I got a call from some person claiming to be a document dispatcher.  I was a bit concerned but I called the number to find out what was happening.  I spoke with a Michelle Garcia who was very professional.  She helped me with a settlement on a old US Bank account that I had forgotten about.  They sent me all the documents before they took my money and they e-mail me every month when they take out my payments.  I would say Shapiro is a legit company. Im glad I called them back and avoided any legal trouble.

Mike Merko called about a "pending issue" with our property(???). Since we do have a few,  my husband called immediately back and left a detailed "firm" message. Nobody ever returned our call. These calls are fraudulent , disturbing, and probably unlawful.  They probably have access (legal?) to some kind of old information that your name was associated with. Disregard and report.

These scumbags just called my wife about a debt we paid YEARS ago.  I called 'Nicole Miller' back and told her we still have proof of this (which we do).  She asked me to fax it to her.  I refused and instead asked for a physical mailing address to send a copy.  She refused and said she needed the fax ASAP to avoid 'further legal action.'  She had called my wife's mother earlier in the day, trying to track my wife down like some wanted criminal.  I then told 'Nicole Miller' (there are MANY people who play that part) that her company has violated the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act (FDCPA) three times today: 1. By calling a family member in an effort to collect on a debt  2. Calling my wife about a debt that was invalid AND also well past the revolving credit statute of limitations, which is five years in Illinois  and 3. Threatening to sue my wife over a debt that cannot be collected.  Each violation carries a $1,000 liability payable to the supposed debtor (my wife) plus courts costs and attorney fees.  Check out the statute of limitations for your state and if it has passed they have to leave you alone, by law!

Miss Morris just did the same thing to me. Jerks.

I also received a call from "Miss Morris" on 05/15/2014 regarding "a pending issue in her office".  She said my property address and/or phone number has been linked in their investigation and she needed me to call her back right away.  If I don't call the address and/or phone will be deemed as verified.  Red flags all over the place for a SCAM.

Claiming to be from Shapiro and Assoc regarding assets and liabilities ,   left message giving a 2 hour window to return call or could no longer help.  Won't be returning that call

got a call from a Mike Marco said it was urgent that my daughter called him back within an hour for some investigation. I am not returning the call

Got a call from someone by the name of Dan Allen who left a message and said my property and phone number has been linked to an investigation and if i don't call immediately, further action will be taken and my property could be seized.  I am not returning the call.

Called and said this is regarding a pending investigation regarding your property!Other posts says it's a debt collector!She was so garbled you could not understand her name and she rattled off a bunch of numbers. Will not return call!

Got a call from this number today 8/28/13.  they left a message  and said their name was Nation Wide. When I returned call it wasn't Nation Wide that answered.

I WISH I KNEW ALSO THEY CALLED ME TODAY ...RE SOBPOENA FOR ME TO GO COURT..
