appears to be another round of so-called bill collectors trying to collect debts on what another company has already written off.

I received a message three times in the past week from this number and they are claiming I have 24 hours to respond to them because they have a case against me. They claim it to be a bounced check. I haven't used a check in a really long time and to top it off they are claiming it is my maiden name which I haven't gone by in over 10 years. This is ridiculous and people are outrageous. The person said her name was Alison Schneider or Sneider. No company name just that she works for a law firm and everytime she calls she leaves the exact same message word for word, sounds like a script to me. This is pissing me off and I dont like being pissed off.

Scam is it? I was told to call back to Ext 314 to Ms.  Anderson. Funny when you call there is not way to call that extension. You just leave a message.
