Got an automated message at work saying they were trying to reach {first name} {last name} or if we had contact info for {first name} {last name} to call them back at that number. The weird thing is that this person is my boss's oldest daughter and has no connection with the business any other way.

Kept asking to verify my social security number and birth date, I explained that was ridiculous to give a stranger who called to give that info!
Sounds like an attempt of identity theft.

I just got an automated message from 877-857-9757 asking me to call back if i have info about (brother's name). Creepy. I know there are all sorts of people search sites on line that give info including your age, who your relatives are, where you live, even value of your house. I'm not calling back.

Wanted to talk to someone else about a personal matter. I asked what it concerns and they would not say. It was for my son who got stuck with an enormous amount of debt that he thought he had paid from a relationship with the Mother of his daughter.
We can not figure out what she did with the money as she was in charge of the finances and apparently paid NONE and now he not o ly has to pay these debts but also support to her for his daughter{ which he understands} but she is left with no obligations to help pay any of this debt and she also gets the house he bought and is still in his name

this number keeps calling me, I told them they have the wrong number, they literally just called and it said if you are this person press 1, not available press2 or wrong number press 3, I have pressed 3 multiple times yet still get calls, this time I pressed 1 with the intention of telling them off and I get a message saying there is no one available to call this number back, so I hung up and attempted to call back and I then get a message "you have called after business hours" seriously? you can call my house all hours of the day, but you're not even open for business when you call my house? how does this make sense? number will be reported from here on out.

Got a message on my machine today asking me to call this number. The message identified the company as EOS CCA, and said they were debt collectors. They didn't ask for anyone by name, which is suspicious. We don't have any debts that were turned over to collection agencies, so this is either a wrong number or a scam or both!

Whoever they are they refuse to say and won't leave a message. They just keep calling and they're being a pain in my butt. I'm reporting them to the NSA.

I just received a call from these people asking for my deceased husband! He's been gone for over 3 years and has NEVER had this phone number. It was all computer operated, asking me to wait to be connected. Then came back to say I couldn't be connected just now and to call them back... Like I'm going to do that!!?

Third party bottom feeders way past the SOL . Left a message that was not in compliance with fair debt collection practices. Your a day late and I'm a dollar short.

Don't know who these people are but calling my home asking for my sister. Don't even know how they got my number. They only said it was a federal matter. Would not give me any information...just asked me where I was calling from. I told them they should know by looking it up themselves. Funny thing they told me right off the bat!!! I called from my cell instead of my home phone. Who are these idiots? Does anyone know?

Lightly accented fellow asking for "David Spivey" whom I confirmed isn't me or anyone I know. They didn't identify themselves. A collection agency? I don't know.

This company called my Mom's cellphone asking for me...I don't even know how any company got my mom's cell number. She called this number back, and some woman was being a real wench on wheels with her saying if my Mom doesn't have any business talking to them, then just hang up and leave them alone. So my mom hung up. I'm 20 years old, I don't have that much debt if they're debt collectors, I have 3 credit cards and all my payments are on time. Whoever this person is, they left a message saying they're not solicitors or telemarketing and so forth, they left me this number and an extension of 4166. The phone number is 1-877-857-9757.

Are the collection agents scumbags? or the website that advocate not paying bills which inturn has ruined our economy. Proof positive would be the post above this one.

WHY DONT YOU F*** YOUR MOTHER
| Anonymous 2008-03-22 18:41:16 Unknown |
Please do not assume that everyone who works in collections is a deadbeat or scum of the earth and ask how they can go to sleep at night. IT IS A JOB!! Some of the collection agents are, oh my goodness, college students trying to pay for school!! The fact of the matter is, we all know that you may be having trouble paying bills - it happens. If you actually pick up the phone and talk rationally to these people, you will see most try to help you and come up with a viable solution. But you people never pick up the phone.
The fact still remains - you people are the ones who are not paying your bills and raising taxes for everyone else. PAY YOUR BILLS!!!

My initial dealing with CCA was not unpleasant. I received a notice a couple weeks ago stating that an account in my name had gone delinquent. A few years ago I bought my mother a cell phone for Christmas and part of the gift I promised to pay the first year of the bill. I couldn't pay it all up front so the easiest thing to do was put her phone on my account. Two years after this I moved and changed carriers (after ending up paying two years of her cell bill instead of one) but because the cell carrier was being a pain we ended up leaving it in my name and changing the address to her house. Maybe not the best choice, but you figure it's family, right? Well she hit some hard times and didn't tell me that she hadn't been paying it for months. I still have to authenticate that it went into collections, but I got a mail notice about two weeks ago and explained that I would pay it in full in March, as I don't have the cash on hand to just dish out money like that at this point. They were very pleasant about the matter, and they said they would call in two to three weeks to make the arrangements. Four days later I started getting "unavailable" numbers on my phone. I have received 24 "unavailable" numbered calls in total, and then today I get a call from this number saying they have business with me. I don't have a landline these days and I'm not going to waste cell minutes on some unknown caller. I don't fault them for doing their job, who wants to hunt down people who don't pay their bills? I hate having to discuss settling one of my client's bills when I know they can't pay. All the cloak and dagger tactics are ridiculous though. I'll be interested to see how many "unavailable" calls I get after that is taken care of. The sad truth is that if someone's bill(s) gets put into collections then they probably don't have the money to pay it off, so they are just going to assume that whoever they are dealing with is a deadbeat good-for-nothing slacker, so they aren't going to respect who they are calling in the first place. I don't know how anyone could do that job and sleep at night.

I have gotten dozens of calls from them. They said I have no right to refuse calls from them. They will not tell me what they are about until I give them by personal information such as account numbers and date of birth and tax ID number. They said they are NOT a credit agency of any type at all, but will not say what they are other than that they are CCA and they are ready to offer me an incredible financial offer. I reported them to the FCC each time they called. I called them back 8 times today to ask them to take me off their calling list and they refused.
Very nasty telemarketing company! What a scam!

I so appreciate this site and communciation. This company does exactly what was stated. They are hostile and rude. I just question where they get your name and number from, "ESPECIALLY" when you do not have any credit obligations. The advice is excellent. Thank you!

Keep in mind that you don't have to talk with these people. In fact, it's your legal right to refuse all contact with them. If you do call back, I suggest telling them that they are to no longer contact you, and leave it at that. Don't pay them; don't give them any credit card or bank account numbers; don't disclose anything about yourself. Just merely tell them that they are to no longer contact you. They'll be rude and nasty, of course, but that's all bluff. You're the consumer and you're in the driver's seat. So just tell them that they are officially on notice to cease all contact with you, and then hang up. If they continue to contact you, then there are all kinds of fun things you can do to legally skewer them. :)

I've been getting the same RUDE messages, you had bettter call today, etc. I called today, Christmas, office is closed and it said "CCA" was where I was calling.
| Bob Jones 2007-12-11 01:13:18 Unknown |
I believe this number is from a collection agency located in the east coast. They left an incredibly vague message on my voicemail, which they stated it was an important personal matter. They also stated that their call was not a solicitation or a telemarketing call. Also, they said that they'll be in the office till 8pm eastern standard time. I believe this call is linked to or is a part of CCA, Credit Collections of America. I also got another call from 1-800-455-8026. The two people who left these messages have the same messaging style. Its like collection agencies hire the scum bucket of this society ( these people are REALLY RUDE). They can annoy the hell out of you, but they can't physically hurt you.
