I received a call in Sept. 2010. I remembered clearly the rep. telling me that for a fee, $795.00 he could reduce my debt by reducing my credit card interest. They worked with the companies to do this. IF in a year they had not completed their duty to do so and I was dissatisfied that I could get the money refunded. The guy I talked to was nice, not pushy, and mannerly. I had talked to a financial planner who also wanted a fee to do the same thing so when this offer came it seemed ok. TODAY, I called the company to request the money back. The girl answering did not identify the company just said, "Customer Service." I asked her if I had the right number. I told her what i wanted to do and she said it had been too long and past the year. I told her the agreement did not say you had to cancel within that period but you could if they did not fulfill services. She offered to renew my membership for another year minus the usualy $99.00 renewal fee. She refused to do anything else. I looked at this site and I am upset. I am going to report to the Arizona attorney general, internet commerce, credit card company, and file a police report so I can get the credit card refund.

This is from a company called ELH Consulting.  The phone numbers coming from anywhere is simple phone DID spoofing.  And the owner?  Eric Lynn Hall, Ponder Texas is the register owner of ELH Consulting LLC, registered in texas, operating out of a PO and empty office in Tempe Az.

Gee I wish I lived in Ponder.   Anybody out there know anybody living out that way?  I believe a little chat w/Eric is in order.

If you do get the charge for their servaces and you find that you do not want to do with business with them after all then persue it with your credit card company. Hopefully you do this in a timely manner within a few days, Once they hear this is a co. that claims to lower your intrest rate it should be  be considered a scam by them (mine did). At that point most credit card companies offer fraud protection and you should receive a refund so long as you dispute the charge.  Good luck to all with this issue.

this has been varafied to be a scam! They are not a debt management company! It even says so in their fine print on their paperwork. It further states that they do not negotiate or take any other action on your behalf with your creditors but will EDUCATE you on how to lower your debt.  "PPS will not improve your credit record, history or rating but will EDUCATE you and show you how to save money" This is a direct quote from their paperwork written in the fine print. Please beware of this freadulant company!

rec'd call from a Larry Mack Senior Financial Director with this company for 12 years  He explained lowering my interest rates on my cards and absorbing the cost of 699.00 on one of the cards.  It threw up a RED flag when he told me they were located in Phoenix, AZ.  Most of all your scams come out of Phoenix.
.
When I told him that I could lower the rates myself just using the techniques out of a book called Free Money and that there are other ways you can lower the rates for free, he yelled at me and hung up.

Pro Active Planning Solutions initially called me from the 1877 number, don't remember how many times.  I have never answered but today they called from the same area code I live in.  Talked with someone and she said her supervisor would call.  He call, and it was from the 1877 number and gave me the same junk about reducing my rate by 50% and saving a lot of money.  He then asked for my credit card so they could send a package out to me to reduce my interest rate.  I flatly said no and that if I was interested I would call them.  He gave me a website, which is this one, and I am like all the rest, I believe it's a scam.

Yesterday I received a call from proactive planning solutions, Mr. Lewis Yee said they could cut my finance charges by 50% on all my credit cards, & student loan , for a fee
of $499.00. I gave Mr. Yee my Chase Bank Card # and he put me on hold while he called my bank. He came back on the line and said that I  needed to call Chase because the fraud protection had stopped him from accessing my account. So I called Chase and they said they have never done any business with proactive plan....
When Mr. Yee called back I told him what Chase said, Yee then said that I had talked to  a bank rep. who was not privy to that kind of information. I told Yee that I would
check with the Better Business Bureau and get back with him if they checked out OK,
The BBB's rating for proactive planning solutions is a big fat  "F"

I am currently trying to set up some kind of plan with Proactive Planning  I have already allowed them toapply an $ 800.00 charge on my CC  I can only speak to someone with they give me an appointment which is usually 1 -2 weeks away.  I think I may be losing the $800.00  because i am so discussed with the time issue.   I have been offered three different aptions  debt consolidation, debt negotiation and 0% on charge card  which I could do myself.  I sure I have messed up and have lost the $800.00 but hopefully this will make others aware of this company.

I filed a complaint with the b.b.b. but  poractive did not respond Next  I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card provider, again  no help. My next step is to file a complaint with the Attorney General. This is a scam, if they call you HANG UP!!!!!!!!!!

Received a phone call today, and first I should have asked for a name and said "I am on the NO Call List", thanks for you name and company.  However, I did speak to a Justin on 11-19-10 around 3:45pm CST and he gave me the whole spill.  Sounds great, and tells me they need my credit card # and bill me $995.00 and this will produce 1/2 off my interest rate.  I read this site and I told the guy, nice try and I hung up.  This is a way for a company to get your CC # and STEAL money from you and then I would bet leave you out to dry!  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!

Just got a call from Pro Active Planning Solutions, too.   This guy was named Tom Stahl.  Same number he told me  877-898-0109.   He gave me the same story as the people above.  Then wanted the entire credit card number.   I told him I wanted to see the paper work first, then I'd be happy to sign up.  He said he couldn't do it that way.   I told him I wasn't interested in giving him the '$795' first over the phone.   He continued to give me the 'hard sell', telling me what a great thing he was doing for me.   Well, I told him to stop talking and he didn't so I hung up.   He called right back and again told me I shouldn't hang up on him since he was doing something 'great' for me.   I told him I had his phone number and that I was going to contact Visa and Mastercard to make sure they had heard of his company.   He told me I should not do that, I would only get customer service people who don't know anything about this program.   I told him if the people that work for Visa or Mastercard don't know about this 'great program' then how could they be part of it [which he told me they were earlier in his sales pitch], and he had no answer for that.    I suggest anyone who believes this 'sales pitch' should just simply contact their credit card company and ask them directly to reduce their interest rate, and if they do not do it, then ask them about any company that claims they can do that for you, and find out what they say.     I happen to be an attorney, and know that these companies simply give you an agreement to charge you less interest as LONG as you DO NOT have any payment that is late.  If your payment is late at anypoint, they will raise your rate back to the old rate and charge you a penalty amounting to all the interest you would have had to pay since you started the program!!!     Don't fall for this scam.  It only works if you have not been late on a payment for the last 24 months, and you can accomplish the same thing by contacting your credit card company directly and asking for the lower rate.   That is all they do and they want over $ 700 to make that one phone call.....

my name is justin odell an i actually work for pps. im here to tell you that we will not scam anybody. we give out our names phone number and address to people and better yet we let them know they are being charged on a cc for the service. all cc consumers are protected by federal law against fraud and misrepresentation its called purchaser protection. if you hav knowledge of the credit cards you use you would know that before hand. thats why we dont ask for debit or check cards because you the consumer are not protected by them. what do we have to gain by scamming people? seriously, we answer all questions asked by the consumer thoroughly so that you have a clear understanding of whats going on. the only way it doesnt work is if you dont take the time to fill out and return the form that was sent to you by our company. take the word of those who have posted on this site the savings that have made them live a little more comfortably. what have you got to lose but your high interest rates? cant lose the money you have purchaser protection.

I was dumb...don't you be...  These guys called me and gave me all the information on credit interest reduction etc. (as previous folks described). They charged me $995 on my credit card, did, in fact, send me the credit profile request which I had to call to request, I had to call again when no followup and spoke to "Nigel Robertson" who discussed various strategies.  He did follow through with one consolidation bank and when I have gone to talk about the results with him I have gotten a recorded touch system that doesn't work, found the non-existant website which has the acne medicine, called again to have their "system down for technical issues and to call back again".  DO NOT deal with these scammers... I foolishly did not investigate them and am out the money.

i just started working for this company about a week ago. From reading all these comments this company seems like a scam maybe i should reconsider working there. It also sucks and we only get paid from charging you customers credit card and we do get your information from cardholders. being that i was  there for a week i actually thought they were actually helping you reduced interest rates. And for all whose credit card information i made the supervisor get  i am really sorry.

It's a Bait & Switch operation. I asked clearly and up front if this was a reduction by transferring your balance to another card... The answer was an emphatic "no". They promised to lower my rate on my existing card and secure a savings of $2500.00 in 1 to 2 billing cycles.

After I agreed to the "one-time processing fee" of $595.00 for the rate reduction service, I had to call 4 times to get a counselor on the phone after I received my package in the mail and even when they gave me an appointment time, they didnt call and I had to call them.

Ronnie Shank, the "counselor" told me that Chase was not doing any rate reductions right now but he could transfer my balance to a Citi Card with a 0% rate. I suggested I already knew I could do that and got offers regularly in the mail to do that he said that if I wasn't willing to do that they they could do Debt Reduction Negotiation and Consolidation, but I indicated to him that would affect my Credit and he agreed it would. I was told in the Sales Process that this was not anything that would affect my credit rating. He said he could turn me back over to Customer Service and have them call me right back. They did not call. I had to call them, spoke to Gina Thompson.. chased the chain up to the Customer Service manager, Amy Verhoff, I believe, who told me I was unwilling to take their counseling advise and therefore was not eligible for a refund. She played back the audio recording which they do not discuss how they lower your rate, but that it would simply be done in 1-2 billing cycles. She indicated that because I was not willing to take their counseling service I was not eligible for a refund. I asked for her boss' name and she indicated she did not have one.. so when I asked if she was the owner she said she was not but that she was hired by the owner to handle all customer service claims for him. I asked who the owner was and she said she did not know. I indicated that she just referred to her boss as "him" but noted it was interesting that she didn't know his name. She said I could find his name on their website which is conveniently "Under Construction", by the way.
Contacted Visa and disputed the charge and the company, Pro Active Planning Solutions and they refunded my charge once I told him about the sham.

If you are an employee of this company, you really need to question your ethics and morals... This is not a good, reputable company. Surely you can find another job that lets you sleep better at night and keep a clear conscience. Similar to your company's tag line " All you have to lose is a bad job!"

Received 2 calls from 916-993-5362 West Sacramento, CA. trying to sell me Proactive Planning Solutions  for $495 charged to my credit card. Going to get all my interest rates cut in half and save me big money. First call to qualify and second to sell and get that credit card number. When I started repeating that I was not giving a credit card number over the phone until I checked out the company, the caller suddenly had phone problems and said I was cutting out. Did not call back. Good ridance!

It seems that the State of Arizona Attorney Generals Office and Arizona BBB do not care about out of state complaints. They told me I was the first complaint filled. From what I have researched they have had many complaints. Proactive Planning Solutions must only contact people from out of their state, knowing if you sue them for breach of contract all their attorneys have to do is file a jurisdiction appeal.
Then you will have to go to Arizona to sue. Contacted 5 attorneys in Arizona to pursue my case all of wanted $1000.00 upfront to file case. I would only get back what I lost $789.00 not a good deal. Unless there is a Class Action suit filed by a firm we are all screwed. All the positive posting I have read I think are from employees. The employee posting I read is false if you do not request a refund in 90 days from your credit card company they will not refund your money. I look forward to a class action lawsuit as this is our only hope. Keep filing complaints maybe Arizona will get of their lazy butts and do their Job CONSUMER PROTECTION. Proactive Planning Solutions that promises to lower your interest rates by 1/2 is a SCAM-SCAM-SCAM. Liers, theives, and con artists. They will even send a false email promising their guarentees. They lie and send false documents to the State
Arizona. It seems Arizona does not care we do not live their. Thanks
