I called the local sheriff department and was informed that this is a scam, the legal system does not work like this,
If we missed a court date we would have sent documents stating such with a failure to appear.  Defrauding a bank is a federal offense.  A normal default is handled in a court.  If they had our address papers are served and mailed.

Someone called from this number and asked for a specific employee and wanted me to varify his SS number. WHat? This is wrong. I hung up and they keep calling right back. STOP IT!

This caller used my first name.  Wanted to "protect me from prosecution" from Wells Fargo and wanted the last four digits of my Social Security number.  I asked him who he was and he was with Van Ru and his name was Jessie Jones.  He gave his phone number as 877 492-0866 but my caller ID said 877 891-9209.  I didn't give him any information and told him he was stupid if he thought I was going to give him any information. Then I hung up on him.

They call me in the evening, past business hours, of course I don't answer if I don't know the number, when it goes to voice mail, I can hear other people (operators) in the background. But the person calling me never says anything, just sits there until the voice mail shuts off.

I have recieved a new cell phone # in the last 6 weeks. I started getting calls from this # from the start. I did not know the # so I would not answer but they would leave voice mail for someone named Sharon. Then a few days ago I got a call from a local Police Detective looking for this same person. I gave him the # they were calling from and told him maybe they could help him find her. Maybe they will stop calling me now.

Called me today and left a message stating that "By Listening to this message, I acknowledge that I am (xxxxx)" (couldn't understand what name they said. Was an automated message left on my voice mail. No identification, just a callback number - the callback gets a "What's your SS# or Account #?".

This caller identifies me by name, something about patient account, and the phone number.  Caller's accent is very hard to understand what they want.

Called on September 25 and then again on October 2.  Left a message in September but the company name was not discernible.  The woman speaking mumbled it.  She used my name and said they were a debt collector, but I have all my student loans in order and have been paying my credit cards on time.  I think she said she was with Banner Corporation or Vanner Corporation-  it was really hard to tell, but neither of those businesses sound familiar to me.  I don't want to call back because I'm worried it's a scammer.  If these people want to collect debt from me, they should send me something in the mail, not call me multiple times in one day and only leave a voice mail once.

this number has called me 7 times. They ask for my late husband, when I ask who they are they say Mahogany. I asked them what's Mahogany and they hang up.

This number has been calling me for over two months.  At first they called every day, multiple times a day, and then suddenly the calls stopped for a week or so.  I have only been left two voice mails.  The first was back in October, but the message never said what she was calling about.  It sounded like Banner Corporation (see above comment).

Then today I got two calls only two minutes apart.  The caller left a message the second time and only said that she had some kind of business offer and her name was Wendy and gave me her new extension number.  I do not owe anyone late payments, and all my student loans are in order, so if this is a debt collector, they have the wrong person.  My thoughts are that this is a scammer.

Please stop these calls!!!!!

Keep get calls, but wont divulge my identity until they divulge who they are and what specifically they want. They are very scummy and stick to the script.

That number is contacting references that we put for a student loan years ago, they are very agressive.

I received a call from these people.  The woman, "Kelsey," asked for me by first name only.  Not recognizing her voice I said, "He's not here right now, can I take a message?"  She asked me to take down her number, 877-891-9212 ext. 2078 and "tell him I have good news for him."  I said, "Good News?  Ha. OK, bye."

this number is calling me like crazy. who are they? so annoying they never leave a message or anything just hang up.

I've been getting calls off and on from this phone number for several months. I always answer, speak my name and wait for a response. There never a response. They just hang up. I don' get it?

This people always call to my house, but I don't answer the phone. They call everyday like 10 times a day!!

Obviously, calling and saying nothing, then hanging up has a benefit to these people who do it. Does anyone know what it is? I sure would hate that job.

Have been getting calls from this number for about a month. First calling once a day, now multiple times. When I answer there's no one there and they won't leave a message.

So I just received a call from this # and found out after calling back that they were looking for the person who use to have my number. The lady was a total B*TCH. When I told her that I would report VanRue to my AG's office she told me to stop calling her and making threats. I told her that there was no threat made. At that time she said she was terminating the call. So of course that pissed me off, and I've now been calling her and hanging up on her.  (only did it twice for fun) LOL so I have a weird since of humor.
I really wish these collection agencies would learn how to skiptrace on people....you can find a lot when you just look.

I keep receiving calls from this number, every day at different times.  Every time I go to pick up the phone they hang up.  I don't even answer yet and they hang up.  It's driving me crazy!!  I don't owe any money to anyone so why are they calling me???????????

This number is calling me at my work.....where they were told not to call me. Isn't that a violation??

I was called repeatedly over a 30 -60 day period..lost track. They would never give their name. At one point the caller said it was a federal offense etc. She would never identify who it was or why she was calling. After perhaps 25 calls she said it was Vanrue collection agency.They had the wrong man.

These folks should be put under the jail. their techniques are grossly misleading and one has no protection against false attack.

With Vanru you are guilty until proven innocent and skirt the law of human decency. With me..it was FALSE ARREST...wrong person

This is the Van Rue Credit Corporation. They're one of those scumbag collection agencies that come after you for hidden interest on your student loan, eight years after you thought that you paid it off under the protection of a chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Got a call from this number asking for my daughter by name.  She wasn't home, since this was during the day, and she was in high school.  I asked why she was wanted. Person replied that it was confidential and related to schooling.  Excuse me, but my daughter is a minor, and I, as her parent, have a right to know what this is about.  The person said it was for a different person with the same name as my daughter and hung up.
