I have a stack of paper about an inch thick with my complaints to the FCC. They won't do anything. That would require actually doing work.
I have also been getting texts from a "bank". I called the bank and they said it was a scam and they were trying to get it taken care of.
I called all of the businesses from the faxes and requested to be removed. One nice woman informed me that they have direct access to their fax list on their computer and said she was deleting me as we spoke.
I do like the sound of the attorney route, though. I am logging all calls and communications while I wait to see what happens with future faxes. If this persists, then I will persue an attorney.

Just received another one from the same company described in the preceeding posts. The phone number to be removed on my fax reads: 877-527-2354. It's automated, asking you to enter your fax number. Hope this helps all of us!

Dear MJ,
The same reason the police allow burglaries? The FCC can only help deter people, they don't control people. They're not 'allowing' anyone one to do anything, it's the criminals that are ignoring the FCC and doing whatever the hell they want. C'mon now.... use your head.
| MJ 2010-06-09 19:40:05 Fax Machine |
my question is, WHY IN THE HELL DOES THE FCC ALLOW PHONE NUMBER SPOOFING?!?! Allowing these idiots to change their caller ID to any bogus number they feel like is only making criminal activities easier to accomplish. What possible reason should ANYONE have for hiding their phone number??? Unless you're up to no good.

I just called them back and informed them that I would set my computer to autodial their toll-free number every 60 seconds around the clock until the spamming stopped. Hopefully they'll take my warning to heart...

For those of you that are getting settlements, I would love the name/number of these attorneys that are going after these people.
| Blondeartist444 2010-01-12 14:44:11 Unknown |
You can also retain an attorney to go after these unauthorized fax blasters. No cost to you, attorney's staff does the work and sometimes you get lucky and receive a settlement. My largest was $400 so far, smallest was $150, but it is better than just being annoyed at the blasters.

I retained an attorney to go after these fax blasters and have collected about $1,000 in restitution from the unauthorized parties...he does the work, I just mail the unsolicited faxes to him.

Today (12/14/2009) the number to call for "health insurance" is 1-866-800-0916. The number to call to be removed (actually added to a thousand new junk faxes) is 877-519-2637. The scam is the same as others described here. There is no indication of the actual phone number that sent this fax. The website www.stop-faxes.com is cited.

Junk fax advertising bogus health care coverage. The only way to get this stopped is to file FCC complaints. The FCC will only pursue these complaints if they get enough people filing. Save all your faxes and file FCC complaints.

i guess we all have received junk faxes form these lying leaches. get on the F.C.C. complaint internet line and file a complain. pain is the a**- yes, but just bitching doesn't get it done--file the complaint. it is a start, and it gives you bitching rights!

We get daily junk faxes from this number. They try to get your credit card number for bogus "Health Insurance" that's very low cost, but nonexistent. I tried going to www.stop-faxes.com as they suggest to get off the junk fax list, but only started getting more junk faxes. Stay far away from these criminals!
By the way, don't waste time contacting the FCC. They will do absolutely nothing to stop this. Most of the companies are off-shore. Our government at work. LOL!

I have one line that is designated as a fax line. Twice now in the past month, the latest being 9-24-09, I have received an unwanted fax from this "company" for health insurance. No company name on the ad other than a phone number 877-280-8277 and a website www.stop-taxes.com to supposedly remove your number from their list. I tried going to the site and my pc showed "error on page". I have my phone numbers all listed with the do not call list. I do not want solicitors in any way, shape or form!
