I have been seeking employment through careerbuilder.com for over 2 months. Applied for any post that I felt I could do for a living. Received a text from 56030 (apptree) with a sad face and asked to call 888-596-5240 a week ago about a warehouse assoc. position I applied for. I replied asking who and where this job was . No reply. Then today, I get another text from 56030 (apptree) call me about a warehouse assoc. position I applied for at 888-595-4884.(txt STOP to cancel).
I replied to send me a local area code and number to call. I didnt need a toll free number. No reply yet!
Im not calling anyone not knowing where the call is going. Could be Africa, South America or Europe and I dont want that phone bill or the job. Whats up with the sad face anyway? And I opted out of any other service company through careerbuilder.com. Makes me wonder.....who's getting this info.

I received a text message from this number a little while ago. Wasn't sure who it was but since I'm looking for a job I called just to check it out. Good thing too, it was the job board I had applied through and looks like I had missed a couple things on my application and they offer a verification of all your info before the application goes over to the actual job people.

Kinda nice that they caught this otherwise I'd look stupid to my potential new boss. Not the best 1st impression...

If they ask you if you want to further your education and verify your address, I expect you will soon be receiving mail from DeVry and Kaplan and Phoenix and all the other useless colleges out there. They are not verifying your information, they are getting it and then selling it. Obviously, if they are making money off of that, who cares if they find you a job. Please correct me if I am wrong and someone actually found a job as a result of this text message. My reply is STOP.

I was a bit skeptical considering it's a text message and I thought it was highly unprofessional, but based upon what other people wrote I called too. Just like everyone else it was a job board that forwards your resume to the company, asks you questions about your education, if you want to further it and your address etc.

This is kind of a new thing, I got a text from Career Network. It was the job board I had been using to look for a new job. They do some kind of prescreening for the employers. Just wanted to know if I was still interested and made sure all my info was correct on my application. Only took a few minutes... Wish me luck

I did apply for a job off craigslist as well but they claim it was from Monster.com and career.com that they got my info. As I stated in my comment further down the page that it is possible to be an identity theft scam. The following is my deal that they told me!

Got a text from this 877-849-1205 number and they said they were career network and said that they had to verify some info from my application that I did online through Monster.com and career.com. Possible Identity theft scam. Don't offer no info just comment yes or no on little details but never admit to whether your Social Security Number is correct or not tell them that if the employer is legit he will get the info at the interview if they even call for the job! Its possible it could be but I have never heard of a company doing pre-screening for employers. This is something to watch out for. Especially being an 877 toll free number coming from possible anywhere in the country!

got a txt msg from 877-849-1205, ID # 56030 asking that I call re the front office assistant position I applied for. I returned the call and the lady asked for my cell phone #. She confirmed they were not the actual employer but merely wanted to confirm the information on my application. When I asked why that was necessary, she replied due to number of people forgetting information or moving and the like. I asked approximately how long the "evaluation" (as she called it) would take and she replied "about 45 minutes." At that point, I terminated the call without providing any information to them.

Applied for a job, then got a call a few days after asking about my resume. Did not seem like anything weird was going on, they said the employer would get my information. Got a call a few days later from the employer and scheduled an interview. Pretty cut and dry.

Hi, Julie - we must have done the same thing!  My guard went up when the text said "Call me about the job" but didn't give a name. ^.^  Looks like it's an info-gathering scam-ish thing.  Boo.

I too received a text message and replied requesting who I should ask for or who called.  No response has been sent back.  So, not sure it is something worth pursuing?  Anyone one else have an interview come from the text message to call this number?

I too received a text asking me to call them back at this number.
she said she was a career specialist, and wanted to verify my contact information. after reviewing my contact info she inquired about my education level and if I was currently in or planned on re-ending college.
she ended the conversation with the employer will contact me if they are interested. she did not revel the employees name.

Filled out a job app at Valuedemployees.com a week ago.  Then I received a text from this number.  They verify personal information then tell you your application has been submitted.  They start to ask you about furthering your education.  It IS a recruiter for several different colleges.   I have seen this before.  They profit from giving your info to colleges as a potential prospective student.

Just got off the phone with Career Network and I called them per request via text message. They offer a prescreen and verification service to its applicants for their employers. The call was brief and was just to verify all of the information I put on my application before it was turned into the management of the job.

I just received a text too. They we contacting me about a job I applied for about a week ago. They did ask about my education level but didn't push me into doing anything like signing up for school. It was a brief call and they explained to me that they weren't the actual employer but that if the employer wanted to interview me that they would call or email me to set up an interview. It was just the job board doing a prescreen of my application information.

got a text, called them back, they said they represented a 3rd party in a job I applied for.  I think they are actually a telemarketer for on line colleges.  Joke on me.
