Check out the statute of limitations in your state with regard to a debt of this kind.  Some states allow these to have a life span of 5 or 10 years.  If they are beyond the time frame for what your state allows, they have no leg on which to stand.  Good Luck - these clowns are as hard to get rid of!

This number continually calls my mobile. It is a spook number from the internet. Not a Collector, I paid all my bills in full last October 2013.................

Same thing here -- Northshore sent a $75 bill that was not paid 90 days from the date of service.  We have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Northshore and this is how they treat their customers?  Will go out of my way not to use Northshore University Healthcare again.  Whoever is in charge of their billing should be fired.  They are losing good customers over their billing practices.

It is a collection agency that Northshore University Health System in Evanston, IL uses. I have been paying my bill every couple of weeks, but they still sent me to the collection agency. They are nasty people. I only owe $130.00, but they treat you like a criminal. The woman I first talked to, Melissa, was not very pleasant. She wanted me to give her my credit card #, but I refused. I told her I had to talk to the hospital billing dpt first. She did not like that. Then ordered me to call her back the following Wednesday, which I was not going to do, just because of the way she talked to me, but they called me back on that Wednesday. I talked to an African-American guy, who was very insistent in me giving him my credit card#, when I said I didn't trust them with it, he got nasty. I told him, that he was rude and that they had very bad customer service. He told me, yelling at me, that I wasn't a customer, I owed the money and that didn't make me a customer. Needles to say, I am not contacting them again and I am not answering their calls, which anyway they show up as a toll free caller( I don't answer those). If the hospital hadn't sent me to collection, they would've had all their money by now, but now I am going to make it long, paying only $15.00 a month, which I have already scheduled in my online banking. By the way I called the hospital to complain about the collection people, and they don't really care. They told me they were nice people if I talk to them right.

Also rec calls from these idiots I don't owe anyone money. When you call back you cannot get a person. Any yes two calls with their long dragged out message will fill your voicemail . don't really know who they are scam or calling wrong person re debt .

Got a phone message from this number...said it was a credit agency saying they were
collecting on a debt. I have NEVER HAD AN UNPAID BILL. I called LifeLock, we have an account, and the guy said that this may be a phishing scheme. He put alerts on my accounts and i blocked these idiots. I can keep blocking as long as they call.  You can't understand who they are, I think based on previous posts that they are Van Ru Credit Corporation??. Melissa also was the one on my phone.  My credit score is also A+.

apparently 3 years after the date of the last post above this company is still in business or at least the phone number is still doing the same thing. However now they have a voice message that is left if you do not answer the phone, asking you to call back, when you do call back during non business hours, their message asks you to leave your account number or social security number.  They are apparently on a pfishing expedition don't ever leave your social security number with someone like this. if they are legit they will call you back even if they are not legit they still might call you back now that they know you are a real person.

Melissa called me to get to someone else I knew.  I don't have the time or patience to deal with people who want me to do their job for them.  She appears to be a debt collector.

First time I ever got a call from them was today.  They were calling for my husband.  At first the lady wouldn't identify herself then when I told them who I was and I can help THEN she told me she was.  She said my husband owed some money to a hospital, I said okay, I can schedule a payment.  She said how will you paying and I said by credit card, then she said she would transfer me to a more secure line and when someone answered on this line all he said was hello, hello, and I said hello back three times.  Call me crazy but aren't you suppose to be a bit more professional then just answering the phone hello like it's your home line?  Then I called back trying to get reconnected again so I was transferred again but placed on hold for a very long time.  I was ready to pay this bill but they way it's being handled is sketching me out.

A collection agency is just a repo man to me. I owe nuthin but my gf does. I will never help a collector. ever.

I just got a call from this number today. I have no debts, have had this # for 10 years, and they did not leave a message. I don't know what they wanted. Out of curiosity, I called back and a real person answered. I hung up immediately though. I couldn't understand what she said before "how may I help you?" and I cannot verify it's still the debt collection agency, but I'm sure it is.

Write the company a letter stating you do not want them to call you home again.  Sign it.  They are required by law to stop calling.  I have had to do this in the past, and it worked for me.

I, too, got a phone call from them for the first time today, and they were searching for someone who is not even attached to me and my phone number.  They hung promptly and I hope they don't call a second time.  Anyway, I checked them out, and found they have another mailing address (in addition to the one shown above).  It is:  Van Ru Credit Corporation, P.O. Box 270, Park Ridge, IL   60068.  Take the advice of the previous writer and sue 'em.  If they're accustomed to being a nuisance to others, then there's nothing wrong with being a nuisance to them too!!  :)

I started getting these calls a few days ago. There was a message to call the number back and when I called the number back all I got was music playing in the backgroud. Humm

This person keeps calling and wants to talk to my son.  i keep telling them that it's not his number but they keep calling.

Answered once,,some woman was yelling on the phone,a=had no idea of who or what place she was calling from.stating that I owed money,and a sheriff was coming to arrest me.Now the phone rings begining at 8am until after 9:00pm Called an attorney.I don't owe money

The company is called Van Ru Credit Corporation. They are a shady debt collection agency, who has a nasty reputation, and is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. My strong suggestion is to document EVERYTHING, send ANY letters to the via certified mail, and if they should continue to violate your rights under the FDCPA or your local debt collection laws, which includes contacting you after you have told them that a person who they are attempting to collect a debt from does not use your telephone number any longer, you have the right, under Federal law, to sue them.

CALLING CONSISTENTLY

i got a call at my work phone on Friday 27th about a free Home Depo. gift card. They just needed my home address so they can send it there. I said send it to my company and they hung up on me. Now it is Monday the 30th and i got a call from this number and he would not give me any information on whey he needed my home address. No one should call you and be invasive about you're private information. So he hung up wants he found out. I did not want him to call if they can not answer any of my questions.

I continue to get an automated system asking for Hugo,my name is not Hugo.The calls begin at 8;00AM and continue throughout the day and into the pm,when I return home.I refuse to answer any calls with an 800 or 877 area code.Its amazing,Iam on a do not call list and still continue to recieve calls.Iam fed up with the BS.I don't even know what they want.Or who they are.

I have been getting calls from this number begining at 8:00am .Can't understand what they are saying.Iam on a Do Not Call List and changed my number and continue to recieve calls.

somebody left a mesages on my celphone,I cann't understand anything that the person spok, It made me feel scared when  I recive calls from somebody I don't know.  I have many problems in my live for somebody give more stress.

Keep saying I owe money for a loan that was put into my bank acccount but I never took out a loan.

got a call from this number several times in one day. Van roo?  Van woo?  Scary thing is, they had the last four digits of my social and were asking me to verify them for my own safety.  I pushed the woman to give me their company name and who they are.  She kept saying I had to verify my numbers for security reasons before she could divulge the purpose of the call.   I don't have debt.  This is obviously a scam to steal money.  I wish someone would trap these criminals and put them away forever.
