Got a call from 503-946-3571 today.   I googled it, and was given a location of Astoria Oregon. Next, I found comments from others who said that the robot told them to call 877-878-3038, so I checked that number via google, and found it was the phone number for Teleport Communications Group in Tigard, Oregon...interesting, because Teleport has been out of business for 10+ years.  
After reading the posts on this site, it looks like Card Services has a phone phreak on the payroll, since I see references to locations all over the place.      I have placed them on my call screening list, but I only have the option of listing 12 numbers...too bad, because I keep getting calls from all sorts of scammers, phony collection services, and whatnot.   Guess I'll check out Google Voice.

You might have been given an indirect clue about someone who is committing identity theft.  You may want to check with Social Security.   There are a lot of wicked people out there who do this sort of thing.

I was called by a Lady named "Jan" looking to collect a debt from my past marriage for another company.  I could not pay them due to not having funds.  So she got rude and pretty much ended our call.  She "Jan" called back a few months later getting the same results from me.  I did take notes and she was quite rude to me.  Trying to catch me in lies from past conversations she had notes on.  I couldnt pay but said i had her info for when I could pay, i would.  Well time came to when i could pay and called her back.  Got Jan right away.  I negotiated with her a amount that i though was fair for me.  She said she needed time to get it approved and would call me back the next day.  She called back and said it was approved.  Cool.  So i paid and that was that.  She said i would have a letter in the mail stating the amt was taken care of.  Letter never came.  Called back a few months and she said must have gotten lost.  Updated info just in case and she said she would send another.  Well fast forward to a week ago.  I get a call from the original creditor asking for the remaining balance of the debt owed.  I was like "huh?!"  Well my original amt was paid to them, but it was far too low for them to accept.  Meaning "Jan" never called them for approval and just paid to collect commission.  So get EVERYTHING in writing when dealing with these folks.  AND request the original creditor and deal with them.  This one is costing me.  They want to rush you into paying.  Don't let them!  Get in writing!

I don't think it's a scam,however, I think it's odd that in my case they called from a local number that is listed as a cell number?  The call came through my direct dial at work.  When I answered the phone there was a recorded message asking me to call their 800 number (or 877 in this case) to get info on a very important business matter.  I had a Total Card account some time ago w/my ex-husband.  I'm sure it's one of the many bills he has failed to pay!!

I called the number back today and they said i had an outstanding debt from 1999 with total card and advised no i do not and told them to stop calling me. I believe it is a scam because why would they wait to call me on a debt from 11 years ago.

This guy with an accent (Middle Eastern) called me yesterday from a number that was local (I live in WA state). He asked for my brother, who wasn't home at the time. I asked him who he was, I forgot what name he gave me, but it was "American"-sounding. Mind you, he sounded Middle Eastern!!!! Plus, I asked him where he was calling from and he told me his name again. I asked him AGAIN where he was calling from and he told me he'd call back later and to have a good day then hung up.

My brother's identity was recently stolen, and he is mentally incompetent. He got wrapped up in pay day loans, and these foreigners were harassing him at work. Not knowing any better, he gave them his bank account information so they would stop calling. Not surprisingly, they stole ALOT of money out of his bank account. He had to close that account and open a new one. He went online and did some research (I know someone told him to do this because he couldn't have figured to do this on his own) to find out that they were scammers. He also went to the police and filed a report (again, I know someone told him to do this as well).

That same local number called AGAIN today and left a message for him, and it was a female's voice, Middle Eastern. Said that it was a business call and for him to call back at 877 878-3038. That's when I Googled the number and realized, as I suspected, that it was another scam.

My brother has been getting these calls for a couple months from all types of random people with Middle Eastern accents, giving "American"-sounding names (like Officer Jonathan Lloyd). A couple of them even threatened to take him to court for debts that he owed. I'm sick of these overseas scammers, and I'm pissed that my brother gave out MY phone number for these nuts to call MY house. I can only block so many numbers and they find other numbers to call you from. AND I had to be rude to a couple of them and tell them not to call back for him again.

PLEASE BE VERY AWARE of who you give your personal info to- the same thing that happened to my brother can very well happen to you!!!

Caller ID said phone number was (503) 946-3571 but the message left said to call (877) 878-3038.

Got this call for my husband, who has not had a credit card before, they would not tell me what the call was for so I did a free annual credit report and there is nothing negative there so I say, who cares, if they are not reporting to the credit agencies and they don't want to tell me what the deal is, they can p!ss off.

Well I just called them and removed my name off of their call list when I told them that they had the wrong number.  They just asked for my number and looked up the name Mark.  Told them there was no Mark here and it was removed...guess I got lucky.

I just got a call last night from this same number. 832-260-0417 D. Wasmund on the caller ID, automated message asking for my husband saying "not a sales call...blah blah....blah...haven't called the 877-878-3038 back and don't plan to.

I just got a call from them also,stated they were total Card and calling about a patpayday loan which has been paid off and I do have proof.Told her I did not owe any money and not call either me or myfamily and harress them againor I will sue them.She did likewise and hung up.Unfortunely I had gotten involved in the paydayloans but have them all paid so that is why they keep calling me.Hope it end soon.

OK, these hacks have been calling for about a week. i finally returned the phone call via their 800 number.
Seems they want to know who I am but refused to identify themselves until i pushed them. Said it was Total Cards in Sioux City South Dakota. Told them my answering machine picked up their call and it said " business i was currently conducting"...1st lie I am not currently conducting any business, especially with TOTAL CARDS.. Girl asked me to verify my name which i did, then asked for my home address and last 4 of my social security number. I REFUSED!!!!! NEVER GIVE OUT THIS INFORMATION TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE~ Remember THEY CALLED YOU! Secondly I asked who Mr. D Wasmond was who's name popped up on my caller id which listed this # (832) 260-0417 . I looked it up and it shows a land line out of Houston Texas. Odd isn't it when they said they were in South Dakota. I proceeded to ask for information about their company. Address of Company, Account Number (which they refused) and phone reps ID number and name.  I then instructed the girl that NO INFORMATION from THEIR COMPANY HAD BEEN SENT! IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ANY COLLECTION AGENT TO TRY AND VERIFY A  DEBT OVER THE TELEPHONE ( 1986 FAIR CREDIT ACT) I then informed this person to not call my private residence number and told her that for each violation without proper documentation FIRST IN WRITING from their company was a Federal Crime~ She got very silent and i told her not to call here anymore UNTIL THEY VERIFIED THE SO CALLED DEBT IN WRITING FIRST, WHICH IS FEDERAL LAW! DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING WHATSOEVER! THIS IS HARASSMENT AND THEY KNOW THEY ARE VIOLATING THE LAW. YOU CAN SUE THEM IF THEY CONTINUE TO DO THIS IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. EACH VIOLATION IS $1,200 DOLLARS DEPENDING ON THE STATE YOU LIVE IN. DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING MAKE THEM SEND IT TO YOU IN WRITING FIRST WHICH IS WHAT THE LAW SAYS WHEN A CREDITOR OR COLLECTION AGENT CALLS . THEN DISPUTE IT IN WRITING! THEY HAVE 30 DAYS TO RESPOND YOU CAN INCLUDE A CEASE AND DISSIST LETTER ALSO DEMANDING THEM TO NOT CALL BUT ONLY CONTACT YOU BY MAIL ONCE.   Told them not to call back until documentation was sent, woman got angry and hung up...THEY DON'T LIKE IT WHEN YOU KNOW THE LAW~

"Card Services" isn't the name of any company. Scammers love it when you call them back!

I called the number and a pleasant women answered the phone in a short time and identified the company as cards services.  I told her my first name and the names of the 2 differnet people they were trying to contact at my number and she said my number was removed from their system.  Very quick and painless.  Time will tell if I was successful.

Multiple calls, automated message for a person I have never heard of. I will not call them back, so I don't know what they want.

The woman called and asked for my daughter who died at birth 34 years ago.
When i asked if this was a sick joke she became very rude, would not identify the company nor would she let me speak with her supervisor. She eventually, hung up on me after I asked to speak with the supervisor repeatedly.
An hour later they called again and hung up.

Extremely rude.  They keep calling and when I finally do call them back they will not say who they are or what they do.  After calling them 6 times in a row, due to my anger and frustration, they told me they are "Total Card".

Ditto.  Same exact thing happened to me.  Finally, finally, finally they told me they were "Total Card" whatever the heck that is.  The whole thing was infuriating.

Got many calls  from this number too, though the number on the phne was 832-260-8417 which appears to be a Texas number, but they asked for a call back at the 877 number. They called me at work and asked for my wife under her maiden name which she hasn't had in five years and she doesn't work at the same place I do anyway.
 I picked up today and they would not tell me where they were calling from. They finally hung up. Let's see if that's the end of it.

just got a call from these people saying this is an important call for ------- never said a name said it was not a sales call and was about business i was conducting left and 87708783038 number as a call back but on the cid it was d.wasmund 832-260-0417.

We just had a new phone number set up as a house line.  We are getting bombarded by telemarketers and who I am assuming are debt collectors asking for someone who may or may not have had this phone number before us.  I got tired of these automated phone messages from this number on our answering machine, so I called it this afternoon to let them know they had the wrong number.  I thought I was doing them a favor.  The woman on the other end was rude beyond words and I had to ask her more than once to remove my phone number from their call list.  Then she claimed to have done it and hung up.  I called back and asked to speak to someone different, a manager, perhaps.  Of course, no manager.  If they call again, I am filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  Just go to the National Do-Not-Call's website, and you can file a complaint against harassment from debt collectors, regardless of whether they're looking for you or another individual.

They keep calling for someone whom died yrs ago and when I called to tell then to stop calling that this is a wrong number they asked for the number and said the name and I told them they have a wrong number that the person has never lived there. the gal said she would remove the number but then called back asking for me for the same debit???

They have been calling my inlwas upto 5xs a day and will not stop calling them they are elderly I called and they were rude to me wanted my info and said that I had debit they needed to talk to be about I told them I would have my Atty call them they said its too late for an ATTY so I hung up on them as I stated I will have the Atty call then for harressment lol.....

This company has been calling my brothers house and asking for me for over two weeks.  I have never lived there and we have different last names.  He told them I did not live there and I called the number today.  They were very rude and told me I owed a balance from 1999 (almost 12 years ago now) and they want over $2000.  I think this is crazy and I do not know what they are talking about!

I was told the business was called Card Services.

Multiple calls over the past 3 weeks.  It is only an automated call, never a real person.  I called the number this morning (Jan 11, 2011)  The person answering the call would not identify thecompany or the nature of the call.They said I'd called them, so what did I want.  I told them I was returning their call.  They asked my name.  I told them I was Michael ..........  Evidently they didn't like that I was female and claiming my name was Michael.  Said they must have the wrong number and would not give me any information.  In fact I am Michael's spouse but am sick to death of these calls.
