WELL, IT LOOKS LIKE THOSE 877 NUMBERS HAVE STARTED ON ME, NOW.
FIRST IT WAS 877-213-2767 AND I GOT SOOO TIRED OF THAT PHONE RINGING EVERY DAY AND NIGHT THAT I DECIDED TO ANSWER IT, TALKING IN A VERY STRANGE WAY OR MISERABLE LANGUAGE THEY COULD BARELY UNDERSTAND...BUT, THEY ASKED TO SPEAK TO ME BY MY NAME AND I TOLD THAT THAT NO ONE BY THAT NAME LIVED HERE ANYMORE, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THEY COULD 'UNDERSTAND IT OR NOT!!!  I TOLD THEM THAT MS. SO AND SO 'NO LIVE HERE NO MORE.' SHE ONCE WAS HERE, NOW GONE, NOT KNOW WHERE, THEN I ASKED THEM 'MAY I ASK WHO IS CALLING FOR HER?  THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE HEART ASSOC.  AND THAT WAS THE LAST I HAVE HEARD FROM THEM, SO NOW, I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO TRY THE SAME THING WITH THIS 877 NUMBER.  I JUST HOPE IT WORKS, THIS TIME.

I CERTAINLY WISH SOMEONE COULD PUT A STOP TO THESE CREEPS.  IF THEY NEED MONEY SO BADLY, WHY DON'T THEY DONATE, THEMSELVES?  AH, HA! GOOD QUESTION TO ASK THEM NEXT TIME.  I THINK I WILL ASK THEM JUST HOW MUCH THEY HAVE DONATED OR IF THEY ARE 'DONATING' THEIR TIME, OR IF THIS WAS THE 'BEST JOB' THEY COULD FIND?  CREEPY CREEPS!!!

Another website says it's Comcast Telemarketers. If possible get an answering machine that allows various messages or functions to be set up on certain incoming caller IDs. When I get a call where no one leaves a message I leave my message #5 for them. It tells them to leave a message or the next time they call their called will be blocked. If they call after that I set the machine to reject calls from that number. Works great and my phone doesn't even ring! I tried recently to buy a similar answering machine but it seems you simply cannot buy an answering machine with such features. They all had phones which I have no need for.

P.P.S. I've recently DLed a 1 Khz tone sound file. I might set up one of my machine replies with it. It can definitely hurt ones ears if loud enough. Problem is a lot of these calls are computer generated which I thought was violating a federal law.

I called the 877-869-7036 number safely from my FAX line and got through directly to Comcast and found an account issue. Apparently the machine that called my number didn't leave a voicemail.

THEY KEEP CALLING MY HOUSE.MAKE THEM STOP

I hate the a$$holes and wnat them to quit calling my number. What must I do to make them stop? This is just CRAP

This number is Comcast. I went through the numerous menus, just pressing buttons until I finally talked to a human. They told me it was an automatic dialer and would only pick up to a human voice. If an answering machine picks up it disconnects. They have supposedly put my name on their Do Not Call List. WE'll see what happens.

I first asked why they were calling everyday, and they said they had no idea. No billing issues or anything else. I'd bet they were trying to get me to sign up for the digital phone service or upgrade my cable.

This number has been calling for months, but I never answered and they have never left a message.  Today I answered and the woman confirmed they are with Comcast.  I asked them to stop calling me and she said it will take up to 30 days to be placed on the Do Not Call list.

It's Comcast Cable. When this number calls it means that whatever special rate you were receiving you are no longer getting and they want to offer you a new deal. My triple play $99 a month expired and they called to offer a new deal.

Call almost daily.  Leave no message.  Calling back the number sends one into an eternal telephone tree.  Infuriating.  We've asked that they not call back--to no avvail.

Quite frankly, consumers' knowledge isn't at par with the current FCC rules and therefore telemarketers are being criticized. Telemarketers are sales people, sales people have real jobs, real jobs that make money. Sales people are among the richest of many professions, just as long as they can sell. However, not to detract from the point, people within the industry no matter what company they're from, will call, and if no one is there or if there's an answering machine they cannot leave a message. It's a rule the FCC says to follow. National DNC is in place to prevent companies from donating to FCC large fines, they comply, but if you are on national do not call and recieve a call from t-marketers it's because you have a business relationship with them and must request an internal DNC entry. Majority of the time customers do not call in about services, sales people call to inform and to educate about new offers. It makes the world go around. Next time you get a call from a telemarketer they may benefit you greatly, but at least have the courtesy to be polite, it is a human being on the other end and they are doing their job. You wouldn't kiss your mother with the potty mouth that you use to berate telemarketers would you?

I hate these a--hole-! Someone should find these low lifes and beat them senseless. I've really had it with these jerks calling my house almost every single day. Get a real job why don't you.....

They call every night at about 6:30 PM  (dinner time).  I don't answer and they won't leave a message.  They are obnoxious a--h---s.

I just received a call from this number yesterday, Tuesday, January 20th, a a couple of minutes past noon just as I was starting to listen to the new Presidents inauguration speech!
When they will call apparently has no boundaries.  I am on the National "Do Not Call" list but am a basic subscriber to COMCAST cable which is why I suppose this business feels it can ignore the "Do Not Call" list.

I just received 2 calls from this number and both were within 2 minutes of each other.  They both hung up on me.  So I call back the number and I get the recording "THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE/YOU HAVE REACHED THIS NUMBER IN ERROR".  WTF!

Most answer machines pick up after 4 rings. They hang up so no long distance charges. When I get a call, I mute the TV, answer the phone and not say anything. After a few seconds they come on the line and after 30 seconds of "hello, hello, hello" they hang up. Usually by the 3rd call, they quit.

This is a Comcast telemarketer.  I called Comcast and talked to a customer service rep and told them to quit calling me and they have supposedly put me on an internal Do Not Call list attached to my account.  Let's see how long my cable works now!

I have gotten this call daily.

This is comcast trying to sell you their phone service.
It is a computer calling, when the answering machine takes the call it hangs up. If you answer, you can hear the clicking over to a telemarketer.

I am on the do not call list and was called by 1-877-869-7036

Have called 4 times in 2 days to tell me my credit score is low.  In fact, it is not.  They won't stop calling even though I told them to and I am on the national do not call registry.

belsouth uses the same techniqe as well as the same service local and india. You must request in person to the Co.'s customer service person (not a machine) and get a log # to report to the Co.'s customer service mgr.. If you have service with the company they may call to solicite services to you.

I don't think they're calling and hanging up to make you call them back.  They have you on an automatic dialer system which calls you relentessly and doesn't leave messages; they only transfer to a life rep when they detect a human voice.  The solution is to report them to the FTC, pick up the phone one time and tell them to stop because you have reported them to the federal goverment.  That should stop them.
