I have two theories:
1.  English is not always their first language
2.  They are not very intelligent.  If they were they would be able to get a better job -- one that does not involve breaking the law and trying to scam people.  Seems as though even McDonald's wouldn't want to hire them!

A related question is why so many of them seem to have a broken caps-lock key.  (As if "shouting" is going to get their point across better -- quite the opposite in reality!)

Why is it the scammers/shills/etc. can never, ever spell correctly?

Global is a debt collection agency.  Their actions are ILLEGAL per the Fair Debt Collections Act.  Do your research on this law and when the Global agency thugs call let them have it.  For every violation Global representatives make during thoes phone calls you can take them to court and receive financial penalties from them.  As they violate the law MANY times during typical calls you could end up with substantial $$$$!

DO NOT:
1)  admit to owing any debts
2)  agree to pay anything
3)  provide any personal information

I received a phone call (warning that I would be served) much like what you all are reporting. When I called back, I was told I owe money to a company that does not even have a location in my state. This first time I called, I spoke to a woman who described herself as a "glorified receptionist." She told me who I supposedly owed money to and for how much. She offered to transfer me (when I told her I was confused and needed more information) but I was on my lunch so I told her I would call back later. When I called back later in the day I spoke to Brian. When he saw I had called earlier he seemed annoyed that I was still asking for information. He said that "I already knew everything." When I told him that the call and debt didn't make sense, he asked for my social security number. I said, "I'm not giving you my social security number." He replied, "Then I can't help you ma'am, go ahead and get served," and hung up on me. I called back again and when I asked for the full name of the company so that I could register a complaint, he said "Go ahead, it's Global," and hung up on me again. This is obviously not legit. I am planning on investigating this throughly.

I received a call from Global, I was informed that I had charges filed against me! They threatened to serve me court documents...but never waited to get my address to "serve me." This is for a payday loan from a few years ago, WHICH I PAID! I requested documents be sent to me so that I may pay any debts I OWE...but they stated that they cannot because that may jeopardize the case???

They left harrassing VOICE MAIL MESSAGES, and continue to insist I settle this case out of court; This is a Scam!

Got a call today from these scammers about my son. Don't give them any info. They are out there to scare people enough so a person would give money to them.

These people will not do anything. It is simply a scare tactic. I had a guy call my job over a month ago said he was coming to serve me. I said since I have no clue who you are, then please come and serve me and at least I will have documentation and he seemed shocked and said "You want me to serve you instead of you calling the company to resolve?" I said yes, serve me. He said ok and haven't heard from "Johnny Walker" since.

These people need to not threaten me over my voicemail, they do not even have my last name correct.

Yep got one today totally bogus Max was hid name I called back and there was no one to talk to.
This is some sort of scam I called the Police and if I can find out who and where they are I will press  charges against them.

Received message from Sam Fisher that I'm being served but have no outstanding debts or otherwise.  Claim number is 127402

I have gotten a call from them too.  They told me I owed $1,700 from a payday loan I took out in 2/2006.  In 8/2006 I declared bankruptcy and all my debts were included in it including any loans.  My lawyer said to tell them it was included in the bankruptcy and give them the case number.  If anyone has any email or snail mail address please let me know so I can send them an email/letter and my lawyer can.

This firm has called over and over for atleast two years looking for someone who has not had my phone number in at least 15 years.  I have called previously informing them that he does not live here and I do not know him.  They say they will correct it but do not....Called again yesterday, 7/11/2011 and left an ugly message for this man.  Called them just now and the guy I spoke with said he was a supervisor and was totally unprofessional and would not let me speak to anyone else but him.

Your an indiot! First of all learn how to spell ANONYMOUS! If the money is truly OWED then the company should go through the proper procedure by sending written documentation validating the debt. Its not that we do not want to pay what we OWE, if in fact it is owed. We want to make sure it is legitimate and if it is then it will get paid. Calling and harrassing and threatening to serve someone is not the way to go about collecting a debt. That is why these practices are against the law. If indeed someone was going to serve you, they certainly would not call you to inform you. So you "Anonomous" appear to be a complete idiot and you are probably the drunk bottom feeder making the phone calls.

Look, If you are going to be served then pay the bill you owe! All you people above are dead beats who dont want to pay anything back! How is it a scam when you took money from someone and they have all your personal info and ssn address, etc?! Pay the bill Dead Beats!! Otherwise GO TO COURT!

Some guy called from a private number and told me to call this number. Said I had charges against me, but said he couldn't tell me what. He said I had been served. WTF. Leave me alone, don't people have anything better to do, then scam people. Its OLD!

This company called me left case information with my grandson, told him there was a person looking for me to serve me papers they terrified him, he called me and told me.  I called them back they dont have any of my current information.  The only mistake I made was calling them from my cell phone, now they keep calling my cell I have had to have them blocked.  I dont even know the company that they say I owe money to.  Its a joke.

Was threatened and harrassed that if I didn't call them immediately, I would be served at my work. These people are crazy. I am not calling them back. I'm not falling for this scam!!!!!!

Would anyone happen to have this company's address.  I am obtaining legal counsel to SERVE them

Are you crazy why would you pay someone you never heard of.  do you know how many scammers there are out there doing the same thing to lots of people

I received a call at work from a process server name John Walker who sounded drunk. He wouldnt tell me what it was about and refused to provide me with any information. Said I was served and hung up the phone. Please I dont have time for the b***s***.

I received a message from Global 1-877-822-8213 saying that I had charges against me and that I needed to contact this place for mediation. if I had charges against me they would have definitely notified me about it. Very suspicious. Little do they know that I work for a law firm. I would like to know how they got my phone number.

877828213 (Global) called my mother and said there was a claim against me.  I called back and they told me it was on behalf of a payday loan for OutBack Buck.  I'd never heard of that company but I thought it was serious so I set up payment arrangements for it.  Should I contact my cc provider?

GLOBAL CALLED MY CELL PHONE AND SAID THEY NEEDED TO VERIFY MY WORK AND HOME ADDRESS TO SERVE ME. WHATEVER!!!! IF YOU ARE SERVING ME DO YOU THINK I WOULD GIVE YOU INFORMATION FREELY IDIOTS... SERVE ME AND THEN LET ME FIGHT YOU BACK FOR THE SCAM CALLS. This is so snake like.........They slide around trying to catch you slipping but thy do not understnd they are so busted and all of this is illegal that's why they never want togive you info.
