omg, thank god I checked online before giving these jerks more money, I was contacted by them before but was never able to reach them when I found them to be making unauthorized charges on my cc. I fell for it cause I had a debt I'd been worried about and figured that was catching up to me, but now I I don't know if my money even went toward it. The most recent call I got was this week from a Karen Redman at 18778007878 ex.1045; what's odd is that she left a voicemail with very little information about why she's calling and when I called the 877 number to speak to the 'operator' I was directed to her voicemail again. If this is a legitimate company, why is there no secretary? She called from a cell# 8312506126 to which I returned the call. She claimed to be going to a 'meeting' and will call me back, so I don't know what will happen.but I'll keep you updated

Received a call from 877-800-7878, extension 1024, and talked to Rebecca from All-State Insurance.  She had left a message asking to speak to someone else, and when I told her the phone number she called (my mobile number) was a U.S. government number, she stated she would remove the number from their database.

I got a called from them about one of my credit cards..well instead of requesting anything in writing..I set up a payment plan. I have paid a total of $755.35. I was told if I pay $166.00 that the account would be paid in full on May 28th 2010. So I did, received a fax stating it was paid in full from a "Scott Stevens". Well this Scott contacted from a cell phone that showed up in Virginia (540-854-1686) saying I still owed another $166.00. I requested everything in writing, he said he couldn't do that and if I didn't pay it ..they would turn it over to the D.A. in Nevada..I said well do what you gotta do. He said I would never be able to open another checking account again...I have put my bank account on hold, changed phone numbers, called and filed a complaint with the FTC. She told me not to talk them again..and to file another complaint with Nevada BBB. So if I haven't even been paying on this card where is all my money..I am just sick and feel so stupid for not requesting anything in writing from the beginning

Received a call from my land line and went directly to my answering machine. The caller asked for my wife, and identified herself as Rebecca from Allstate Corporate office, and asked my wife to call her back at 1-877-800-7878, ext 1024, with a case number 4319505. I called my Allstate agent and he told me the case number is too short, and told me to be cautioned if we are going to call. I googled the 877 number, and look like we are not the only one get targeted. It surely looks like a scam.

The caller was a recorded message saying they are NOT a collection agency and have an important message for me. I immediately plugged their number into Google... I know they are not allowed to misrepresent themselves in anyway and NO, they are not allowed to call you at work ever!!!--tell them you will report them! People; don’t let these collection agencies push you around. And don’t forget to look up your own states law on the statues of limitations for a debit. In California the statue is 4 years—meaning, I don’t have to pay them a dime. If your debt passed this 4 year mark and you do pay them, the clock starts all over again. The statue does not mean they have to cease their efforts, but if they take you to court and you inform the judge that the statue has passed, he will throw the suit out! The collection agencies know this and will often stop calling once you mail them a letter citing the statue.

Some man named George Johnson called and was extremely rude.  He told me I owed money that I didn't owe.  He refused to listen to me and told me there was no room for discussion.  He said I had to pay today or he would send it to the credit bureaus.  He told me he was writing me as a refusal to pay which was not the case and I kept reminding him that I only wanted more information and he kept telling me I was refusing to pay and he was reporting it on my fica score.  After the conversation with him, Scott Stevens called.  He left me a message saying that he heard the whole conversation and for me to call him back to discuss it.  He made it sound like he was going to explain things to me.  No, all he did was continue to harass me and tell me I didn't need to talk to anyone else because I was in collections.  I tried to inform him that I needed more information because this was the first I was to hear about this.  He kept telling me I was giving him the run-around.  He refused to give me any information about the so called debt.  I was not impressed with these people who say they work for Allstate Corporation.  I keep trying to find them online and there is nothing.  Please give me information about these people if you have anything.  Where do I report this behavior?

So, a Karen Redmond called my cell phone saying that I had a past due balance from Steinberg Diagnostic and was demanding a full payment + an additional $50 "credit removal fee"...? It didn't sound good to me since, I always pay my bills on time & besides, $50 "credit removal fee"????? I told her I was gonna call her back & then I came straight to Google & found this webpage. I am contacting the REAL Steinberg Diagnostic company to see if they received my payment and to see what's going on...but this is really disturbing and very scary...how did they get my name? the name of this company that I had used? and my phone number????????
I'm scared!!!

A Douglas Diamond contacted my father and left his message on the answer machine.. He stated that he is an attorney for Allstate and filing a claim in a San Diego court on the behalf of my father whether he talks to him or not.  He left his number( 877)8007878 x 1047 and a case number. I haven't checked to see if there is a pending case in San Diego County re: that number but I can almost guarantee there isn't one.

Spoke to a Mike today. I told him I tried calling them at the # 1-866-508-1877 but the phone just kept on ringing.  I told him a Karen Redmond left me a message and to return her call 1-877-800-7878 ext 1045. I then told him I stopped payment for them because I have not received any information in the mail like who the creditor was? How much my balance was? When will it be all paid off? He started to say the address they have on file which was wrong. When I told him how come no one did not contact me. He said they did not send a return address. I then asked him could I get a copy of  all my payments.  He told me you have to have a fax #.  I told him I did not have one but I do have an e-mail. He then said go get a lawyer and we will see you in court.  He was very rude.

A relative of mine who doesn't speak/understand English very well has been harassed by this collection agency for several months.  I finally spoke to someone on her behalf who, although he was nice, still provided false and misleading information.  The woman my relative had been dealing with was rude, harassing, and threatening.  I immediately settled the bill with the original creditor and called Allstate Financial and requested to speak with the rep with whom my relative was dealing and told her I was reporting her and her company to my AG and the FTC for harassment and deceptive practices under the FDCPA.  She transferred me to someone who replied with "big deal" and told me I was "wasting my time" and that there are "thousands of complaints from people who have nothing better to do".  I encourage everyone who has been threatened, lied to, and deceived by this company to file a complaint with the FTC and your states AG.

Received a call from a person named Karen, who must have been calling from her own phone. She was looking for someone who lived at the number called and said she was calling for Credit One.

I didn't know they could call on the weekend.

This will just go sit with the other calls from this number.

I have to say the person was nice but, call on the weekend doesn't win her any points.

Continue to get annoying, automated calls from "Allstate Financial Services" saying "This is a personal business alert".... for and part of my name. The recording calls at least once a week for more than 3 months. I intend to hunt them down and sue for harrassment and all the minutes they keep using on my cell phone. Are you kidding me?! Your Company Sir operates under illegal and unethical practices! You threaten, harass and break every single FDCPA law!! ( find those laws at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm )

Your agents, (who always give phoney false names like Steve Stevens, Jim Morrison, Dusty Diamond, Cindy Cinders, Pam Principal, Billy Bob) have threatened me and my family with violence and arrest. I have filed formal complaints against this company.... DO NOT give anyone calling from Allstate Financial Services ANY bank or CC info!!!! They will take out unauthorized money, cash post-dated checks they talk you into sending them, and clean out your bank account making unauthorized charges multiple times. Any Collections Agency that is harassing you.. ask for their business License #. If they do not give it.. they are operating illegally.

IF you are harassed by this company start by calling Catherine Cortez Masto (D)

I'm currently getting calls from this number stating they want to speak to the parents of and the recorded message say our last name, which means nothing to me; but still it bugs me.They're trying to collect from people that owe nothing to no one. If you really owe something to someone, they usually send you couple of letters first, then they start calling. To me this is a scam!!!!!  the question is, How can we prevent this scamers from calling your house?

Allstate Financial Services must be mining old debts--someone used my # (not just for bills, I get calls from guys she didn't want to date, but didn't want to stop the free drinks from coming either I guess) and they have been haunting my phone # for years--I used to call and explain that they had the wrong number, but every couple of years I start getting calls again.

Just got a call from these people on my cell phone and was unfamiliar with the number.  Same jargon - not a sales call but we have an important message for you.  Looked the number up on your site and then called from a landline to find out it is a collection agency.  Funny thing - I don't owe anyone anything . . . I hung up before I spoke with anyone.

they misrepresent themselves for sure! Given their name, Allstate, they left me a message regarding my insurance 'claim', referred to a past conversation(never had one) and left a phone# and 'claim #". One problem besides their illegal tactics, I don't have Allstate Insurance. They're collectors for a Providian Visa credit card account that was paid off 6-7 years ago in a refi.  They are certainly rude!

Caller was a recording and stated that it was not a collection or survey and had important medical information for me. I had to push one to speak to an operator. This guy came on and wanted to know why I had called him. I told him you called me and then he asked for my tellephone number. Well if he called me then he knew my number. Then told me I had a collection notice on a unpaid debt. Which was a lie. I have stated before that I class these people in the lowere than human life form and should be treated that way. They have laws to protect us but they seem to get around them anyway. To someone who is disabled these calls are terrible.
