I have received the same messages almost word for word from "Ann Hill". They come from different numbers but always the same threat. They have people looking for me fraudalant bank account. They even contacted my ex-mother in-law. The bank account referenced is from 7 years ago. First off they tell you they are serving notice on the phone. It is not possible to do this legally. Second they threaten you, they can't do that legally. In order for them to file anything in court against you is if it is within a 4 year time frame. Look up the Fair Credit reporting act. Almost everything they say can be considered in violation of the law. Not to mention they are giving other people that they are calling ie my ex mother in law information regarding a debt which they are never allowed to do. All they legally can do is ask if they have a contact number and say it is regarding a personal business matter. So this leads me to believe it is a scam. I was told that if you filled out a credit card lately or if you have in the past used cash advance, that this is where they are getting the information. In my case it was a cash advance place (that was the bank I was using at the time) that went out of business. They sold their records and this is what we get in return. Report them to attorney general. And if you speak to them tape the conversation but only after you tell them that you are taping it for their protection and yours.

I just received a message from a "Bill Davis". The call came in as out of area. In the voicemail he states that there has been complaints made against me for a fraudalant bank account in my name. He states that my file is going to be sent to court and that I will be served at my place of work or phone. He never mentioned the company that he was with and when I called the number back it says I have reached the offices of providence. When I look online I cannot find any information about the number or the name of the business. This seems to be a scam.
