It is not a scam.  I checked my ny&c account and I forgot to make a payment last month.  Of course I didn't trust them enough to give them my payment info.  I told them I would make a payment online.
I think they are so secretive because it is a call center and they probably deal with more companies then just ny&c.

So weird!
I opened my checkign account today and found a $30 credit to the account from NY&Co. Now, I got a restricted call with a VM leaving this number to call. I googled it immediately and found this website. If NY&Co was going to give me a credit, wouldn't they credit my store card, and not my bank account??

I'm calling the NY&Co. credit card line and NOT this random restricted number!!

Got a message from this number. I've NEVER had an account with "New York & Co." or "World Financial Network National Bank."  What good does being on the Do Not Call list do, when any number of calls like this come in every week.  Grrr.

I  recently began receiving automated calls telling me to call this number.  I ignored them at first, but then I recalled that I had had a similar situation a year or so ago when, after ignoring several such calls, I decided to go ahead and call the number to see what was going on.  It turned out to be a service company working on behalf of an online bank with which I had an account.  The account came with a debit card (never used by me).  Some charges had been against that account somewhere in the Far East and they were checking to see if I had made them---which I had not.  The account was not charged, the card was cancelled and I was issued a new one on assurances that they had increased their security against identity theft as a result of several similar instances occurring.  So I decided to call this number in case I was faced with a repetition of identity theft;  I hung up when I got the request for the last four digits of my SSN.  Very aggravating.

Looks like this number is legit!!  Turns out, my daughter's NY&CO. account was in trouble because she never changed her address after marriage... and all they had was her old "home" number.  She called and they were really nice to her and straightened the whole thing out... no late fees either!

I've been receiving these calls for two weeks!  I also didn't want to respond because I haven't had a New York & Co. account for five years.  Anyway... after calling NY&Co.... and being referred to their credit service... and then given a number for World Financial Network National Bank, 1-888-788-2195 (don't enter a ext. number, just wait).  I got a woman that said, "Oh, no... you're getting these calls by mistake?"  She then asked for my number, verified my name.... the line went dead for a sec... and then she came back, said "Thank you" and hung up!  How rude!  But I'm hoping the calls will go away now.  Keep the fingers crossed!

I got the same call, but after reading through this decided to check my real account and I had a late fee!  I didn't get my last bill, and now have fees and finance charges to deal with.  Some of you may be getting called on wrong number, but if you have a card check your accounts.  I called a different number back listed on NYC's website, but this number is listed on their website as well.

I continue to recieve calls from this phone # asking for someone that does not live here.  I am unable to speak to a real person to have them remove me from their call list.  Today I just started punching in numbers when it asked me for my SS# and I finally got a live person.  When I asked him to remove my phone# he hung up on me.

I just got this call today on my cell phone, which I am not happy about. I do have a NY&Co card but do not use it. I called the number left in my voicemail but when it didn't specify what company it was in the initial auto message, I hung up when it asked for the last four digits of my SSN. I would never provide this information without a real person that I can verify his/her origins, or unless I make the call myself.

I got a pre-recorded voice twice on my voicemail telling me to call this number listed above.  I looked up the number and saw all of your postings... is there a way to make the phone calls stop?  I'm too afraid to call back!

Received 6 phone calls since 9/10 all RESTRICTED so I would not pick up. Finally I did yesterday and the same thing happened as stated in the other postings on this site. I kept entering random numbers when asked for an acct number so finally a REAL person picked up. She started asking me for acct numbers & SSN# and I kept asking her what she wanted. She asked for my address and I finally said I will not give you any of my personal information until you tell me what you want. She hung up on me. I think I will call New York & Co.  This is very upsetting.

Same as above.  I have been receiving repeated calls from this company(or someone pretending to be this compnay).  When you call back they ask for your last 4 of your social, then the account number... if you don't have your account number, enter in your social.  This whole process is automated...  It's got to be a scam.  beware...

A pre-recorded voice told me to contact World Financial Network National Bank about NewYork & Company.

I called; it's an automated system that asked for my account number or social security number.

I hung up and intend to do more research before dialing such information into the phone.
