I received a call from this number today. Since I just got my phone number 3 days ago I knew it had to be some sort of debt collector for the previous owner of my number. I was able to speak to a polite man who said he would remove my number from their records. I asked him what the name of his company is and he stated, "Adam Ross Services". He confirmed they are a debt collection company.

When these people call,  ask them to send proof of the bill and a letter from the company authorize them to collected and a letter of - stating what is the work out plan and do not give any personal info (like SS#, Credit card or bank account number) . Ask,  please do not hang up on me or call me a piece of s**t . Be human, oh they will ask you what is that. Tell them soon as I get info, we can talk. They will ask for your address. You call me and you do not know, my address. What is yours address so I can turn it over the Attorney General Office of Texas.

You can send a certified cease and desist letter.  It may help.

As it stands now, 10 or 20 year old debt is commonly sold to collection companies who collect it by calling the debtor.  But there are rules established by the FDCPA and state laws.  The statute of limitation for normal debt collection of my state is 4 years, so you can NOT be sued for such debt, but they can still call you to ask you to pay.  Read the act and learn what the rules are.  They can NOT call your employer and say you are a deadbeat.  They can NOT call you after 9 pm or before 8 am, I believe.  They can not call others, other than to locate you and are limited in what they can disclose to others.   I suggest you get caller id, and never answer the calls.

I keep getting calls from several different 800 numbers, this one 877-838-5002 is the most persistant.

Our phone number is unlisted and unpublished, we have only had it for 4 months and the only people who know the number is me, my husband, and the kids grandma.
There is no way that this could be a legit business, I think they just call people in a numerical order and hope they get someone who will fall for their scam...There has got to be a way to make them stop harassing people.
I never answer the phone unless the kids grandma is the one calling.  The only reason we have a house phone besides 911, is for the kids to call grandma.

So far, I have received over 1,450 calls, sometimes several a day, 6 times in 4 minutes...?!!!

No one will tell me who they are (Company name?) !!!
Won't give me their name?!!!
...or, what they want?!!!

Anyone that goes to this extreme to hide, is a CRIMINAL!

These people, who ever they are have called my house for months..everyday. Recorded message about some claim filed, gives another 800# to call. I don't know who they are, I don't owe anybody anything to file any claim. If it was really authentic, I believe I would be contacted by mail.  I don't even leave my answering machine on anymore. No name is listed on caller ID.

Calls me often and I don't answer to 800 numbers that I am not familiar with, they never leave a message, so it must not be important.  They always call after noon while I am at work!  It is very bothersome!!!!

Portfolio Associates - Debt Collectors VERY old debt.  One of about 2 dozen numbers they call from.  Do not answer them - EVER.

Just delt with RJ Harris from their "legit collections company." He kept threatening for 3 years to put my claim against my credit when any respectable company would have done it already. I told him to send me proper paperwork and he deflected to his usual threat.Not only are they criminals, but idiots. They should be investigated for Fraud and charged with Harassment.

Calls every day. Does not identify themselves. Female voice requesting a selection be made.  Then the female voice says we have not made a selection in the allowed time. Never say who they are trying to get a hold of.

this is a legit collections company very professional willingly gave me all the info that i needed to confirm the bill. gave me options other than demands dont be afraid to answer they will work with you if needed.

Received calls from this number almost every day for months.   Finally answered.  It was Randolph Anderson LLC.  They wanted to talk to my son, who doesn't live with me.  I told the lady that.  She said she had another number for him, and I have not received a call from then since.  She was very polite.

These ppl are so annoying, constantly calling and calling. I am going to have to change my number since they insist on asking for someone who used to have this number and they will not stop calling me! GRRR!
