Again with the "Anonymous" name on ID... It's Info Svcs calling on behalf of March of Dimes wanting a donation. They call constantly. Finally gave in and answered and just told them no.... now they will leave of alone for about six months and then say have a new program to launch or something of this nature and will call again and again until I answer and tell them NO.

Calls 2 or 3 times a day - no message just a buzz on line
| jules 2013-11-11 20:32:20 Unknown |
Call from this number today, caller ID shows "Anonymous". I never answer calls like this one - if the caller is legit, they'll leave a message.
Standard answer, if I accidentally do pick up: "This household does not respond to telephone solicitations or surveys. Please remove me from your list. Thank you." CLICK. They won't care about removing me from the list, but it gets me off the phone without having to listen to their scam spiel.

Have received many calls from various toll free numbers that turn out to be March of Dimes callers. Just received one from this number today Monday 10/21/13 at 12:40 PM. I actually answered this one. Nobody there at first but after saying hello a couple of times someone asked for my wife. I asked who this was and was told it was Larry from March of Dimes. My wife donated to them years ago when her brother did a walk for the MOD. I explained to Larry that we had received many calls from MOD on many different numbers and to please take our name off of their list. I also explained we are non National DNC list. He apologized and said he would remove us from their list. He then repeated the number which I verified. I just hope it happens as we are very tired of being harassed by these calls.

If you have FIOS, you can manage blocking online, etc. Verizon allows you to block certain numbers (up to 10) or turn on a do not disturb feature. You can select 10 numbers to ring through and block the rest all day or during certain times. Just log in to your FIOS and check out all the features. I just entered all those numbers into my blocking. Hope this helps some of you...

These people are the usual fraudulent phonies that call from the same boiler room using different toll-free numbers and phony computer-generated numbers. They are fraudulently misrepresenting that they are calling for the March of Dimes, American Heart Association, ADHD, Disabled Veterans, credit card interest reduction, or anything else, They are beyond the last people on Earth that I would give a credit card number or SSN to over the phone. Most, if not all, of the funds collected for the phony charities will go to the so-called fund raisers. In addition, there is the real, and it happens every minute, risk that if you say $10.00, the bill will come back with $100 or $500, or more, charged to your credit card. You can complain to your credit card company, usually talking to someone in a foreign country that is nasty and hates Americans, and they will tell you to stuff it. The bottom line is to never give an unsolicited caller with an "Unavailable." "Out of Area," or anything similar, phone number your credit card data over the phone. I don't trust the websites of so-called charitable organizations either. If you really want to contribute to a charity, check out their expenses first, which can be obtained from IRS public records online. You will be utterly shocked to find that many of the supposed prominent, old line charities spend 90% or more of their contributions on exorbitant executive and staff salaries and other expenses. It was also publicized on CNN that several supposed veterans charities collected millions and millions in donations, but did not give out single penny for the benefit of veterans.
If you want to really donate to a truly worthy organization, contribute to your house of worship. Regardless of your religious persuasion, you will be blessed for it.

The March of Dimes, or so the caller said. The caller asked which credit card my wife wanted to use for a donation. When she asked them to mail something, they just hung up.

They just wont't stop. March of Dimes, please understand that if I have money to donate, I will. Constant calling only makes me want to give my money to another worthy cause when I have the funds to be able to donate.

Call them back, choose option 1 to listen to their information, then press three when given the option to remove yourself from their call list.

I keep receiving calls from 877-842-5169, and when I pick up they hang on. Verizon, as usual, has been worthless when I have tried to contact them or to put a stop to these phone calls. Anybody know a Federal phone no. to contact?
