I too received a message to call this number after applying for a job.  I was initially told that the interview could take up to 45 minutes, however after a brief review of my information the call ended after just 7 minutes.  The call ended with the interviewer focusing on my incomplete college degree, and whether I intended on completing my degree in the future.  I felt the call had at that point deteriorated from an interview and had become a sales call at best or a fishing scam at worst.  I would not recommend calling this number as they claim they can give no information about the alleged job.

Googled this number and got several sites.  All have the identical questions and comments, but with different poster names.  If it's legit, why would they plant all these phony posts?  Smells like a SCAM!

Yeah, but is there really a job available OR is this a way to get a ton of people in the application pool. If so, this is very misleading. We all applied because there was a posting for an actual job. In this down economy if is very unscrupulous to lead people to think there is a job when there is not and you just do it to have a large database of applicants.
So which is it? a real job OR to fill quotas??

This number is part Careers. I am a representative of Careers and would love to fill you in on what we do. Often you'll see one of our numbers on the end of a job application or during it, this is simply for the employer to gain the benefits of having a qualified pool of applicants. When you call in, we ask you to confirm your information and some additional qualifying questions, if any, that are required to fill the position. The process only takes a few minutes and then you're done.

I am very happy you posted this detailed account. The same thing happened to me just now. I sent them a resume and cover letter with all my information on it; just to be re-directed to a screen which said my application wouldn't be processed unless i called 1-877-779-3189. I did not call after searching the number out and reading your post. Even though my application "won't be processed", i bet i start to receive spam emails and/or calls. It's just really sad that there are people that prey on people like myself who really needs to find works soon. it's hard enough finding a legitimate job, let alone dealings withe those kind of jokers.

Employment Scam

Complaint Rating:
Company information:
Harris Solutions Group
United States
Phone: 1-877-779-3189
harrissolutionsgroup.com

I applied for a receptionist position with this company after seeing their job listing on CareerBuilder.com. I was redirected to their website where I was asked for personal information (name, address, phone numbers, education, etc.) After supplying this information, I was provided with a phone number to call (1-877-779-3189) in order to be "pre-screened" by a representative or given the option to set up a time that was more convenient for me. I chose to go ahead and call the number even though I was expected at my daughter's Open House in an hour. I thought it wouldn't take long to verify my information with a representative, but I was mistaken. I was on hold for 45 minutes while I listened to the same recording about application tips over and over. I finally had to end the call. I clicked on the link to contact them through their website and realized there was no other way except to email them through their site. I wrote them explaining what had happened and asked that they contact me regarding the position.

When I returned home from the Open House, I noticed they hadn't contacted me by phone or email so I decided to call them back since they were in a later time zone and would still be available. This time when I called, a man answered. After asking my cell phone number, he explained that this "pre-screening" process would take about 45 minutes to complete. I neglected to tell him that they had already wasted 45 minutes of my time because I am desperate for work. He proceeded to have me verify the information I had previously provided. He asked what my highest level of education was and I replied that I had just completed my Bachelor's degree this month. He asked if I was currently enrolled. This is the part in the conversation where my hopes at this turning into a real job crumbled. I knew where he was going and he certainly did indeed went there. His next question was "Do you have any plans to attend school in the future?"

This company's techniques are extremely similar to Johnson & Armel. This is obviously a bait-and-switch scam. The company pretends to be an employment agency and lists fake job postings that are vague on requirements. Once you send them your information, they spend 45 minutes telling you about how you can increase your job opportunities by getting an education or returning to school. They say that they will pass your information along to the employer, but in all honesty, there never was an employer to begin with. For those candidates eligible to attend school, they are then transferred to an online school representative.

Needless to say, I asked the representative at Harris Solutions Group to remove all of my information from their system. He didn't even hesitate before agreeing or ask why the change of heart and that was the end of our conversation. It was also the end of their credibility as an employment recruiter. Please take my advice and avoid this company at all costs.

I wish all of my fellow job seekers luck as they try to navigate through agenices such as this who prey on the desperate during these trying economic times.

Just got off the phone with one of the representatives, they just verified information about if I was an US citizen, Over 18, if I was currently Employed, About my Schooling, If I wanted to go back to school...
It was very easy and a total of 2mins..

The only thing that concerns me is they had no information on the employer. Also that she said it could take up to 25mins for the interview over the phone.. It only took 2 mins so does that mean my application is no good:(

I remember applying for a job, but if it's legit, why can't they leave a message instead of texting me? Plus I wouldn't give them my information over the phone because they should already have it from the resume...so this sounds very fishy. Anyone else have any ideas?
