NO THESE CALLS ARE NOT LEGIT. EVEN IF YOU OWE A PAYDAY LOAN, THAT COMPANY WOULD CONTACT YOU, NOT A MIDDLE EASTERN THUG. AS FOR ME BEEN THERE DONE THAT. THE GUY NOT ONLY CALLED MY JOB, AND WAS RUDE TO MY EMPLOYER, BUT HE ALSO HAD A BOGUS CALLED MADE TO ME FROM THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. I CALLED THE NUMBER RIGHT BACK TO MY SURPRISE IT WAS THE LOCAL SHERIFF'S DEPT, BUT THE CALL DIDN'T COME FROM THERE.           THE PERSON AT THE SHERIFF'S DEPT. TOLD ME THEY WOULD NEVER CALL SOMEONE TO TELL THEM THEY'RE ABOUT TO BE SERVED. SHE ASSURED ME IT WAS ALL A SCAM.

MY EMPLOYER WORKED WITH ME TO GET THIS GUY TO STOP CALLING. PLEASE DON'T EVEN TALK WITH HIM.

The original company I paid over a year ago said they would do the same!! I never received that email or any other proof of payment from them!! I have now had a total of 3-4 other companies call me to collect this same exact supposed loan that I still don't know where it originated from because not one single person will verify it in writing as they are legally required to do!! It is not legit, no matter how much they try to convince you it is!! I can't get these idiots to go away now that I have paid and they are harassing my previous employers who have no forwarding address for me!! The only reason I know that they contacted them is because my mother still works there!! She has instructed them to forward this call to her the next time so she can set them straight about calling there. These people are all intertwined!! I have been researching the last couple companies that called me and they all originate from the same area.....go figure!!

Debt Collector
I too have received a few calls regarding a number listed among the previous posts. It started with a call earlier this week from a "private" number and I let it go to voicemail. I got the same schtick has previously listed...that if I didn't call the 855 number I was going to be served some 'papers' at my home or place of employment. The caller left no information as to who he was (or even his name), to whom I owed the debt, or the name of the "3rd party" company I was to contact to put a 'stop order' on the serving of "papers". If I did not call the number, he would contact me again later in the week and give me one last chance and they would "dispatch" someone the next day to serve me the "papers" if I did not comply. Since I was not provided this info via voice mail, I did not respond. Sure enough, a few days go by and I receive the 2nd phone call notifying me that they would be serving me the "papers" the following day and to please make this as easy and discreet as possbile. The only difference this time was that the person who called forgot to block his call and the number showed up on ID. Google is a wonderful thing, so I entered it and did a search and came to find out that the phone call came from a pay phone at a gas station. Really? A pay phone at a gas station? I was planning to see what happened as the day went on and whether or not I would be served these "papers" that I have no idea where theyre coming from. You could definitely tell that the guy who left the message was reading from a script

Lets keep in mind here that legit debt collectors will ALWAYS give you the schtick about how "this is an attempt to collect a debt..." and at no time did I receive that message. Im guessing that no name would be given in the voice mail because the operation is illegal, but the person calling and leaving a message wasnt smart enough to block his call let alone realize that calling from a gas station where there are cameras inside located at a major intersection where there are more cameras that activate every time the light turns red is pure genius! Im sure the police will have no problem locating his whereabouts. If he was on foot, he must live or work really close to the place where the call came from. Way to be discreet.

Just remember...

~If anyone is going to serve you with anything, there is no notice of any kind...they find you and they serve you, and it will be by someone who will identify themselves with proper documentation
~If indeed they are a debt collector, they are required by law to tell you that they are a debt collector. If they fail to give you information of any kind as to who they are or what the call is in regards to, then hang up. Also refuse to give them any information. Theyre the ones who called you, and they have all the info they need on hand to do what they need to do if they are legit.

If you need more info on this scam, do a Google search for 855-844-3542 or look for anything close to these numbers. Im sure it is all the same people because every single story is the same

If you are what you claim to be, why would you bother hounding victims of this scam? This is a scam http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710 and you are their shill. Legit collectors obey Section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf which states collectors must send required paperwork within 5 days of initial contact. If you don't send paperwork, then you will be treated like a scammer.

FYI Tace, I am not a scammer. Im not employed by this "ADR Firm" who ever the hell they are. I too received a call from a Frank White. I, like everyone on here googled the number before calling and found all these post about this so called firm, when reading this I came to find that it is reguarding unpaid payday loans. I never in my life have appiled for a payday loan and when calling the number I was able to find that it was not my loan just for someone who had the same name in the same city. So tace do yourself a favor and go blow yourself you irresponsible b*****d!!!

My responses are the same because it's efficient to Copy/Paste replies to ID scammer shills.
Yes, there are people who intentionally scam lenders but I believe these are in the minority for the same reason we aren't all criminals. Most people become debtors inadvertently (we are in a recession) and the presumption of innocence forbids your assuming they "never intend on paying them back" which is nothing more than a FALSE ASSERTION.
The FDCPA bans deception in debt collection. Shilling is deception. You are breaking the law so spare us the holier-than-thou lectures. Where I spend my time is nobody's business. I am not employed and decline your suggestion of employment. Horrors! If I get a job, where would I find the time to spend on 800notes? On "obtaining loans and hiding," I plead... no comment!

Now this number is calling my phone and asking for a totally different person. Since I went through this two weeks ago, and turned in that 800 number, and got called yesterday as well for someone else, I certainly will continue on the same path straight to the FBI and the AG office. Maybe these yahoos think they are above the law (or way beneath it...) but they are not and they will eventually slip up. Don't they know the FBI and State Attorney General's office has started a new task force just to deal with these terrorists? I was told by a reputable government source that many of these calls have been traced to Nigeria!

Candygirl,
I know it is scary as heck, but don't let these scammers get to you. Explain to your parents what is going on, and you can even give them the press release posted previously on 800notes.com about the FBI's opinion of this mess. There is some good information in it - PLEASE read it!

These people are definitely bottom-feeders, and what they are doing is illegal as hell. I got a call like this 2 weeks ago myself and turned it over to the Colorado State Attorney General's office. My call was exactly like the one you described, but not from the same number you are talking about. Very vague, and they kept repeating they would let me know the name of the company AFTER I gave them my payment information. I told them to send it to me in writing. They said they would not. I told them I was NOT willing to "settle out of court" by paying them, and they hung up on me. In the meantime, I had recorded their threatening message on my answering machine and turned it over to the Colorado Attorney General. This guy actually said he was "following me, would find me, and would take me away so my family and friends would never see me again." Then he NAMED my family members.

If you fall for this, no matter how scary it is, you will just lose money you don't need to and who KNOWS what this scam is financing out there? Really, nowadays we cannot be careful enough. If you were going to be served papers, your local sheriff or law enforcement officer would do it, or it would come electronically to you through Lexis Nexis. I have been around the block a few times and know this for a fact after numerous medical bills.

Read the press releases and follow the instructions there. Good luck. Be strong.

Whatever! You can sure tell who is the scammer in these conversations. Anyone who would accuse people of not paying their bills based on this kind of extortion (Yes, that is what the FBI calls it) doesn't know their you-know-what from a hole in the ground.

Why don't you losers go blow yourselves up (seeing you are terrorists and all) and leave nice people who actually work hard at decent jobs to make ends meet the heck alone!

One thing I do know is your responses are all limited to the same statement, which tells me your a credit nightmare and your mad as hell people can find you so easy. People take loans out all the time and never intend on paying them back, including internet loans. These are the people that are lower than whale S%!t The people trying to help them are doing their job, something most of these people don't have or they would not be in this situation. By the way anonymous, you spend too much time here which tells me you need a job and are the real scammer of obtaining loans and hiding.

My parents recieved a call from them as well. Now they are calling my cell phone. Some replies are saying they are legit, others are saying its fake...what's the deal. When I called them back to ask for details they kept putting me on hold. They wouldn't tell me the date of the supposed loan only it was a payday loan and I commited fraud by intentianally writing a check that did not clear to pay it off. I have no record of owing this supposed payday loan place and there is nothing on my credit report. they wouldn't even tell me what year it was from or give me anything in writing. they refused to give me their address in case I wanted to make payments. They hung up on me. The call I got was from an aggresive Scott Miller and only stated he had my address and would serve me if I did not call ADR and make arangements, then gave me the number 877-834-3244. So whats up with this...?????????

We got the same crap.

Threatening calls from some terribly unprofessional people(these idiots have the 'phone/people skills' of barbarians - well, probably not even that much).

They are very elusive when you inquire about who they are. (how in the hell do they expect to be successful at this when they call and demand info while being rude and refuse to clearly identify themselves??). You can tell they are a low budget operation. When they call, you can hear others talking in the background reading from the same script(s). They are apparently too cheap to even buy cubicles for their low rent employees.

I could have written many of the other posts I've read here based upon our experience with this garbage. "Locating service" looking to verify information so they can "serve papers". They even called relatives that live in a town we haven't resided in for years, and hadn't even spoke to in a very long time. We could certainly tell that the information they were using was very old.  Certainly old enough to make any debts from that time UNCOLLECTIBLE, per the Credit Reporting Act. It would also be outside of any statute of limitations for any legal/civil actions. If any of you losers are reading this, that means you can go SCREW YOURSELVES!!!

I'm guessing this is some low life, bottom feeding leechf@*k company/group of people that buy lists/databases from other similar low life companies, trying to scare/intimidate people into giving them money(they truly are lower than whale s***). I'm almost a little pleased that they are wasting their time and resources on us, knowing that they will get jack sh1#t!!! LOL

Anyone receiving contacts from these snakes would probably be well served to simply ignore them, or play along long enough to where you can go after them.

Bring it!!!! We will be a 'net loss' on your pathetic 'balance sheet' by the time you are through with us! If this continues we will begin gathering evidence(we know how) that will allow us to sue your a***s into oblivion! Please, keep it coming! Your "Customer Service Representatives" tend to be very loose in what they say, much of which could get you into even more trouble! (y'all had better start recording those calls and doing some QA)

First of all, it is illegal for any collection agency to leave detailed information about anyone's debt at a message phone number. It is even more illegal for them to call your place of employment and disclose anything. A good employer or Human Resource company will tell them right off the bat that calling them to collect from an employee at work is illegal as well.

I had this happen to me last week with a different 800 number, and they continued to call and leave messages like "I am after you and I will find you, at work, at home, when you aren't looking. I am following your every move." Also illegal as heck.

The Colorado State Attorney General's office told me to record these threatening messages, which I did with my cell phone and then played it by speaker phone to them. I gave them the multiple 800 numbers (all that said only "out of area" or "private party." Pretty unusual for a business phone, eh?
They are hot on the trail but claim that these 800 numbers are usually only in service for a few days to a week just for this reason.

I just called the 877-834-3244 number and welcomed them to call me back, but just to know I am already in touch with the AG office in Denver and their every word will be recorded. Now we will see if they call back. If they do, they're bait and I am glad to provide it to the authorities.

This retarded @#$%@ going by the name of 'Diana Davidson' initially called me (from 'no number') on Saturday.  Very mean, aggressive, threatening message saying she is a locater hired to serve me papers at my place of residence or job.  Left me a number of 877-834-3244 for ADR FIRM to call and take care of settlement before she served me the papers.  (What the @#$% kind of investigator/service calls from 'no number'? So bogus.)  She left a case number of 131149 (last 4 digits were the last 4 of my social.)  So I call them back, so pipsqueak guy answered whose @#$S haven't dropped yet, and he hesitates when I ask them who they are, what's this for...give him my last name, he starts reading me off something about a payday loan from an uncertain time frame from a company I've never heard of and some vague details of relatives/friends of that time period and tries to get me to pay him.  He gives me nothing legit to go off of, other than he's raided my facebook or pulled a credit report of some kind (had wallet stolen a few months ago, social is on fraud alert) then hands me over to some chick after he becomes flustered who demands to be payed $50.00 or this conversation is over and going to court.  Such a bunch of BS.  Do your due diligence and research this kind of thing before you get flustered and scared like I did.
