Got a call from this number saying I must get in touch with them or a decision would be rendered with or without my consent. What decision could possibly be rendered with a SOL violation?

Well, I have been receiving these calls for the last couple of weeks.  And, it does not even pertatin to me.  They are calling me looking for my botyfriend.  Like other posts, Paul Rossi said that my boyfriend used me as a reference.  Since when do they ask for references on a CC?  And, this goes back to 2002!  I met my boyfriend in 2008!!!  It would be amazing if we knew that we were going to meet 6 years later.   As I was on the phone getting ready to make a payment which was dropped from $6k to $800! (Yes!  They had me fooled).  I googled C&M Associates and I found this post.  Thank God I did!  I told the lady that I had to go get my CC and she quickly transfered me back to Paul (The Fraud) Rossi.  I told him the same thing and hung up the phone.  Fifteen minutes later they called me back and I ingnored the call to finish reading all these posts.  It seems like everyone is being told the same thing and the year they use is between 2002 - 2004, Metris Bank and HSBC. Anyway, I told him I wasn't going to pay it becasue it was all bull****!! He started yelling at me and telling me that It was going to judgement etc.  I said, why don't you check all the post online and he pretended that he knew already and threatened me to take me to court.  It's not even my account!! There is no account!!  I was going to have my lawyer Sonny Bono call him and tell him I got you babe!!  All kidding aside, if you do receive a call from them DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!! They already have more information than they need.  Luckily I googled them as I was on hold with some woman.  By the way, I I called him an A**le and hung up on him and I have not heard from him again!

Have also been receiving numerous calls from this (630)657-0273.  When I don't answer it will often call right back. This happened five times in a row on Monday.  Twice this "Paul Rossi" has left a voicemail, the second one just now stating "he "has left numerous voicemails", which is not true, and also supposedly "mailed numerous letters to my home"... also not true. Maybe he mailed them to someone's home,  but not mine.    He has never actually said in these TWO voicemails that he is  trying to collect a debt.  The only thing I have that he could possibly be calling about is from 2001,THIRTEEN years ago.  I messed up on a credit card, and when I did pay a collection company I did the "You owe $1,000 but we'll take $300 and call it good".  Now I get calls THIRTEEN YEARS LATER still trying to collect.  They threaten to file "paperwork in your county"...which they cannot legally do.   ( I know that yes, morally I owe that balance, so don't even bother saying it)  Research this company before you let it freak you out.  Just another "junk debt collector" using illegal tactics.  Unfortunately sometimes it works, so they will keep using them.

Same as everyone....received 2 vm's fromPaul Rossi of Law Offices of C, M, & Assoc...aka; Law Offices of Chadsworth, Macon, & Associates. Said I owed a debt of over 7,000, but would see if they would accept a settle for 3,000. This was in relation to something on credit report in 2004??? When I told him I have never seen anything reported from this company on my credit report (and I pull it often), he said, regardless, did you or did you not sign a contract with this company. Told him I couldn't remember it was so long ago. I started questioning him and told him I had a similar call that turned out fraudulent about 8 months ago, so I was a bit leery of this call. He started getting huffy, and said it sounded like I was trying to get out of paying my debt. I said wanted to get a lawyer, he then said that's fine, spend your money on a lawyer, but by then, you will owe the full $7000....that tere will be no opportunity to settle the debt for a lessor amount. He put me on hold, probably because he needed to regroup, got back on the phone, told me it wasn't his job to make me feel comfortable, but only to collect money I owe...that he was sorry I had been scammed before, etc etc etc. he then said, "we are just going round and round about this, you can pay the debt now or take a chance on whatever consequences the court will rule???  I questioned that, and he just repeated himself.  He then said I will out this hold for 24 hours. You can reach me at 630-657-0273.  I then got on this site, when I was trying to get information on that law firm, couldn't find a damn thing, but thank goodness I found you guys!!!!  These guys are good, but only to the very naive. I sure hope everyone spreads the word. I just told my banker about it. SCAREY....BECAUSE THE GUY HAD MY SOCIAL!!!!!
Just called Paul, told him to never call me again, called him a few choice words, he very angrily spoke back telling me I was making a big mistake, but that was my choice. I said damn right you f'g b*****d!!!! Hung up
I had this happen a few months back, to where they actually had a local police officer contact me, saying he just received a call From so and so, and that he was starting paperwork to file a summons.  He also used an actual officers name and the number that came through my cell phone....get this....was the police dept number and the offers name he used was an actual officer at that station. When I went to the police station to see what the deal was, because naturally at that point I was Feeling it was very real, a different officer came out and said the officer e claimed to be wasn't even in...that he had been in another town working on a case allllll day and never came back to the station, so there is no way e received or made that call to me. Is that crazy????  These people had me going!!!!  So scarey!!!!!  Tell everyone!!!! Especially your elders!!!!

5/21/14 -The call came in on my cell with the caller ID # as 630-657-0272, but left the #877-889-6936 to call back and speak to Paul Rossi "auditor heading up our file" with a case ID #.  Similar situation to the other comments listed here.  The caller was wanting to reach my husband and stated that I was listed as a contact & relative.  We too pull our credit report 3 x's a year and owe nothing to anyone at anytime and will be blocking this number.  Happy that there is a site like this to see what other's experiences are and identify that it is a scam.

They called one of my family members. Left a case number, had my maiden name and past married name. Told them to tell me to call them as soon as possible. That's a big L no.
Don't know them and they can go jump out of a plane without parachute, before I call them. I don't even have credit.
They must work for Obama, cause they have nothing better to do that call while setting on their lazy butts and try to steal.
That's probably where they are getting the phone numbers from the NSA or whatever they are called.
Heck we are probably being Droned by anything they can spy on us with. I trust nobody!!!!!!!

My 20yr old daughter got several calls today from a 630 area code. She spoke with them, and they told her that I was "under investigation, and there is a pending judgement against me.  She told them that I would be upset if they were telling her these types of things.  They didn't care, and told her to have me call the 877 number.  I called them, and the receptionist that answered was very rude when I told her if anyone called and scared my daughter like that again - I would sue the crap out of them.  She replied "I aint the one that called you so you don't need to talk to me like that." I said "I just want to make sure each individual in that office knows if you ever call my daughter and say those things to her again I will sue you on a corporate and personal level". She all she does is transfer calls. I told her "good transfer me to the jack a** that called my daughter." Some scum bag who answered never asked my name - he was rude from the beginning.  He said "how can I help you?" I told him "I think I am here to help you because I have no idea who you are and why you're calling but do not ever call my daughter again". He advised the "office of the clerk of the court called her - not him". I said "from Chicago?" (I am very sarcastic) He just snapped and started yelling at me, and told me there is a pending judgement against me, and I am under investigation. I cut him off during the last word and spoke over him asking him from who is this "judgement coming from" and he said "if you would let me speak I will tell you!!!!!" really loud. I told him "damn I can hear you just fine you don't need to scream at me!" He said "you know what I will see you in court!"  So before he hung up on me I said "okay I guess I will see you there".  Scammers. Anything legal is done officially through the LOCAL courts - not some scum bag Chicago loser "attorney" who is at the office 7:00 at night screaming at people with threats trying to collect money.  Glad to see I am not alone in all this from previous posts.  Anyway a few minutes ago a "No caller ID" call came through and left a 3 min vm. I decided I wasn't going to lose 3 min of my life I will never get back listening to him with his BS on the voicemail so I deleted it without reading.

Jerk left word twice on my cell, (I am on a national do not call list!) having half of my name wrong, giving a case number, stating my calling soon would prevent further damages. I called back, advised I was not who he referred to me as and I did not know that person and was not related to her. I then asked him a question: how did he get my number. He ignored me and kept asking questions anyway. I repeated the demand
and he hung up.

Received a call from this clown saying his name was Paul Rossi. He said I owed $1092.45 on a HSBC credit card from 2004. I started to question him and he got a little hostile. I told him I was calling my lawyer and he hung up. I am going to call BBB and get this clown to stop I hope. He even said that a pending judgement was forthcoming.

I received a call from (630)657-0275 and a voicemail message was left.  On the voicemail, the caller never indicated who they wanted to talk to nor did they leave their name but said that they were a loan representative for makinson and associates group and their contact number is (877)889-6936.  This call is coming out of from Level 3 Communications VoIP in Warrenville, IL.  I cannot find any information to say that this company makinson and associates even exist.

My 90 year old father received a call asking for me today. Gave a case number and "Joseph Brazi" as his name. Said to call back immediately or they would take me to court. I've been burned once by this type of call because I did have debt problems a couple of decades ago. Haven't used a credit card for anything in over 20 years so any debts I had are long ago written off. The burn was that I paid $2500 for an "old debt" and never received a receipt. Never received an acknowledgement. Never had it put on my credit report that the debt was paid.

Once burned shame on you, Twice burned shame on me. I'll believe it when I see the papers in the mail or am served by a legitimate official.

Jan. 8, 2014 received call.  Took several seconds for someone to say hello after we said hello a couple of times.  Call transferred to me.  I say hello and wait.  Then a female says hello, stumbles with inaudible words (I hear laughter in background along with male and female voices).  I said hello again, lady asks me to wait.  A man gets on phone says who he is with (C&M Associates Group), calling for "First Card" on a loan I took out on Aug. 1, 2004.  I was shocked then realized there was no way on God's Green Earth that I every took out a loan then.  I told him I never did this.  He said loan was charged off in March 2010.  I said he someone must have stolen my id.  He then read off a SSN and said is this not yours?  I told him at that point I would not be giving out any personal information at all, and that maybe I had better get a lawyer.  I told him I wanted to research the company he is with to try and find out what was going on.  He said fine, get a lawyer.  He then gave me a "file" number along with the First Card number I supposedly had along with the amount of the debt.  I repeated that I never took out a loan or card on Aug. 1, 2004.  I started to get freaked out because this person was getting rude, loud, and speaking over me.  I knew at this point they are some kind of scam artist - trying to get money they have no right to get.  I told him I would not be discussing anything about me over the phone, and he threatened me by saying "it does not matter, we have your numbers (one of them being SSN)".  He said this twice as if to threaten me, as if to try and coerce me into giving in to their phone call.  I told him never to call here again, and he spoke forcefully over me with the above statement, and I repeated do not call here again (2 more times).  He then hung up.  20 minutes later someone called again (Unknown Name), I said hello, waited, said hello, waited, said hello, waited then a lady said hello.  I hung up.
Please people out there do not give them any kind of payment or personal information.  There are debts out there that are past the statute of limitations and they cannot legally collect any money from you.  But they are trying by force, threats, and intimidation.  Unfortunately, there will be people who will freak out and give them their debit card number and pay money.  Please do not do any payments.  Verify with the lender, credit card company, or whoever the loan is with - verify who they are using as their collections company and report the call you received.

Received a call from Chris Simms & Joel Siegels,( who said he was assistant to the District Attorney) In April 2013 I received a notice from them for a $9000 debt on a credit card from a Metris Bank. In July I received another notice this time it was $13,000. When Chris Simms called me in Aug, the amount was $30,000 and with attorney fees it could reach $40,000. After speaking back and forth with different members of their team, they said they would settle for $1,000. I said no and they said they would see me in court. There must be something we can do about scum bags like this!!

Looks like this number has been actively harrassing people for almost 2 years, based on the first comment above.  Today's episode appeared to involve "ghost debt," as the address they gave was from pre-1998, although they did seem to have knowledge of some items in the more current public record.  Gave them current address (a postal drop) and told them would only discuss this via postal mail after showing to my lawyer.  Boom. Bang. Done.  :)  The second I said "lawyer" the agent hung up on me!  Not holding my breath to see if they actually do send a letter, but if they do, will try to post back here with more info.
