We are also getting a call almost daily with silence followed by an eventual click. As a business with a small staff, this is a very unwanted annoyance.

We have been called a few times with the same crap english then french if you have call display don't answer as my wife says just let it go......

Ya I got this call today and yesterday. says please hold or wait then again in french and then hangs up... ANNOYING

We have been called twice now and get the message "This is an important call, thank you for holding" and then the same message in french. It repeats a couple of times then disconnects.
My guess is that they include the french translation to sound officious, as though it is a call from a department within the Canadian government, such as Revenue Canada. This will prompt you to call THEM back, probably at an exorbitant rate!
