The guy was really rude wouldnt tell me what kind of business it was told me he would file harrassment charges against me cause i kept asking questions and told me to call back from an unblocked number. I dont have caller id. but when i called the number it said north east offices. I googled the number and found posts that said they were a collection agency and used scare tactics.

I got a call on my cell from a guy named Tom Robone. Not sure if the spellling of his last name is right. He said he was from Northeast Firm Inc. in New York. His phone number is 716-810-4872. He told me that I owed $1400 on a payday loan that I had back in 2008. I only borrowed $255 at the time and paid it all back in a month. He claims that I didn't pay it and that papers were being filed and that civil suit charges would be brought against me in 24 to 48 hours. He also claims that he called some woman named "Christina" at the DPS office to try to have my license suspended until I pay this debt. I'm wondering how in the hell does he have all my information and email address. I told Tom Robone that he can have this conversation with my lawyer and that he'll be hearing a list of fraud charges that will be brought against him and his company if they continue to call me. THESE BASTARDS NEED TO BE SENTENCED TO DEATH!!!!

Well I am paying these people and the only number I have available to me is 1-877-847-6648 and that number keeps telling me that it cannot be completed as dialed. I am trying to give information new information to continue my payment plan, they were congenial for the most part with me though they do scare you with talk of taking this further to court and having you arrested?? But I did agree to a small payment monthly plan and they have stuck to it all right and all.. Just like to find another number for them. Thanks for the numbers I will try calling them see if I get anywhere this way..

This place claims to be a legal department, and the people there are paralegals, in short they are just another one of the famous NY(Buffalo/ Cheektowaga area) bottom feeding collection groups, there address lists as 2448 union rd, Cheektowaga NY, funny quite a few other places have this same address as well, “the Offices of Goldstein & Rath” also has the same address listed. They called claiming I owe a debt to a pay day loan company, one that is located in the Bahamas, I asked for debt validation, via the mail, they refuse, saying they already sent it, when I asked when, they just change the subject and get rude. I wonder how a legitimate collector can even try to refuse debt validation in the mail, they have to provide proof that they are legal to collect for the debt, and that the debt is mine, I honestly have no recollection of the company in question. I even asked if they where a collection agency and the say no, they are paralegals working in a legal department. I have dealt with legitimate collection agencies in the past and getting validation in the mail is my right, and never had  any problems before. Something seems very fishy about this. i got a call today from 716-656-8047 asking for me....they said it was in reference to patricia ortiz which is the name of my dads ex wife.My husband answered it and took a message....left a case number and everything...they wanted us to call chase riely at 1877-847-6648 ext 107 file number LD1175 the caller id said the call was from buffalo??? weird. anyways they said it was due to patricia ortiz using me as a reference??? i havent spoken to my stepmother since i was 7 years old....i am now 23. its kinda creepy.

They left a voice mail about my brother.  Do not give people like this anything or any information.  There are lot's of phone as well as internet scams going on these days.  If they have your phone number, they have your address.  Do not give or confirm any information, but tell them to send you a registered letter.  That will put them in the mail fraud category if they are not legitimate.

Received a call last night caller ID 716-656-8047 Northeast Financial.  Person said my husband owed a debt to Zales which goes back several years.  Last year we received a call just like this one and my husband took care of it.  Now they want payment again.  When I asked her name she said it was Kristi Miller and I was to contact her by Thursday at 877-847-6648 Ext 105.  When I questioned what company she was with all she said was we have attorneys here. That was all well and good, but what company, finally she said Northeast Office.  I asked where that was located, no response.  They won't even issue any documentation just need payment right away.  We fell for it last year but I'm not going to this time.

Has anyone had the same problem?

I received a VM today from a guy named frank winters X 117 calling from 716-656-8047. He said He was from the legal dept but did not give business name. He was asking for a statement from me or attorney  & to call back at 877-847-6648.

Mr Lillis called me from this number saying it was regarding a legal matter. He gave no other info and asked me to call him back at x113 with his case number. I have no idea who this is. But I suspected fraud immediately.

this organization claims to be attorneys and third party discloses ----  THIS IS ILLEGAL AND ALL CALLERS SHOULD COMPLAIN TO STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL WITHIN THEIR STATE and NY state since that is the local number they are calling from 716-656-8088.  They refuse to give their address and/or names of "managers."  THEY ARE A LOW LIFE COLLECTION AGENCY THAT BREAKS ALL FAIR DEBT COLLECTIONS ACT LAWS AND CAN BE SUED FOR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR DEBT.  THEY CAN NOT CLAIM TO BE AN ATTORNEY IF THEY ARE NOT AN ATTORNEY.  THEY CANNOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT YOUR COLLECTONS ACCOUNTS.  THEY THINK THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW.

The person calling me said his name was Frank Winters with the above telephone on extention 117.  He was rude threatening to take me to court and get me arrested due to some debt from 2000.  I know of no such debt.  He made me give him a credit card number for $500.00.  I will put this on report to my Attorney General if this continues.  I have called my credit company to put a stop to payment and cancel my card.

They keep calling me too and I don't owe a penny.  I called the credit bureaus and this "debt" is not on my credit report.  The organization has to provide proof to you that money is actually owed before they can take legal action.

i payed the settle only to find out that they are fake and take your money. i got a call from the actually collection agency that delt with the account. did some more diggin and found that they take past due accounts and claim they bought it from them. they never payed the money to the company, they kept it for themselfs. so now i located em and takeing them to court for harrasment and theft

Well I owe a billing with them and now I cannot even get a hold of them at any of the numbers not the 877 number or the 716-656 number nothing.. and well i have new information to give to them that I want to give them to pay the billing monthly so now I am beginning to wonder really.
It seems I cannot get hold of anyone states when I call the 877 number cannot be completed as dialed and when I call the 716 number it is a constant busy signal so did they go out of business??

Having read the other comments, I too have received a call from 'Northeast Offices' NYC. They were quite rude as well and threatened if I did not reply by end of day with a check, they would take me to court and costs would escalate to over $10K!  This supposed debt was over 14 years ago...asked them for the documentation which they refused claiming it would cost mega dollars (of my money) to research and deliver.  When I asked for their website, the guy put me on hold and had to ask someone else for it.  Then said it had 'crashed' that very same day!  I even Googled the address...in the middle of some trucking offices...that certainly isn't an official legal office...not replying!  We'll see if they pursue...

look forward to it, why not, the Judge MUST be fair and also get a Lawyer even legal aid will help.

Here is scope! this is a collection agency out of New York the name is Northeast Collection Agency, they are subsidary of Caine & Webber (searh the internet) they are not a law firm, when they called me they said we are filing a L7 against you, I could find no legal term or ref to an L7 - I became suspiscion, then when I asked them to send me documentation of the monies owed a breakdown, they became hostile! I would rather they take me to court! I will take a chance on the JUDGE. I also have filed a complaint with the VA Attorney General and NY Attorney General. The may be legit but they are not a LAW FIRM and the way they do business is to strong arm you and for me that's BS. We as consumers have rights to even if we DO OWE MONEY - do not let them intimidate you, or be disrespectful to you or strong arm you - CALL THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN YOUR STATE!!!!!!!!

Hi all I just received the same phone. Little does he know this phone call can get his company sued. I work for a credit repair company dealing with collection agents all day, every day. It is ILLEGAL to call someone on their cell phone, it is illegal to misrepresenting themselves, it is illegal to to threatening  to do anything, i.e I will take you to court if you don't pay, I will file with courts if you don't and so on. It is illegal to call you at work if you tell him you can not receive personal call, and he can never ever give any personal information about you or the situation to any 3rd party that includes mother,sisters,children brothers. All you have to do is send him a validation of debt letter making him provide and prove it's your account and what I am doing as we speak is send a cease and desist letter certified mail.If he continues to contact me after he receives this letter I will sue him for harassment and violating my rights.

I've been getting calls from these people too.  They have old debt, some of the accounts, (mine, for instance), was an error on the part of the original company.  These people purchase write off accounts for pennies on the dollar and attempt to extort money from people with threats, lies and insults.  So, person who pays their bills, perhaps you should know what you are talking about before you speak.

Received a call from Buffao, N.Y. from David Michael Anthony at Law Office of Michael Rentoul. Address at Northeast Offices in Seneca N.Y., 1-877-6648 ext. 115 Claimed he represented B of A  and wanted to collect $8700.00 for a 1978 default on a Master Card (bogus).  Told me that I had been investigated by the attorneys there, listed my previous addresses and other personal information. Accused me of defrauding creditors and denying it. By not cooperating I would be served by my County Sheriff's Office with written notification of a lawsuit and a court summons in my county and state of residence (which he named)....and hung up.

You don't know what people's circumstances are for you to be calling someone a loser!
