With those replys, you are probably being BILLED for a PREMIUM TEXT message.
Contact your provider, and ask for assistance to block from that sender.

If it is a sales presentation, they cannot make you stay the whole time, if you show up by law they have to give you what they have mentioned they will, get it and go.....

Got the same with a diff gift id. Called them and asked them who they were. He wasn't ready to say. My shipping and handling was only $1.95 :)
I am sure its a scam. He did mention that it was because of a survey that I filled out a few months ago.
He had a bad accent too, suckers I tell ya!

Received a text from 607-261-0069 saying to call 877-830-6722 to receive a free $100 gift card. It says, "We Want to Thank You Call us at 877-830-6722 For your 100 Dollar Gift Card Gift ID 890 Txt Stop to Remove" I didn't text back since that may confirm that you receive and read text messages and the company probably won't remove you anyway.

I started getting "spam" texts about 2 weeks ago - a few days after I filled out a survey on Walmart's website where I was required to provide my cell phone number. I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or not.

Got same message on my cell phone. I called on land line. Told me the name of the company was SMS - short message system. He did tell my gift cards were from Target and Restaurant something or other and it was for filling out some survey in the last 6 months. Funny thing is, I dont fill out on-line surveys. Then asked how would I like to pay for $1.95 handling fee. Told him I'd rather not accept the gift cards if I had to give them a credit or debit card. He hung on me.

Just got a text from (646) 250-2216:
"We want to thank you call 877 830-6722 For you two 50 dollar gift cardsGift ID 820"
I called the number and got a rep named "Bob Tim". He would not tell me their location or any other information other than their company is called "Smart Shoppers". When I informed him that marketing to cell numbers is illegal, he would act as if he couldn't hear me and would not acknowledge that what they are doing is illegal. I reported him and his company using the FTC do not call site.

Thank You Call us at 877-830-6...

SCasey 2011-03-03 18:25:25 Unknown
One last thing I failed to mention about the call above:
I was, like another said, sent a text first that said:
"We Want to Thank You
Call us at 877-830-6722
For your Gift Cards
Gift ID 810
Txt Stop to Remove"
I actually called to see 'who' was 'Thanking me'! I think that this is a total scam of somekind! If it was anything legit, the first thing they would've done would be to identify themselves and tell me What they were 'Thanking Me For'!! NONE OF THAT HAPPENED! SCAM!!
SCasey 2011-03-03 18:17:46 Unknown
I think the people on the other end of this phone number are scamming people. They said that they were 'Smart Shopper's'. I had to ask for that twice before they told me who they were. The first question that they asked was my name. I asked who they were twice, and after they told me (not the first thing on their list) I said "no, you cannot have my name" and hung up on them. I immediately googles the # and am now reporting it here. When are we wireless customers going to have the ability to 'block' calls right from our cell phones??
Andrew 2011-03-02 18:49:42 Unknown
They have sent me numerous texts and I keep telling them to stop, but they keep sending them. I finally called them and gave them a piece of my mind and the POS on the other end of the line kept saying I cant hear you call back. I told her she could hear me just fine and that she wasnt allowed to tell me what the gift card was for until I gave her all this personal information. They pissed me off!!!

Brhea2011 2011-02-28 21:27:48 Unknown
I would suggest never to reply to these texts. they ask you to reply so that they are assured your number is valid. Once they receive that information, you are likely to be flooded with MANY more of these. I notice once i get a scam text and don't reply, i never see the text again. All replying is doing is informing them that your number is a working number.
