I just got a call from nationwide legal meditations,  My first red light is when they left a message, with my FULL NAME and last four of my social  and in this message proceeded to tell me i was wanted for check fraud and could face charges IMMEDIATELY if i did not call them back, so IF this is Christina or someone who knows her, please let her know... Uh HUH??? Thats so super illegal  ( i worked for at&t collections ) ( and check n go payday loans ) so i know for  a fact that you cannot speak to anyone or leave ANY messages with information like that , three rules are your name who you rep  and who the call is for , THATS IT  - so i called them back and the so called manager Lisa Montgomery told me i was up for two felony cases of check fraud for an internet payday loan from 7 years ago.  I filed bankruptcy last year but she said it dont cover check fraud , so i told her i would like to  call my attorney to check the validity of their claim , she said i needed to pay today or she will push the legal process out ,  so i said ok, well do what you have to , i called my lawyer who said its a scare tactic  , to let them check it out and then i called the states attorney and the attorney general here in IL  and both said its a horrible scam and they have no legal standing , that they are a high tech scam because so many people do pay out of fear of criminal prosecution, while i was on the phone, this company called my father and told him the exact same thing they left on my messages~!!!  so not only did they violate 1 law but now another!  Im more angry that they scared my dad. but i am filing a complaint  the number i got a call from was 972-594-9209

I received a call from another number, 7143840300 at my place of work. My coworker picked up and asked to speak with me about a claim filed against me. Didn't suspect anything of it, so I spoke with the guy. His supposed name was Nick Norwell. Said he had some papers to serve me and needed to verify my work address. Asked him what this was in regards to, and he said he was a locator and I needed to call 8555199517 to obtain info. He gave me a case number. And said he'd give me an hour. I called and spoke with Allen at Nationwide. He said I owed money on a payday advance from dec 2010. I told him that was paid off and he said I can handle it directly with them or wait until the 3rd party delivers me the paper for fraud and intent to not pay. I said ok, send it. Because until i recieve a written notice validating my debt, i was not going to do anything. Went back to work and sure enough Nick calls. Tells another coworker he needed to speak with in regards to a claim being filed against me. I got on the phone and told him this is a personal phone call, he is not allowed to contact me at work. Im not allowed to receive personal calls . He then says he hates to sound like a broken record but he needs to verify my work address since its the only one he has and he needs to serve me my papers. I told him he can serve me b at home. He then says he doesn't have that info nor does he have any other number to call me. So I told him that if he's a locater, he can locate my information and I refuse to give him any info. And if he comes to my work, I will have him arrested and that I was going to report him to my local pd as sson as we hang up. He then tells me he will be there shortly. A***ole calls right back and spoke to another coworker and tells them he needs to verify my work address for a claim against me. My coworker told him that she was not allowed to verify employee information and that he needed to contact our corporate office and hung up on him.

These people have nothing better to do and after reading all these complaints, im going to take action and report them. Just sharing my story for those who are going through the same thing. Will keep you all poated if they do call back...

Demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to send a cease communication letter (via certified mail with return receipt requested). This is your right under the FDCPA. If they refuse, let them know you will be seeking legal counsel who will get it for you.

I received a call from a Robert Carter he was suppose to be locator .He gave me a reference number and a contact number  I called and they where nationwide . I asked is this a collection call because your contacting my employer. Of course they say there are a prelitigation firm. Then they start requesting money , I advised them to send me docs  to prove this debt. They got upset and said I. Am a fraud and docs will be served and I will be liable for all court fees. The next day same thing I advise not to be contacted at my employer. Next day they call my managers and tell them I'm under investigation  and  lot of others things. He told my boss he be there in a few hours he never showed up. I contacted FTC and my attorney general. I did some research on this company and every time you ask for a address they say no , or they want give it to you. So I dug little further this the address I came up with . I hope this help , this company need to be stopped

The very fact that you have admitted to changing offices, locations, phone #'s proves that you are a scam artist... dumb @$$.  People like you do get caught. Just wait. Probably time for you to change your company name also, however I am sure you are operating under more than just one name as I fell for it twice and didn't realize until later I was contacted by the same person claiming the same b.s. and using the same tactics. You will get caught.

Sounds like a complete scam.  By LAW - the FDCPA - within five days of their initial call to you, the callers must send you a debt validation letter proving the debt is yours and that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  You then have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt.  It is a violation of federal law to tell you that you only have so many hours to call them back or they'll serve you papers.

NEVER pay any caller unless they MAIL - not email or fax - proof that the debt is yours and proof that they have the right to collect.  Any caller who refuses to mail this documentation is owed nothing, per the FDCPA.

Report the callers to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.

I was called 5 times in a row from a blocked number with a voicemail from a woman stating that I will be served and this is my warning to collect on a debt if I did not call back to make arrangements on a payday loan that I had defaulted on a couple months earlier. I called back, the number 8667527953. I was transferred to "Justin" who said he works for the "firm" and had info of where I worked, the amount of the loan, which had now doubles and said that I will be served with court papers tomorrow by a locator if I did not give my bank card and arrange payments. He said the compacts name was nationwide mediation. When I called later the name of the company on the voicemail said ADR. I asked for the address of company and the guy only gave me a zipcode that was 4 digits long and then a building number. I said I needed something in writing and a lawyer would be contacting.

I cant believe that these morons are so stupid.  They call my home saying the kid is a locator for some papers that need to be served to me.  This was my own fault for being so dumb in first place.  I actually told that "kid" on the phone to go and send the locator, and I would make sure my local police department was onsite when they came.  I will tell them that he told me if he came to my door and I didnt accept the paperwork, bad things would happen.  I dont think they are actually stupid enough to come out here.  Do these people have no pride??  Who would ever take a job that you actually threaten people on the phone to pay you money you dont owe.  I wouldnt and dont care how much it paid. they can move around and change phone numbers all they want and let them have that type of life.  These people are just kids working for these out of country loans places and they are the ones that get in trouble.  However, if you want to treat a fellow American like that, than you are no better than the AL QUIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    BOSTON STRONG

I got a call from phone number 877-919-3460 claiming to be Nation wide collection. I want to make sure that this is a legit company before I get scammed again. I called  the company that I received the loan from and ask them and they told me that the collection company that is currently handling my case is called United Debt holdings. I tired to call them but was on hold for a while then forwarded to leave a voicemail. When the guy from Nationwide called me this morning it appeared on my phone as a restricted number and left a voicemail saying that if he doesn't hear back from me within 3 hours then he will have them release my case and they will serve me with papers and at the end he wished me good luck. I'm  nervous that this may be legit and they will come and serve with papers. can someone please advise me and what I should do?

My dear lady,
If you know anything about the law then you should know that your company has broken several laws. You have NO process servers. I have delt with  your frkn company for months now and have had call after call threating me with legal papers.
You are a debt collection agency. That is what your company is under the BBB by the way great job on the F. lol you sorry POS. That is what your company is under your own webpage.
People are getting smart on the scams that fake collectors are pulling and we will see you and your kind out of biz.
Oh, by the way if you was a liget company you would not be posting s*** on this complaint page.
