My dumb a** did filled out a free trip at carnival trying to save money on a honeymoon. I think thats how they got my number. I thought a big company like carnival would have a more safe email. Unfortanately this is the number they gave me to call after they said I won.

Same here "entry form that I or a family member filled out at an event last year ... 2 round-trip airfares from nearest international airport ... Miami or Port Canaveral ... our choice of Carnival or Royal Caribbean ... 8 day / 7 night cruise ... 877-906-1440 within 24 hours"

Boy I wish I was that lucky.

It was Ann again, but this time with a different company. Otherwise, wording was identical to what has been reported previously: entry form that I or a family member filled out at an event last year ... 2 round-trip airfares from nearest international airport ... Miami or Port Canaveral ... our choice of Carnival or Royal Caribbean ... 8 day / 7 night cruise ... 877-906-1440 within 24 hours.

Once in a while we do fill out entry forms like this, just for fun, and so these guys had me going for a minute. Then I realized that I never put my cellphone number on those entry forms, so I looked up the number on Google. It sent me here. SCAM!

Let's all be smart here....Hmmm, "Free" cruise on well known cruise line for a week, etc, etc. Really?
C'mon, this is not a game show where the cruise company more than makes up for this "gift" to the
contestant by getting to advertise their name and "product" to millions of viewers. I ask, in a phone "give away" where is the opportunity for them to make up for the cost of this "give away"? Don't know what the scam is....but not going to waste anymore time finding out. ;-)

I listened to the whole automated message. It asks you to press 1 for more information about a sruise for two that is won. Doing so takes you to another message about the location (it provided me the following address, saying I had to go to some sort of, what I assume is a, sales pitch. The message said the signs in the hotel will be for "Epic Travel"...but that they are not affiliated with the hotel in any way.

It gave a date of 28 June 2012 to meet at the hotel at either 4:15pm or 6:45pm. I was supposed to hit 1 again, leave them a message indicating which time I liked and they would call me to confirm.

Sounds like its both on the up-and-up and a scam. Meaning, you actually get a free trip...but you have to sit through some sales pitch.

I got the same call from Ann at AWA. What the hell is AWA anyways? I knew it had to be a scam but I was kind of hoping I would check this site and people would say they really won a cruise lol. Silly me. Thanks for the help guys!

Ditto on the message above...almost called Ann back but decided to check first.  Thanks everyone who posted here, really helps all of us stay clear-headed about winning cruises and such.  The part where you have the option to opt out of receiving these calls sadly was "garbled" so I didn't catch it, I KNOW that was not intentional...:)

The call appeared on my cell phone caller ID as "Private Number".  Of course I didn't answer; anybody, who's anybody is programmed into my contact list and I never answer unkown or private #'s.  There was a VM; when I listened to the VM, the woman identified herself as an Ann Callahan from the Promotion Department at AWA... proceeding to inform me that this is not a timeshare and you are not obligated to purchase anything.  The same boiler plate message ~ you or a family member entered at one of our events last year and your name (did not say my name) was pulled for 2 complimentary round trip Airfare vouchers from the nearest A/P and a 7 night/8 day Carnival or Royal Caribbean Cruise (with a outside cabin).  With our choice to depart from either Port Canaveral or Miami; and of course, please call 877-906-1440 within 24 hrs. to claim your trip.  Can you say SCAM?!   Apparently the scammers have recirculated using a different number as it seems from the dates of the comments above that they're back.

Got a call from this number.  As it was ringing I googled it.  Came to this page, read the comments and decided not to answer. :)  One thing to note, the first time I ever got a call like this was a couple weeks after coming back from a trip booked by priceline.  Not sure if that's significant or not.

I got the exact same call twice over about a 6 month period saying I filled out a form and won a cruise... they just left a voice mail... I never called back... I don't fill out forms like that so I feel like it was probably a scam.

Pretty much the same call i got.  But if you listen to the end, it'll give you the option (press #2) to remove your phone number from their list.  Maybe they'll stop now.

Got this call on my cell phone while I was at work yesterday afternoon. Since I didn't recognize the number, I didn't answer and waited until today to Google it.  I NEVER fill out any kind of forms at car shows, grand openings or anything that remotely resembles anything from a travel agent; time share group; or anybody else that has a "great deal" for me to participate in.

I just got this call, I'm gonna go to this location prior to the "reception time" and scope it out.  Then I'm gonna go at the scheduled time and see what it is, he if I have to listen to a few hours of dribble for 2 tickets, why not.  I always have to option of just walking out, I will post more when I find out.

I just received this same call that says that  me or my family member was selected for promotion. We won 2 roundtrip tickets anywhere in the continental united states (excludes Alaska and Hawaii). 2 night, 3 day stay at the marriott, $150 free gas, and dinner for 2 at the Olive Garden or Bahama breeze. It sounds too good to be true. What are the chances that this is not a scam. It's got leaving you bankrupt and identity theft written all over it.
