Receive a call to call 8778301842 back.  Said it was Chase Bank and we should call about our mortgage.  The voice sounded very much like the one that always calls about auto-insurance.

said they were chase bank calling about my mortgage to collect a debt and needed to speak to the mortgage holder.  my mortgage is not in arrears. and if they issued the mortgage wouldn't they know who the holder is????

They read a script telling you that this is an attempt to collect a debt (it appears that Chase has outsourced this function to India).  In my case, it is actually regarding my pending loan modification - I did verify that the number does belong to Chase.
