Lady said it was a local State Farm Agent's office. Continued to call me by someone else's name.
Got the same thing...but it was a message that was just background noise. As you say, annoying.
Got a call from this number -- red flag #1 - guy could barely speak English. Red Flag #2 -- he was looking for the "person in charge" of.....not sure what, since he did not speak English very well.
The number will be blocked so they do not waste any more of our time.
Keeps calling and no one answers on the other line. I call back and it rings once and hangs up. Very very aggravating!
Called looking to give someone a proposal.
I had applied to a couple jobs posted on Craigslist today, and have now recieved 3 calls from this number. No one is there when I answer the call, and then it disconnects after about 10 seconds. I don't think it is a coincidence that I am now receiving these calls after replying to some job postings, so this company must now be posting fake posts to get people's information. Just hope I don't have to deal with this for longer than tonight...
The caller said he was a student from Singapore needing help on a project concerning water pumps. He wanted me to answers questions on our companies services but the questions made no sense what so ever. I hung up on him as he was completely annoying !
Said she was Leah from National University, really, sounded like a call centre to me, numerous voices in the background, had an accent - asked repeatedly what she was calling about and couldn't understand a word she was mumbling about, hung up - number now blocked
receiver of call
Called me, I answered "hello". A moment later, a "hello" back. I said hello again and they hung up.
I called the number back, it rings 1-2 times and stops, then disconnects?
What kinda stupidity is this?!?
Same as every one else, got this annoying call.
If Janet is right of the company www.contactdb.com, this is a company that collect personal information to sell to companies at the same time collect the buyer's information and in turn sell it to other people. Below is their official statement in their website:
"ContactDB is one of the largest business mailing and e-mail list providers in the U.S.A. Our database of 20 million targeted business sales contact lists is updated daily by a team of dedicated marketing professionals. Whether your purpose is to find additional contacts or to update the information you already have, our database provides you with fresh and accurate data. We're passionate about searching and organizing complete business information." and list their number as 888-488-5478.
They called and wanted to set up an appointment for cleaning services. They started asking a lot of personal information. I told them that they would be able to find out this information when they show up for their appointment. Guess who didn't show up for their appointment. When I called the number back, it was a call center. They claimed that the caller was busy and they would call me back. They never called back. I found this site and it seams to be that they are collecting information.
Stop frickin calling if yer not going to say hello !!! How bout u give me yer number and ill call and have a 30 sec phone call with u at weird hours with out saying a word .... PRICKS....
Sounds like a call center moron at the other end. FCC loves to hear about these companies. I just got a call from them today. I dealt with one of these a couple of years back. After talking to the FCC... Lets just say they are not in business any longer.
This is getting crazy-10th call in two days looking for someone with same last name. I wish I knew who to call to stop the b***s***. Rag head operators hang up as soon as I tell them nobody lives here, or has lived her for the 28 years that I have been at this address. DOESNT MATTER- APOO KNOWS BEST-"YOU MUST BE LYING AMERICAN INFADEL! " Can someone stop the calls? I am short of pulling the cord out of the wall. Surely in this great country of America we still some have privacy rights! Or has O#$@!%$ gotten to these as well?
Fools called looking for someone with same last name, would have told them that this has happened numerous times in the past to kill the repeat calls-which have been coming in for months without stop for months. As soon as I try to tell them that no one by that name lives, or has lived here, they hang up. Cant call back-keep getting disconnected. Public Service Commision of Missisippi, here is another idiot to fine.
From New York
I picked up the phone, and I heard a woman talking to me with a low-volume Indian accent. She asked, "can I speak to the home owner? Who is homeowner? You home owner?" I said, with a stutter, "no." She said? It went on and on, and I kept asking her what the purpose of this call was. Long story short, based on the other reports from this website, I think she was a phony idiot.
This is a telemarketing company that is hired by various organizations to solicit business on their behalf. I received a call from this place claiming to be our local car dealership and had information on our vehicles we purchased through the dealership. When I did call the 877-893-7398 number back the CSR hung up on me when I was asking her questions about who they are.
I called our local car dealership and they confirmed they have hired this company to assist them in setting up appointments with existing customers to trade in or upgrade their vehicles. We will be talking to the dealership tomorrow about releasing our personal information without our permission to an outside organization. We have done business with them since about 1993-1994 so I am not impressed.
Rebel Against Robocallers
Called 6:15 PM and a dead ringer. Nobody answers 877 calls anymore so give up losers. Maybe it was the Alberta Election pollsters wondering why they were so wrong?
Ghost call to voicemail. Shuffles and swypes and schhhschhhschh. Ghost mustve danced then hung up
I got a call from 1st Allied Finance wanting to know what I thought about the stock market. I questioned him about why and what reason he was calling. His response was always the same. When I told him that he had no reason to call, he hung up.
The people who work for our company can tell immediately the telemarketing/call center incoming calls and send them to a special extension for "JUNK" calls. The extensions records the phone number they are calling from and then we google before doing anything further.
THIS CALL CAME IN FROM A CALL CENTER (Identified with background call center sounds). No message left but the person said something in a foreign language!
Thanks for all the reports listed here.
Want to invite us to their sales event this Saturday
How is this even legal?
I got a call from this person 1st) without identifying self, company or reason - they asked to verify my company's infromation right off that bat 2nd) the person was "um, um" every other word so trying to figure out what they wanted in the first place was a challange, in other words the communication skills of the caller were terrible.3rd)Tried to solicte a marketing service conference to the facility manger - which is a marketing dept not faclilities 4) wanted my work email and full name 5) wouldn't answer my questions in a coherant way 6) I asked them verbally to acknowledge they wouldn't sell my fax number and my name (i knew they would so refused to give them my email) - caller acknowledged it wasn't going to be sold 6) 4 hours later they haven't sent this important fax. If Janet is right (above), then the person who called me has misrepresented their company and their intensions, 4th bullet, and is breaking the law. Also I said none of the information I was to give them may be sold without being me or my company notified by writing (another law broken).
This is a call answer center for www.contactdb.com.
They are a database company who collects your business and personal information TO SELL.
They call you to verify it, and publish the specific databases for sale. Check the website...
called me today at 7:30 am. no msg left.
I used to run a home based business, but no more.
This is exactly why I now have my phones set to NOT ring between midnight and 10 am.
called my home at 7:30 am today. TWICE. no msg left.
I used to run a business at home but no longer.
This is exactly why I have my phones set to NOT ring between midnight and 10 am.
always a good sign when you call the number back , it rings once, and hangs up.....
These people call several times a week and they never answer when I pick up.
