Receive a call from Publisher Clearing house stating i won 6 magazines for free for the next 48 months. Only needed to pay for 2 additional ones that i can change at anytime for one cheap price.   once they got my name and address and type of credit card i had, they hung up.  The next day a "courtesy call" was made asking me how my service was. She was the nicest sales person i have ever spoken with. she stated that she needed my expiration date. when I told her i was uncomfortable giving her that information she hung up on me.
Later that day i received a text telling me i won a $100 gift card.  when i called and ask who this was she said i won through some magazines. I told her i wouldn't be given any credit card info over the phone and she too hung up on me. here is the number i called 877-439-0876 and the text came from 1-973-873-3081

I received a call from them for a $250 Walmart shopping voucher.  I regret not looking at these comments beforehand....I'm pretty sure I just got scammed.  So freaking frustrating and it's my fault for being dumb enough to believe what they had to say!

LOL... That is too funny.. I have my cell set up not to answer unrecognized numbers, so they left me a message. While I wasn't born yesterday, so I looked it up. Well I called them back and messed with them. I HATE scammers.

I too just received a phone call with the same message, "Hello this is Emily in the Mount area. I have some good news and bad news for you. The good news is you have been selected to receive our $1,000 online shopping spree. The bad news is that I can't get in touch with you."

Called from a (423) 317-9594 number. Wanted me to call them back at (877) 859-5199.
I was suspicious and decided to check it out online, and sure enough after reading all the comments here proves it was definitely a scam. Glad I didn't call back and waste my time. Hoping no one falls for this! Thank you to all the previous comments also :)

I had a voicemail from this number (877-875-2099), saying that I had won a $1,000 online shopping spree from...some company name I've never heard of and now cannot remember, which made me suspicious right away. So, I called it back and the same girl answered and asked me what my number was so I told her and then she said that there was no record of my phone number in their system. I see other comments saying this is a scam, well, they aren't that good at it then. I would agree with these earlier comments. I'd tell them no thank you. I'd never give my info to some random person calling me with some bull like this!

Wow I got this same call this morning. I woke up and I had a voicemail so I called them back... Said that I won online shopping spree. WHICH I FELL FOR b/c sometimes when I am bored at work I sign up for Sweepstakes.  They told me That I could get 4 mag for 1.99 per week for 20 months. did the math and it came out to about $400 bux. so I would have had a profit of $600 If i paid it in full right away so I wouldn't have to make payments....

Has anybody actually agreed to doing this?? And what happened??  Has anybody actually gotten a giftcard in the mail??

I'm going to cancel my Card tommorrow morning and let my bank know what is going on.

I am glad I looked this up because i would actually think I had won...

Lady that called me was Tracy. she said she was the manager of the company

4233170554 and also a missed call from unknown and a call from 5616924228

I also have missed calls from 3072155005 and 8654758617

My dad is a switch tech and at his work he can change his phone number to anything that he wants... These people might have access to change their phone number as well to different area codes. who knows.

I just got the same call from Kim from the Mountain Area - something like that. She said the same script - good news is you won 1000 shopping spree, the bad news is I didn't get a hold of you. Not occasionally I sign up for these things so I'm glad to see that it's apparently a scam.I just wonder what all of us have in common and how they are getting our phone numbers - i.e. why are WE being targeted??

Received a call from Kim stating I won a $1,000 shopping spree from publishers clearing house, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH PUBLISHER'S CLEARING HOUSE! Spoke with Matt who is the supervisor he states that the magazines can  not be canclled.  I asked to speak with his supervisor he stated that he is the "Top Dog" you can  not go any higher than him.  He was not willing to give his full name or his company name, he also stated they did not have an address for the company. This IS A SCAM. Whatcompany can not provide you with a name or address of the company? DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION THEY WILL TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT!

I hate crap like this because I am so broke I want to believe it is true, its just a good thing I have learned not to give out any information. The lady who called me sounded like she was reading from a script and told me the exact same thing that I had been selected for a 1000$ online shopping spree and then asked me my phone number, which is kinda weird being that they called me first. It sounded okay to begin with because I have had many other offers similar to this one but this call just sounded different and more professional and they made it sound like it was real because I didn't have to subscribe for anything or fill out a million surveys or anything. they didn't ask for my email or any other info but I told them I am unemployed and then she asked what my husband did and I didn't give any info on that except the type of work he does and she didn't even say that I would have to pay shipping and handling. and then just when I was starting to believe that perhaps my luck had changed just enough to actually win something she started asking me about debit and credit cards, good thing I don't keep any I told her I use nothing but prepaid cards that I buy myself and then she asked how I pay my bills and I told her cash and then she started to sound a lil aggravated and asked if I had a checking account, I said I closed it down a few months ago and without any hesitation she said "well you have to have a valid checking account number and then hung up". What the hell? If I have to have something to win something then I don't need to win it. I will believe I actually win a prize if I get a certified letter in the mail, or publishers clearing house shows up at my door, because if it is a legitimate win then they legally have to send a certified notice.

Just like many of you, I got a call from one of the shopping spree $1000 scams at   4233187634 claiming to be Mountain Area co. And they wanted me to call back before 6pm to claim the prize.  Watch out for that!
But yesterday I got a call from some lady on an unlisted number; who wanted to do the magazine scam.  What is this world coming to, when you cant keep your numbers, phone or anything else private.
Please dont believe them and never say the word Yes during any of the conversation.  Say something else like uhum or anything that meens the same thing.  Just not Yes!!!!  If they do have your card information they can use the Yes to place it in another part of the conversation.  And they you said Yes to buying $1000 worth of murchandise.  Be careful!!!

I also have just received a phone call telling me that I won a $1,000.00 on line shopping spree.  In the meantime I was looking up the phone number here.  Thank you so much for all your postings.  When I told Heather that I had looked them up on line and I beleived this was a scam, she stated well I'm sorry you believe everything you read and hung up!  Well they won't be getting any of my personal information.  Thanks to all of you again!

So glad I decided to check this out.  I just received the same phone call a couple of weeks back and they left a voicemail, her name was Kim, and said the same thing I have good news and bad news, good news, you won a 1000 dollar online shopping spree bad news is I didn't get in touch with you so call back and this is the same number for me to call back.  Well this morning I decided to call it back and see what the deal was and she asked for a credit card, Mastercard or Visa I then called my husband bc we are currently having to pay for a scam we got into a few weeks ago, so glad for these comments.
