This is exactly what my call was about also. All info was left on my answering machine since I did not pick up.

This was a valid call from Southwest Gas regarding the lack of odor in the current gas supply in the area and to not rely on smell alone to determine if a gas leak exists. It gave valuable information about how to determine if a gas leak exists without the normal rotten egg smell that comes in gas. There was no request for credit card or personal information. It did ask to report issues with gas leaks by calling 911 immediately.

The number that shows up on your phone may be the toll-free number on the SW Gas bill, but that doesn't stop anyone from "spoofing" the number so it looks like SW Gas is calling when they are not so that they can get your personal information. If you call back the number everything seems legit for that reason.

I don't know who it is but this is a new phone number and sw gas does not have it. they have my wifes cell, phone,  it has to be a scam.  the account for the phoneis in

Leaves a message on general voice mail to please call their 877#. The message began after recording of the message began, so it only picked up the number and not the entire message. I would consider this a reasonable call except for the fact that

WE DO NOT USE GAS.

So..THAT is how I know that they are going to give me an earful of nonsense when I call their           877-860-6020 number back.

If this was SW Gas, and you don't owe any money, Why do they keep Calling....This number keeps calling me at least 4 times a wk.  I already entered there # to the Ntaional Don't Call Registry lets see if this works.

To play it safe all the time- NOT just for SW gas, BUT for all companies that call.

All is safe if you hang up and call them directly about your account. Don't call the number they called you from. Call their company number directly.

This goes for websites as well that send notifications/emails to your email account.

Don't click on any of the links in the emails. The best way to protect yourself is open up a new browser and type in the website.

This is Southwest Gas calling about their paperless billing options and other programs they have going on.  Not a collection call!!

Appears as a missed call on my phone at work.

I got one of these calls as well...actually my teenage daughter answered and the scumbag told her that this was her "last warning" which of course freaked her out......until I took the phone and told him he obviously had the wrong number and needed to stop his threats because our bill was paid in full.  Thank heavens I didn't give him any information.  I then turned around and called Southwest to give them an earful about having someone call and threaten me.....unacceptable even if I hadn't paid the bill.   They claimed it was not them calling, which is what sent me here looking for who it was calling then!   This one could be pretty bad for someone who perhaps hasn't paid their bill....I can see this guy intimidating you into giving a credit card number, he was pretty rude.  Thankfully I know better...but my daughter wouldn't have (she does now, we had a long talk, lol).   Spreading the word to friends and family via email so they don't fall victim.   I called Southwest back and told them that I'd found these reports and gave them the phone number scammer used, but Southwest didn't sound very interested.   Going to think about it a bit first, but might just email this information to the media.....others need to know about this!

Just got one of those for a line for a business that has a current SW Gas account.  So something's fishy.  Yep, sounds like a scammer.

this is their cust ser #, being spoofed by a scumbag debt collector,.. phishing for cc, ss, checking act #s...southwest gas corp never calls its customers & dosn't block caller id with "not provided"
