I get at least 2 calls from this number every day.  The first call is usually between 7 and 8AM, and since I own my own business, I don't normally wake up until 9am.....which is very frustrating!  They keep looking for a Donna Gibson, which is obviously not me!  I had this happen with my last phone number too, which is why I finally changed it....only to have it happen again, this time looking for someone else.  So frustrating!!!

Last night I recieved a phone call from my adult child who lives quite a few states away from me to inform me that they had just gotten a phone call (1-877-878-7734) from a man calling himself Corey Banks who had asked them for information concerning myself such as my address, phone number (home, cell, and work) stating that they needed to get in touch with me concerning a venture I had"In the works" that had failed and they were well aware of my situation and thought they might be able to help. My child informed me that they had stated that there wasn't any legal concerns I had to worry about- they just wanted my family to know that they were there only to help and nothing more. Needless to say all my family did was get his information and said they would relay the message next time they talked to me.
I have seen this tactic done by collection agencies many times in the past. At one point a next door neighbor had been contacted instead of myself because they said they didn't know how to get in touch with me and wanted to know if this person might be able to supply them with my contact information so they could just leave me a message. This so-called slick move was done because my neighbor's phone number was listed in the phone book and they had my physical address so "Dick Tracy" decided thru the process of elimination they would find the closest neighbor they could and try to get them to devulge my personal information so they could drop off some important documents that required my immediate attention. The sad part of all this is that as soon as I got the number they wanted me to call them back at I went right to the web and found that exact telephone number listed on this website.

I too get many, many calls from this number and I do feel bad for all the debt-free people that have to deal with this crap.  I don't understand the tactics of people like these collectors, when I want something, I'm very nice in asking! If these collection agencies would just put on the their big boy or girl pants and treat people with respect, whether it's a debtor or innocent victim, they may make progress. All they do now is create resentment and frustration.

I received four calls from this number in just one day, never a message. Probably a bill collector - or trying to be!

Mercantile Adjustment Bureau is a collections agency. GOD help you if some deadbeat had your number before you got it. It's very frustrating to get repeat calls when you chose the opt out option during previous calls to you from the very same company. Today, I had to get online and track down a number at which I could call them back at. When I asked a young man for assistance removing me, of course there are no options for this when you find their CORRECT phone numbers, he seemed annoyed that I got through to him & he rudely put me back into the main menu without any assistance or directions at all. Because it isn't my debt and I don't know the deadbeat, I had to act as if I knew what type of debt (student loan, banking, medical, etc.) the deadbeat had until I finally came across a lady who transferred me to the proper person, taking time out of my day so they will stop calling me. The lady told me that she would be able to take my number out of their records. I hope this holds true.

Debt collectors and telemarketers, etc. should not be allowed to call from a number at which they cannot be called back. Particularly for debt collectors, they have many angles to work if they are tracking someone down. It is frustrating to keep getting collections calls when they are NOT calling for you, you don't even know the person they're calling for, and the debt is not yours.

When the incorrect person is being called, they should not have to turn into a detective to find a working # to call these people back just to get taken off any list and they be able to speak to a human being when being called in the first place. The message provided a toll free number one time and hung up. Of course I was in no position to take that number down & I guess many people would be in the same situation. I was called repeatedly by a robo dialer with a voice message for a deadbeat who didn't pay their bill(s) and at some point had my phone number before I moved and was "lucky" enough to get it. Why are the good inconvenienced for the bad?
