I got a call from this number today. They states it is in my best interest to call them back. They provided a case number and said I have until Friday to respond. I just ignored it since they come up as unknown on the caller id. I believe them to be some scam debt collector. The person left her name as Jacqueline Davis. 877-881-0891 x228

I received a voicemail from a Daniel Burke both on my work phone & my cell phone. It came from a blocked #, but the # he gave in the message to call back was 877-881-0891. He did not identify the name of his firm & referred to the 877# as the "filing firm" & to contact them with questions or to obtain details. He also said he has documentation he required to service out to me either to my residence or job site tomorrow & said he needed me to present myself with a valid form of ID & a witness to sign off. He also said "You have been notified I will be seeing you shortly. Be ready & waiting for me when I show". Obviously none of this is legal. He did not identify the name of the firm he is employed by or represents, & is not a county sheriff. I will be reporting this to the FTC.

I'm so glad I googled this number and was able to come to this website and review everyone's comments.  I've been receiving the same messages with a file number at my job, but they never indicate what the call is in reference too.  They have left two different numbers to call back. 1-877-881-0891 and 1-877-873-8509.  I will be sure to file a complaint with appropriate authorities as soon as possible.

Tell them you r recording the call, be calm, tell them you are requesting the information they have, tell them they have to send it within 5 days of your request. If you do not get it within the 5 days, then you send the certified mail receipt with a return to you as they will have sign for it informing them that since they did not provide you the must stop calling you at once. As this is your proof that they did not follow the law, i would also inform in that letter that if they contact you again, you will take legal action against them, keep a copy of the letter you send, that way you have proof that. Also go ftc web site and file a complaint.

I have received two of these calls for a party who doesn't live here, and never has.  I have had this number for 15 years so I don't know who they are referring to.  That said, if I was getting these calls daily "for years" as you've describe, that warrants a telephone number change.  Peace in the home is worth the price.  True "you shouldn't have to change your number" but if you have been harassed for years aren't you worth it?

I've received TWO called from two separate numbers today. I did a little digging and here's what I found...

Firstly, I've never taken out such a risky loan. If I needed cash I would contact my bank or approach family. On to my light research:

I received a phone call from the same area code demanding I call 877-881-0891. This number comes back to Turning Point Solutions ( http://www.turningpointsolutionsllc.com/contact.html ) which has the address of 3221 Southwestern Blvd. Suite 120 Orchard Park NY 14217.

About 20 minutes later, I received a call prompting me to call 888-878-5206 which points to Apex Capital Solutions, LLC. ( http://www.apexcapitalsolutionsllc.com/contact.html ) and they have an address of  3221 Southwestern Blvd. Suite 120 Orchard Park NY 14217. They used a phone number local to me in the 262 area code.

A quickie search on Google Maps, using Street View pointed to very little but further digging shows that the address is a UPS Store ( http://mojo.myfoxphilly.com/shipping/orchard-park/ny - scroll down a little bit to see the entry for that business ).

I contacted the UPS Store and they're aware of possible fraudulent activity connected to box number 120 and have begun to refuse mail related to it for lack of payment to rent that box.

I spoke with my attorney who advised me that this is a typical scam where these fake companies set up phone numbers that are constantly changing. Their ultimate goal is to obtain your financial information and get you to pay them money that you do not owe. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. File a complaint with the BBB, your local police department, the FCC, state attorney, etc....

I received a call from these people on my cell phone which has an area code of (203)...message left stating just what "Notes User" comment stated.  Okay, that's one call from.  A friend of mine down south called me to let me know a voice message was left on his cellphone with same message.  I had him check the phone number of the call he received and he said it was an area code of (225) but voice message same as the one I received on my cell phone to call back the 877-881-0891 number, then press opt 1.  Well, I'm furious at this point for the simple fact an old friend of mine was called who was clueless as to why they called him.  I was clueless too.  Well, I called the toll free number from my cellphone, pressed 1, and some young lady answered.  She sounded, at first, like she was unsure of what to say.  Then she proceeded to ask me if I was (said my name).  I said yes and asked her what was the call about.  She stated I had insufficient funds from a returned check.  Okay, what returned check?  She said I made arrangements to pay $200 on such and such date.  I did!!!???? I told her send me something in the mail backing up what she was saying and the original debt they claim I owe.  Well, at that point, she started raising her voice and I raised mine...heffa hung up.  After that, I proceeded to research the number and found all these comments.  I then called the 877 number again to ask for their address...she answered and called me by name again without me even identifying myself (I guess caller ID does wonder..lol).  She acted as if she didn't want to give me the address but she started rambling it off to me (gave an address in Cuyaga, Chuyaga, NY or whatever the hell she said).  I then asked for a manager/supervisor...told me to hold on and never came back to phone.  And that was that.  But overall, they can go to hell.  Because if a debt collector can't send you info in the mail in regards to a supposed outstanding debt, then they are not legit.  So don't be scared, fooled, or whatever when they threaten you with court summons, jail, sending someone on your job, etc.  They are full of b.s.

TPS is the caller.  I've had several calls from these guys including a couple threatening to serve me papers at my workplace.  Papers have never been delivered.  Even had one call where they stated they had sent papers via certified mail but never received the notices, and I know the USPS makes three attempts to deliver before returning the item.  They claimed it had been returned but that was BS.

Process servers never announce their intentions to deliver summons or papers.  They just deliver them.  One other call I received stated that I should consider myself served at the time the phone message was left, but again, that was BS since you are not served until you receive the summons or papers.  Based on the other responses on this number I would say this is definitely a scam and they will probably keep trying to get money from you even after the full debt has been collected.

Received the two following messages, as transcribed by my Google Voice. (they called from 919-330-1210)
After receiving the first message I called them back, and was told they obviously had the wrong number after speaking with me for a few minutes. They did apologize and was told I would not be called again by them.

They have not kept their word, as evidenced by call #2. I guess their legal department will have to have a chat with MY legal department.

Scotty, and all, just got a call from 713-422-2196 with automated voice  stating a case number and to press 1 or call 1-877-881-0891.  These people have called my job, talked to my coworkers and left messages with them to give to me, and my cell continuously. The messages entailed a vast amount of derogatory information.  Needless to say the information has given to a team of lawyers at my place of employment.   Reports have been filed with the Attorney General Office in my state, the FCC and my personal attorney.  This is ridiculous!  I haven't spoken to them and no correspondence has been received.  If they were to send someone to my dwelling place, constables are right next door to arrest them for trespassing.  The 877-881-0891, when googled refers to a company called T.P.S.....not sure who these people are.

Ok so I have also been getting calls from this supposed "firm" regarding a "matter that needs addressing". A few months ago, I was receiving daily calls from a different number saying that I had committed check fraud and that they were going to serve me, arrest me, and take me to court. They also called my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and an aunt I haven't seen in over 5 years. A year before that I started getting calls from a different number saying there were numerous counts of social security fraud against me and the person making the calls was a junior attorney for some law firm and she left a case number on my mother-in-laws answering machine. She could barely speak English and its illegal to leave case numbers with anyone other than the person it pertains to. I have never committed social security fraud, and as for writing bad checks....I havent had a checking account in over 7 years! I have never written a bad check in my life. After much research into my situation with this (it has been going on for YEARS) here is what I have found: This is definitely a SCAM. These people are called "zombie" collectors. They purchase lists from companies that have settled debts. For instance, say you owe a debt of 100 dollars and the company settles for 60 dollars. Your info and the amount of money that was knocked off the original amount (40 dollars) are what this "company" is purchasing. Then, they simply use the internet to cross check your name with phone numbers and people. They call you and every person they can come up with that is associated with you to scare you into thinking you will be in trouble with the law if you don't pay. You do NOT owe that money because it was written off in a settlement with the original debt holder. However, these people will try and make you think that you truly DO owe this money. That is why they can never provide paperwork! All they have is your name and the amount of money that was knocked off a bill in a settlement situation. They will continue to harass you because they change their business name, number, address, and "employees" every few months to avoid detection by the law. Make no mistake, what they are doing is against the law. Unfortunately, once they purchase a list with your name on it, it is VERY difficult to get them to stop harassing you because of this tendency to disappear and then reappear as a different company. The FDC, city and state police, BBB, and other agencies can't help because they simply can't FIND the people who are doing this. (I received all this information from my lawyer and from the police).
Sorry about writing such a novel, but I wanted to help ease the minds of other people who are dealing with this too, and let them know they are most definitely NOT in trouble. If you can find a way to get these people to stop bugging you, please let me know how you do it! I'm tired of the almost daily calls that I've been getting for years now.

I know I did have payday loans but I also have dished out $$ to several collection agencies that "CLAIM" they were collecting for "whatever company". Today this collection agency called my mother's house and said that I owe $$ to a company for a payday loan that is 7 years old. I constantly get these calls & I am sick of it! I have went to all of the websites that everybody refers me to but I don't know what else to do. Please advise!!!
