I got the same call from +1 (877) 883-9144  lady was "Mrs. Harrison" told me the same thing that she has a legal case with my name and ss number and I owe 1,650.14 and if I didn't give her a payment right then that it would go to court and I could go to jail. I'm a single mom I couldn't risk it so I made a payment. Well 2 weeks later they automatically took more money so I call to tell them they weren't authorized to do that and the number is out of service. Called my bank disputed the charges and got a new debit card! I know people are guna comment and say I'm dumb but as a single mom I couldn't risk jail time no one would be there for my 1 year old!

I just received a call from Rosenthal, Stein, & Assoc. Agent Coffer phone number 877-883-9144 ext 6000 and he told me if I don't pay the $1970 by the end of the day, that someone will come and serve me.  The company that he claims that filed a fraud claim against me told me that I do not owe them a penny and that this company is a HUGE scam!!  I have reported this to the police, BBB and the credit bureau about this scam.  I hope someone will put a stop to this.

My identity was stolen in October of 2011. These people call me constantly and threaten to send the police to my home and job. They want banking info so they can take money I applied for an auto loan over the internet and people like them took it and then said I owed them money. I'm in a lawsuit with Missouri's attorney general against 3 of these companies and and several internet loan companies. They are lying and they can not send police to come get you or charge with any crime. You would be served first by someone from your state. Don't worry. I got them to stop calling me by telling them this. They usually hang up and never call back. Good luck.

Rosenthal, Stein & Associates, a debt collection company in Marietta, and it's owner, Sharisse Williams, are facing a state investigation after consumers complained about aggressive and illegal debt collection practices.

"They threaten you. They use scare tactics," said Boris Townsend of Huntsville, AL.

He said collectors tried to get $900 out of him for a $400 pay day loan he had already paid back.

"She said you either give me the debit card number or you face going to jail," Townsend said.

Townsend isn't the only person complaining about Rosenthal, Stein & Associates.

A CBS Atlanta investigation uncovered a dozen federal lawsuits alleging RSA violated federal debt collection laws. According to the suits, RSA collectors deceived and harassed debtors, threatened them with arrest and revealed private information to third parties.

"In simple terms it freaks out my clients," said Attorney Bill Horn who represents Townsend and another man allegedly harassed by RSA.

Horn said RSA uses confusing, legal-sounding jargon to frighten debtors.

The West Virginia Attorney General filed a civil suit against Rosenthal, Stein & Associates in April. The Georgia Governor's Office of Consumer Protection launched an investigation into RSA last year but according to court records, the company has not cooperated.

When approached about the accusations, Williams said she does not condone aggressive tactics and fired two employees who used them. She said she teaches her staff to be "creative."

Williams, who claimed she's an ordained minister, showed CBS Atlanta how she starts each work day. Dressed in a white robe with a gold embroidered cross, Williams leads a circle of employees in prayer.

Horn accused Williams of using a company name that sounds like a law firm to scare people into paying.

Williams said there is no Rosenthal and no Stein.

"The name is definitely created," said Williams who denied it was meant to frighten people.

"I do my best. I can't listen to everything. I can't be everywhere," Williams said.

Townsend said he learned his rights and learned he doesn't actually have to pay RSA and intends to sue the company.

Left a message on our general voice mail at my office. After googling the number and reading the comments here and on another site, I googled the name of the company (which they did not leave in the message, so I didn't know it until I read others' comments) and found a very interesting story from a CBS affiliate in Georgia - this collection agency is owned by a woman who claims to be an ordained minister and leads her employees in prayer every morning, and there is no Rosenthal or Stein, she admitted the name was "created".  I don't know if a link will post, but you can easily find the story by googling the name.

Ok, so I have had over 4 calls from this number belonging to Rosenthal, Stein and associates. Threatining me with arrest. At first I was in tears and scared so my husband gave them our CC number. I called my mom and immediately she smelled something fishy, so we cancelled that cc. I called the national credit line, and they advised me that this company is a fraud and has hacked peoples information. 1-888-768-0674. The informed me that my file was with another company, and Rosenthal is a fraud! Received a phone call this morning from an 800-818-1790, and it was a computer recording stating my name and it was Rosenthal AGAIN! DO NOT give them any money, contact an attorney who will write a letter and stop these people. The threaten and intimidate.

This is a hoot. I never answer unknown callers even if I name appears. If I don't know the name I don't answer. Then I go straight to the internet and type in the number to view all the comments of other phone call recepients. Then I went to listen to my phone message: "I hope that you or your attorney calls us back before 12noon EST..." What the heck? This person doesn't even sound that educated. Actually sounds like a mad black woman! LOL... I can say that, I am black! Welp, that was a great laugh. On with my day...

I've never had so much fun with a scammer before in my life. A woman who called herself "Agent Page" called today looking for a coworker. She was so upset at the fact that I was asking questions in regards to who she was. She said she was with a company called RSA, so I asked her what that stood for. Rosenthall, Stein and Assoc. Ok, do you have a case number? rattles off some random 15 digit number with a few dashes mixed in for good measure. I also asked her in what county the "investigation" was going on in. She was NOT pleased with how many questions i was asking and said, (and yes, she's shouting as she's saying this) I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH SOMEONE SO NOSEY. Me: Well ma'am, I am sorry you feel that way however, I am instructed to thoroughly screen every call I answer. We have a problem with getting a lot of bogus phone calls. She's still talking over me and getting more and more upset, so I put her on hold and googled the phone number that came up in called ID. I asked her if she had ever googled their number to see what comes up... this is where she got REALLY bent out of shape, "I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE SO NOSEY THAT YOU WOULD STICK IT WHERE IT HAS NO BUSINESS TO BE...*unintelligible from here on out*....so i hung up on her. :)

Also been receiving these harassing calls about owing some company whom I never dealt with... stating i had written bad checks and that I need to call them back by 9pm or they would file papers for court... they are a 3rd party company buying loan information from loaners and threatening people to pay or that they need to set something up over the phone.. they ask for bank accts or cc #'s so that they can take money from your acct and screw you over with interest fees and such....  DON'T DO IT!!!  I FELL FOR IT before and then found this site and found that i wasn't the only one getting scammed...  if you are, talk to your bank, report a compromised acct and close it out.... Open new acct but DO NOT ALLOW anyone access to your banking info.....  IT WORKED FOR ME... no one has my bank info now nor will they get it, period!!!   HOPE THIS HELPS OUT.....
