I just received notification of an 8 days and 7 nights cruise to the Caribbean including airfare for two adults with Royal Caribbean.  Of course, we must attend a 90 minute presentation. Grand Travel Worldwide and/or Island Trader Vacations are presenting the sales pitch for a "travel club".  Has anyone heard of this particular solicitation?

The address Patricia Smith used (1356 Holly Ave, Holly Hill, fl) belongs to Margaret Sciara per County records, as of 7/26/2013. This indeed is a scam.

Got the letter from "Patricia Smith" with an address of 1356 Holly Ave. in Holly Hill, Florida.  If you Google Map it, satellite picture view, you will find that there is a house in what appears to be a very low income neighborhood with an address of 1354 and then the next one is 1358 - 1356 Holly Ave. doesn't exist.  Plus they know that the people in that neighborhood don't have the resources to fight back if someone comes looking for them.  So many scams all from one letter.  Shred.

The reality is, the bigger they are the harder they fall.  One day it will happen just not anytime soon.  This website in case you missed it (www.thecaribbeancruisescam.com), shows a sneak peek "behind the scenes" activity about  the scam.  YES it?s a scam according to Attorney Generals across the nation.  Don't take our word for it.  FBI calls it a scam too!  ALL THE RESEARCH IS RIGHT HERE AND YOU CAN MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND IF YOU THINK THIS IS A SCAM OR NOT.  We just make it easier to make that determination.  We encourage other independent researching but the results are always the same.
Just remember they?ve already broken the law with the telemarketing call in the first place to gain your business.  We?re trying to start up the biggest class action against them.  Everyone is entitled to up to $1500.00 per incident from the illegal robo-calls.  Why are they still doing it?  Nobody is taking action- until NOW!  Band together and support www.thecaribbeancruisescam.com today .  Enjoy the site.

Remember- we are only concerned about the cruise/timeshare package "deal".  We are uninterested about what happends when booking the boat directly- the reason why some positive feedback exists.

Also got a letter from Mary Evans, and inside was a letter written on Travelocity letterhead, saying we would recieve two round trip airline tickets, and two night stay at a hotel, a rent a car and a $50 Travelocity Hotel Cash Card.   Called the travelocity 800 number directly from their website, and they said they have nothing to do with it.   Also went to zillow.com and punched in the "Mary Evans" address at 1005 River Knoll Drive in Holly Hill, Florida 32117.  If you pull up the birds eye view, it is a crappy little house in a crappy little neighborhood.

My letter from "Mary Evans," 1005 River Knoll Drive, Holly Hill, FL was on Norwegian Cruise Lines letterhead and promised a "complimentary 7-day / 6 Night cruise for two, and a bonus of two round trip airfares.  It looks like in our difficult economic time Ms. Evans has quite a few jobs giving away "free" things.  Spare me!!!

I also received a letter from Mary Evans with the Holly Hill return address soon after I had been on Travelocity's website looking for flights. The top of the letter had Travelocity's logo and stated that because I received this letter I would receive 2 complimentary round-trip tickets on a major airline, plus a 3-day/2-night getaway at a major hotel. It also stated that if I called within 72 hours I'd receive a 3 day car rental and a $50 cash card. The number I was given to call was 877-542-5079 with offer code 2372.
I have always heard that if an offer sounds too good to be true it probably is. So needless to say, I didn't call. I would suggest, however, that you forward your letter to your local Postal Inspection Service for investigation.

I got the same exact letter today, except the phone number to call toll free is 1 (877)592-2833 and the offer code number was different. I just got online to search the return address to see what came up. I also notice that on the back of the letter, at the bottom, in tiny print it says "Certain restrictions apply. Call for details of participation. This promotion is not sponsored by or affiliated with Norwegian Cruise Lines, but they are a major supplier. Recipient is responible for any applicable deposits, port charges, taxes and/or fees. While supplies last." I won't be making a phone call, either!

Although, I did not purchase what they were offering, I still came out with a great gift that only cost
me a small amount of time.    Well Worth it.

Diane,
You are not a loser!  You were duped!  A BIG difference!

I'm quoting you below: "She said we don't get the money back..." I'm thinking you are out some money, and if you are out money to this scam, no matter how much, GO TO THE POLICE and report it!

If I'm off base and all you have lost is your, and your husband's time (he really loves you if he went with you - a good person in my book - and, I'm not that perfect as I wouldn't go with my husband if he brought me a "deal" like this), chalk it up to experience, but STILL REPORT the ATTEMPTED SCAM to the POLICE!

In either scenario above, provide the police with the exact location of the 90 minute session and a copy of the instructions that they had you follow; what you found out when you followed the instructions; what the purported name and physical description of the presenter was; and, any other specific details you can remember.  They might be able to track who rented the space and paid for it; they might be able to use face-recognition software to ID the presenter... you never know what they can do, but you have to PUSH THEM!

From your email, there any number of criminal and civil infractions you hint at.  Criminal would be obtaining private information via deception - police will handle.  Civil would be deceptive advertising - you'll need to hire a consumer lawyer.  The first place I check when I receive letters like the free Android Tablet Computer letter that I just received today is the Florida Corporation Registration website at: http://search.sunbiz.org/Inquiry/CorporationSearch/SearchResults/EntityName/  - btw, CCD Research, LLC is NOT a registered company in the state of Florida.  Then I go to Google where good people like y'all fill me in!

I've successfully, if temporarily, shut down a person like this through a civil judgment in small claims court.  I got a $ judgment 4 me (note the one (1) Dollar sign - it denotes the $300+ I was out of pocket for my time), but I can't collect because she skipped.  I believe the shut-down is only temporary because these people don't change, they just move.

I wonder if any of the people posting on this thread live close to Holly Hill, FL, and can play along by attending the session to get video of the presenter - I'd bet she's Mary Evans (if that's her true name!).  Then video could be posted on You Tube and possibly go viral!

Keep your chin up, Diane!  Resolve NOT TO FALL FOR THESE SCAMS in the future.  Then, shake it off, plan  a special night for your husband and you!  Apologize and thank him for supporting you!  Tell him what your learned.  Then, DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE RESPONDING IN THE FUTURE!  Cheers to surviving a life experience!

Got the letter with the Royal Caribbean logo.
I did call just out of curiosity realizing it is a scam.
They want your income info right on the phone and when you go to the appointment you need to bring photo ID and a creditcard. If that does not raise the hairs on your neck what does!!!!
They have called twice already to remind us about this. Of course we will not go.
The letter looks very unprofessional, I wonder if R C knows their logo is being used for this purpose.

I googled Emerald Coast travel. It came up with an address in Gulf breeze, FL  but NO phone # or website. Don't you think a travel agency would have a phone#??????

Just my thoughts.

Same letter from CCD Research, LLC with 888-986-8173 phone number..  Thinking about filing a mail fraud complaint.   I assume it would apply to Mary Evans and her letter.

for MARY:  There is a misspelled word on the letter.  You're not even listed on the deed at the house in Holly Hill.

Got the same Travelocity letter (although the phone number on it was (877) 343-5833).  The return address is the same as what others have noted: 1005 River Knoll Drive in Holly Hill, Florida from Mary Evans.  I get 2 roundtrip tickets plus 2-nights in a hotel.  And BONUS, if I call in next 48 hours I get $50 Travelocity Card too.

Enjoy your stay in my recycle bin, Mary.

Thank you to EVERYONE who takes the time to post about these frauds.

I received a letter today from Mary Evans on a Norwegan Cruise Line letterhead.
I have been chosen... Yada, yada, yada.

But if I call within 72 hours, I will also receive 2 round trip airfares.

This scam has been traveling around for a couple of years.

I guess there enough people who fall for this scam to make it worthwhile to keep it going.

If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

recieved the Android promotion and noticed misspelled words typical of scams.  I work at a federal prison where all our phones ID are blocked. I think I will call them from my office and have it sent to our  recieving warehouse, I can feel the FUN coming on.  I once kept a car scam going on for 6 months.  It,s a great way to spend your lunch break :-)

I received a letter from this Mary Evans today, her letterhead is from CCD Research, LLC, in this letter she says she is inviting my household in a study and promotion, for my participation I will receive a FREE Android Tablet Computer.  Once I have received and tested it they ask that I complete the brief survey that they enclosed with the letter.

Whether I complete the survey or not, the Android Tablet is mine to keep and under no obligation to pay, purchase or subscribe, no shipping or handling cost to me.
then she gives the 888-986-8173 and a code number which I am not including in this report.

Of course I will not respond to this, JUST SHARING INFORMATION LIKE ALL OF YOU.  Thank you to all who posted about this Mary.
