I get the same stupid can't even understand them calls often, total scam! I usually do not pick up or reject call. If I do pick up, I say call my attorney and provide # but don't think they can understand what I said so I hang up and don't get calls for couple months. Their list of people had to be recycled again LOL.

if people want to call me and talk about something they should not act unprofessional especially when I can hardly understand them anyway.

I keep getting these calls too, the problem is they are looking for a female and I am a male. They keep berating me about legal action against this women whom I don't know and have never heard of. But they still keep calling, I managed to call back and talked to a "Howard Jones" and then to a 'supervisor' named "Raymond" (like mentioned by others none of these people speak very good English). When I demanded to know who he works for he initially refused to answer and then stated the FBI. All I could do was laugh. He stated they would not stop calling because, get this, "I am harboring a fugitive", this women I have never met. I told him send the FBI to my house then and send the police, we'll straighten this out real quick. I think what I need to do is report Mr. "Raymond" to the FBI for faking to be a federal agent. And to the FTC, all this has got to be illegal.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I have had different names from the same numbers as above calling each other a scam and threatening to send police to my address as well as send me to court. When I ask for the name of the company they can't give me a straight answer. This has been going on for the past 2 months. I can't take it any more. What do I need to do?

keep calling my home with threatening message, contact my lawyer and he said its a scam, so if you receive any calls from these 800,866 877 or any company  find out what state they are in and report it to the attorney general then take a warrant out on them for harassment.

We recieved many phone calls from this company at home and work. Nasty messages. We reported them to our local police department and when we call them back and explain to them that we need their address and have reported them to the police they hang up. I called back 10 times and finally explained to an individual named Robert that I needed paperwork to back up their claim and where my attorney can contact them. He told me he would send me documentation and that we would not receive any more phone calls.  It is a scam and everyone should mention legal action against them. They do not like that and also I tried to explain how people operate in the United States not like these idiots.

I have been getting calls from this same number and like others have been told that I have a case against my social. I have asked several times to have the paper work send to me and I always get told that they don't have it. I ask for the company they are working for and they say they don't have to tell me this information. I know the law enough to know that is not true. I have put my number on the do not call list several times but it does not seem to work. The number comes up as unavailable so when that happens I let it go to voice mail. Like others the person who leaves the message is a man whose English is very broken.

These people are ruthless annoying b***tards and I let them know it. I let them know that the calls are being recorded (which I was doing) and that they are being investigated ( I have reported them ) and are getting close to being caught so they better back off and never call my number again and to never try to use my SS # or steal my identity because the Feds are watching. They won't call again..

Same thing happening to me now.  Keep calling me back every so often.  I have given their name and number to our attorney.  We actually did file bankruptcy back in 2006 and i did do business with cash loan companies.  Irregardless, they shouldn't be calling my work and threatening my job.  I would be interested to know how your attorney is handling this.  my email is thewoodwards01@gmail.com

Yeah, I've had this happen before.  They had all this information on me, but it was nothing but a scam.  I have all my bank records, and my credit reports, with nothing remotely related to this "company".  Rather than even try to get involved this time, I just told them they have the wrong number.  Works every time.  ;)

I too just received a call from this number.  Remember getting a call from the same group of people last year. They try and intimidate by threatning legal actions for some cash loan that is not mine.  The thing is they have the last 4 digits of my social and my mother's phone number.

yes I too have received calls from this number Franz Crow? 1131am claiming there is criminal legal charges against me, the funny thing is the same guy(speak no english and lots of back ground callers) from number 866-833-9638 claiming to be Michael Row? at 948am and twice at me work number.  I told him to send me the paper work, he claims he has emailed me 3 times I told him no you did not and to go ahead and take it to court.  He got mad and hung up.  I am sure they will call again with the same script they are obviously ready.  This has been going on for several months and they always have a English name but can't speak it.  Also I received a call from a woman beware!
