i just got a call form them.  They say they are Chase but I do not have an account with them.  He pushed very hard for my SS# but hung up when I wouldn't give it.  Definitly a scam!!!

I received a call supposedly from(CHASE BANK) with this 1877-836-3040 and they provide a name Mr.Danny Stom at extention 33653; but when I call them back the computer system announced that you are calling CHASE, LIKE THE REAL CHASE DOES IT.The person who respond my call  didn't know  "Mr. Stom" and he started to ask me for my personal information like ss#, Driver's license, and account # so I said to him that "I am returning a call from you".This person denied that they call me first. I belive the goverment should start investigating these false group.

Got a call on our cell phone which is used only in the car and while traveling on trust business. Message said they had an important message for us. I logged onto the account website and found there were no new messages. It must be a scam. If you all are getting requests to pay back loans you don't have then it's phoney. Chase may have been hacked, although they don't have our car phone number attached to the account.

I receive 5 or 6 calls a day from Chase.  I know that this is scam but how the he-- do I get it stopped.  I called them back and asked them to take me of call list and was called a f------ bit--

I get these calls too, just got the second one in about 6 months or more.  I don't have a mortgage with them, so know it is not Chase.  Don't give your ssn...I tried to call them back to get removed, got the "attempt to collect a debt message", and after 10 minutes of being on hold, hung up.  Good luck!

Keep getting calls from this number. Represents themselves as Chase. Called back just to stop it and got an official enough sounding automated answering system for Chase as trying to collect a debt. Then a closed for business at the present time (on Sunday) and call back on the weekdays business hours message. Chase Bank reported that they have no record of any calls being made to my number regarding my account made by them. Obviously, it is one of many scam caller numbers I have received over the years trying to commit identity fraud theft. Try blocking this number from your phone line through your phone service provider. It is most likely the best you can do to stop the calls from this number periodically.

These jokers continually call.  I believe they are only trying to skim info from you to update their credit reports and they get paid to do so.

You can block numbers with google voice.  I'm getting these on my home phone directly.  I WISH they were coming throughg my google voice number. :)

CALL CHASE, We fax ducument to Chase Recovrery stating mortgage was closed. Even called NewYork Head Q  had a person say yea its closed. But got a new call from Perfered Collections  stating we now have to pay. Called NY again month later saying we need deal with Perfered collections.SO don't  assuume Call Chase It might says Closed or Charge off but it went to a collections even in our case 2 1/2 years later.   So back to our lawyers.

This is a scam for sure. They want your SS# Dah! Ever since I signed up for google voice I have been getting these scam calls Time to get rid of Google voice. I called back once and got a woman from Arizona (different number, same scam wanting my soc. I called Chase to report it. It seems they do very little to find these people and prosecute them for attempted robbery. Maybe if a few of these people got arrested it would slow them down a bit.

We reiceive on average 5-8 calls per week from this number, when you call them they ask for your account number with them. As we dont have an account with them, the say that there is nothing they can do. I asked them to remove our number from their call list but they say they can't as we dont have an account wth them. Aaargh  !!

they call us every day.  never had an account with chase.  Any way to get them to stop?

Intereting,  After leaving a voice message to 877-836-3040 ext 35786  and send a fax of proof to thier FAX # Friday we got a call Sunday at 1:19 we did not anwer but got same message to call # .. . The fax # was a Texas #  I also had fax to a # I googled that was a Colarado #. Totally OFF THE WALL . Our Lawyer advised us this must be a scam we have confirmation from Chase Head Quarters of account CLOSED and the Remark says CLOSED.

Never went - called Chase instead they had no record of my 2nd mortgage.  They know we are going to file Chapter 13 - told us to have our attorney advise us.

what did you learn when you took the letter in to a Chase branch?

Thanks for this information.  We just got a modification on our first mortgage and I was under the impression that this was written off or wrote into the modification.  I will take it to one of the Chase Branches.  Had a feeling because I have also received requests to pay $6,000.00 to pay it off in full.

I get the same messge. Never a live person. This worked for me on another annoying call. Answer the call, then hit the # key as fast as you can and hang up. It screws up their computers!!!

To Update my ealier post about 877-830-3040 and the letter. We had contacted our lawyer, got confermation TODAY from JP Morgan Chase Headquaters  that we do not owe. I also had sent a email to abuse@chase.com regarding letter, they email me back today to have me scan the letter and send it to them or take it to local Chase branch. Hope that helps anyone who recieves a call or letter.

I called the 877 # again said I Had a message to call, they asked if I had an account with Chase I said I DID but it was Closed 04/09 the gentleman said oh can I have the account # I said well its been 2 &1/2 years but I could find it, I asked if it was The account was Closed it means Closed and he agreed but could check if I gave my SS# I said I don't give it out. He said ok just call back when I have account #.
I called and said the same my account closed and this time the lady said oh I'll transfer me to Custmer Care Got automated service asking for acocunt and or SS# I hung up because it could be anyone.

What was the outcome was it a scam.we got a letter too.We CONTACTED alawyer.

Got a letter from chase with 877-836-3040 to call.The letter said it was offering a "Window of Oppotunity"they would settle for 6,4??.?? before Oct 16  or the offer be null & void. OUR Credit Report state Paid/Close of 04/2009 and I CHECK again there has been nothing reported since. still say Paid/Close 10/8/2011. Plus Our Insurance agent didn't have send proof Insurance of dwelling as of 04/2009  that office said it was not needed.their records said Paid/Close. I answerd a call and told them It was listed as Paid/Close on our Cedit Report. I'm faxing documents Moday. Had a call at 5:05 pm central today ( Sunday )) called them back and the office was closed.I thought itwas strange to have acall on Sunday

received a letter that i owned a home equity loan and the would settle my account for 20% of $50,000 i owe. Funny thing is I don't have a equity loan. Letter gave me a po box to sent payment a 877-836-3040 to call but i call it and the number just hangs up every time after a recording saying "this is Chase we are in attempt to collect a debt" but nobody ever answered and then the line would dis connect. I then went to Chase website called their phone number and they said the account number my letter says is not a home loan account nor in my name at all. They have no loan under my number or SSN.

called this place back. They asked for my ssn. I refused. I have never done business  with them, they asked if I had done business with Washington Mutual. No.  She refused to take my number off because I don't know who they want.  She is telling me that I have to talk to someone and my number cannot be removed from their list.  That is a bunch of hog wash!!!!  I want them to quit calling me on a daily basis.  This is getting disgusting!!! So, if I ask for number to be removed, they can't?  I don't think that is right. Any ideas from anyone?

So sick of these calls.  This is clearly a phishing scam.  How can I stop the calls?  They disturb my sleep and wake up my baby.

This call comes into our business line ever day - sometimes before 7am, sometimes @ 9pm!! Who can I complain to?  When I call this number, they pretend to not know anything about the call. I was asked if I had done business with Chase.  We have not.

Are these people legit or is this some scam? Got a funny looking letter that didnt look right. Says to pay them and the account was charged off 5 months ago.
