Gather as much info as possible on these Low Life scum bags and report them. They are nothing but bullies behind a telephone. They threaten we are coming to your work and we have papers and they never show up because they can't. As stated earlier, Debt collection is a civil matter not a criminal matter.

Mark Maxwell is now registered in the complaint with the Consumer Finance division of the government. I know that is not his real name but..... I am getting closer to finding it out and his location..

Look here all of you people want to pretend like you know the laws and what the process of this company is.... I went ahead an ignored all the calls the way everyone said to, now im in a worse position ive had to appear on this matter and i now have wage garnishment and was suspended because there were charges against me.... WHEN YOU KNOW YOU HAVE DEFAULTED ON A LOAN and a LITIGATION FIRM calls you this is going to court!!!! this is not a scam company and if i would have done MORE research i would have realized this is not a roauge collection agency they have been around for 3 years!! this is a legitimate FIRM and they really were not the person calling my job that was a process server...ugh this is so frustrating that people can post what they THINK they know but they are WRONG! thanks for nothing... PAY YOUR BILLS PEOPLE....

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

This number has been calling my mother's house for a week threatening to sue my husband. We have no idea what this is related to. She wants me to call back but I don't really want them having my work number. They are saying they are from Alexandria, LA, and we are in Monroe. They won't give a business name, only threats, and, to me, too much info to my mom going against the FCRA. I believe if there are truly any criminal charges or pending litigation against someone, they must be served via mail or police. Furthermore, they are calling my mother, not us. It's really strange. I want them to stop harassing her, but I'm hoping they'll just let it go and find someone else to pester.

They claim to be the Pre-Litigation Firm Capitol Harris. Quick Google search showed no results except for scams. Mellisa Green called us from their "company" and said an employee of ours had charges against her. They asked for tons of personal info which of course we would not provide and they hung up. I called them back asking for more information on their organization and after answering some vague questions they refused to provide any more information and eventually hung up on me.

More information on said company http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-877-491-5078/3

Do not give your personal information. Report them right away if they call you.

I dont know them and dont owe them. They made threats about  having charges against me for what! They are trying to scare you into providing personal information. Dont give it to them and dont call the return number that is left for you. Repert this number to the attorney general's office in your state.

05/20/2014 My husband today was called by this number1877 827 2195 was  told the person  was  working  for  a law firm and insisted that my husband disclose to him and confirm his  address and last four of his social, when asked what this was for the person said they cant disclose this information, so my husband then said well i cant disclose you any information either. Then this person who uses a different name then contacted his place of employment, and convinces them that they are going to serve my husband so he had to sit and wait for three hours, of course no one came. after calling the Police we found out at no time would any one be calling from  the  Police department or a law firm to notify you,  that you are going to be served or arrested   ahead of time and you do not give your social security number  out to any one. Also  this sounds like one of those scams..I Will say we have had several calls in the past weeks from each different ,numbers using the same story
