Called me asking for Mike.

Some lady was asking for a Daniel Benavides or some other girl. I said she had the wrong number and she said oh, and hung up.

Calling Family members asking for contact information. Stated that we listed family members as references. etc...

A woman claiming to be with GMAC.. First thing they asked for was my social security number... and they couldnt look up me up any other way? Oh and after i gave them my name and number they didnt know who i was or what kind of vehicle i own..

This phone number is a SCAM.  They called me telling me I was late on my auto loan payments, for a Chevy.  Funny since I don't and never owned a Chevy.  I asked for the loan number, the dealership where the car was purchased, and the make and model of the car, all of which she refused to give me until I gave her my social security number.  When I refused she said she must have the wrong person.  Which is funny since she knew my name when she called and had my home phone number.  Do not give these people any info.

My father called to tell me that I received a call from a woman from this same phone #, asking for me, and that she was given my name as a reference from someone named Orlando Jackson. I don't know anyone named Orlando Jackson!!! Also, I moved 2 years ago and all of my contact information was changed, so if this was something legit, they would not be calling me at my parent's house. Very concerned that this is an attempt at identity theft.

Called me at work from this number on the afternoon of 4/8/08.  I sent it to voice mail and they left me a message to call back, but not what it is regarding, so I WILL NOT call back.  They did reference GMAC, which I have frequently used for financing.  I believe they have been calling my home as well.  I have no problems with GMAC, so nobody should be calling me, and if they do, they should identify what the call is for.

This is GMAC. 100% for sure.

reveived text messages continuously for over an hour listing this 8778458860 number. so it looks like they have moved to texting.

I got a call from this number. A man left a message saying he was from GMAC and needed to talk to me about a Chevy Tahoe. Which is funny since I have never owned a Chevy and am not planning on buying one.

Left a message using my wife's name from a previous marriage, stating that they were from GMAC and they were trying to find one of our "possible" neighbors.

This might be a GMAC scam.  People who get arrested and have their cars towed to a yard.  If their are drugs involved in the arrest, the car will be confiscated and/or forfeited by the arresting agency.  Then the car is held at a storage facility until person gets it released, usually by paying in full or court order.  Here, someone sent my client a very suspicious reading letter with GMAC heading the 877 number, no return address, no state, no contact information or web-site, nothing standard from a large corporation.  So, I googled the 877 number and the same number came back to a Flooring Wall to Wall company in Maple Grove, MN.  It lists GMAC-Jose Quintero as a "Consumer/Homeonwer United States of America" and bad puncuation and appears to be a big fake-job.  I know these two companies are not remotely related.  This is a definite scam!!!  The number to GMAC is a "800" number.
