They will put yo on a DNC list if you call back

they put you on a DNC list but want to call you back to verify.  But that still doesn't stop them they call back in a few months.

800 service call

They have called 3 times in the past few days and I have been getting their calls for months. I even picked up once just to tell them to quit calling. No one says anything on the other line. Just to make sure, I started to really let them have it and still no answer.

I submit the following comment for every phone # I check on this site. It's so tiring getting call after call after call, 800 Service (877) 835-7778 Upwards of two doz times from this 800 Service veriant) being one of them. It's the only help I can offer.

I have gotten so fustrated with all the calls that come in that I turned my ringer down to 3 rings, then off to voice mail it goes. That may not be the answer for all, but in addition to the above, I have comcast 'voice' and wanted to share the following with others that may also have c-v but didn't know they could do the below as well. I copied and pasted it directly from their FAC page. I hope I've helped some one.

WHAT IS CALL SCREENING AND HOW DO I USE IT WITH MY COMCAST DIGITAL VOICE® SERVICE?
A: When you don't want to be interrupted by certain callers, Call Screening allows you to create a list of up to 12 numbers that will receive an announcement indicating you re not presently accepting calls.
To use Call Screening:
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
Press *60.
A menu of options will guide you in managing this feature. The prompts will enable you to activate and deactivate the feature as well as add, delete, or review the numbers on your list.
To cancel Call Screening:
Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
Press *80.
When prompted press 3 to turn the feature off.
Note: When creating your list, enter the area code plus the 7 digit number for both local and domestic long-distance numbers.

Comcast digital voice call screening does not work for toll-free numbers (800, 877, etc). It will only allow you to block/screen a non toll-free number, which really sucks.

The Service Provider for 1-877-835-7778 is "AT&T".  The contact number for AT&T is 1-800-732-5689.  Contact them for the REAL business and address information on this number.  

Beware that many times these automated dialers will state that they are a legitimate business, when in fact they are debt collectors mining for your information...be wary about giving ANY information out to incoming callers.  Hope this helps!

1-877-835-7778 today at approximately 10:30 - your site has reports from others that this is the NY Times BUT it showed "UNKNOWN" and when I answered the telephone (since 877 is a valid number in this area code) no one answered. If it is the NY TImes why show unknown?

2 back to back calls with hang ups

3 calls today.  3 calls yesterday, etc etc etc

I received this call today after reporting online to Chase that my credit card had unauthorized charges from Obama for America. I support Obama but not unlimited unauthorized overenthusiastic use of my credit card which I did not want stored and which their software stored unknown to me. I called the Obama numbers given and left messages but have not received any call backs. I told the caller from this 877 number that under no circumstances did I want my credit card used without my explicit authorization. I did not want a refund as I had used the signs, buttons etc. sent to me and did not feel this refund would be honest. Warning shadow software can be dangerous!

same thig here - they all at like 8AM on the dot almost every morning.  Today it was at 8:30AM - when I answered they hung up on me.  So I was annoyed and googled the number!  This is moy home office so I have no idea how they got the number! Grrrrrrr!

NY Times Sales

They have called 24 times in the last 12 days (as per caller ID log). They have been calling for months and months....... I just don't answer.

I don't get calls from people I know without knowing when they'll call. So when the phone rang, I knew it was a telemarketer, so I umplugged the phone at the wall while it was still ringing. Then I did a *69 to get their number. This should make their robocalling mechanism think they had rung a non-working number and should get me off their list. At least this will work with most robocallers. It's even better if you have caller ID and can see it looks like a telemarketers number. So just unplug the phone. This works better than a Telezapper. After you find out who it was, you can get the last called number and if it was a number you wanted to answer, you can call them right back.

"Know what I'm saying?". he said, "Know what I'm saying?"  "Pick up the phone," he said, "pick up the phone, pick up the phone, pick up the phone, pick up the phone, pick up the phone!"  He said, "Why haven't you picked up the phone, why haven't you picked up the phone?" I know, it gets really old to me.

Hardee har... very funny. They can call all day every day, and now months later, still be doing it to new victims, NEVER saying anything when you answer the phone EVER no matter how long you hold on.. but you are trying to convince me that calling them all day every day is criminal? LOL.

My husband answered the phone and once the telemarketer said "is this address the same as your billing address" my husband said he wasn't interested.  The telemarketer must have thought my husband had hung up after that because he called him an idiot.  That was a good way to start the day.

Called this afternoon tried to get me to buy a newspaper subscription, I told them I wasn't interested. I went on to tell them I had a hard time reading and concentrating because all day I sit around and smoke wet. He was dumbfounded, I told him "wet" was PCP and he should try smoking it sometime. That seemed to throw him off. I went on to ramble about b***s*** stories I made up of drugging and drinking, he got the impression I was broke after about 5 minutes. He ended up hanging up and went on his way.

Called at exactly 8:30 EST... Just a tip for everyone: if you don't know who it is or if it's a toll free call DONT ANSWER.

At 9 AM a caller left this message on the answering machine:  Hello, heellloo, hhheeeellllllooooo, then just said 8778357778 so fast I had to replay the message 3 times before I understood the entire phone number.

this number called my cell today. no clue how my number was put out there. but i didnt anwser.

This number has been showing up on my caller ID for days so today I finally answered.  PCF wanting to let me try NY Times.  Said no, hopefully they will stop now.

Who are these people and why are they changing the name on the caller ID.   Mind says Toll Free Call.  They've called day in and day out, twice today.  I've had it with these people.

called back the number 877-835-7778, and it was the sales office for the NY Times.
