I know! I checked and companies that are doing surveys don't have to respect that list from the goverment of Canada, the "National Do Not Call List", because they don't sell anything! They should change this rule!

If you get calls from 1-877-931-8399 it is the "Institut de Recherche auprès des consommateurs", a division of Saine Marketing based in Montreal. I called 2 days ago at Saine Marketing's office to ask them to take my phone number out of their list. The man I talked to took my name and phone number but I am still getting calls (and they hang up if you don't answer, they don't leave any messages on your voice mail)! I wrote an email to the company to complain about this situation. Hopefully, it will work this time!

It seems that it is a survey firm which is employed by a number of companies to conduct surveys, though if they start asking too many identifying questions etc. as some have indicated, then someone in the company may have an illegal "side business" and should be reported. I didn't answer, and it was on my cellular phone number.

Reçu un appel en soirée (20h), pas répondu car je ne connaissais pas le numéro. Ils n'ont pas laissé de messages. J'ai un compte avec la Banque Nationale, donc en me basant sur les messages des autres utilisateurs sur ce site, c'était en toute probabilité un appel de Saine Marketing ou d'une autre firme de telemarketying/sondage qui travaille avec cette banque.

Saine Marketing est une firme réelle. Il est fréquent que les institutions financières fassent des enquêtes sur la satisfaction de leur clientèle et font affaires avec des firmes externes, c'est légitime. Si vous avez des doutes sur les questions posées, vous n'avez qu'à refuser de répondre et c'est tout !
Leurs bureaux sont à Montréal et c'est une firme reconnue.

You will find when you open an account you automatically give "permission" [your consent] to allow items in the fine gray on gray print on bottom of about page 4 of their Privacy Policy.
Page 1 one is where they say they protect "Your Privacy"! -That is not including telemarketers that are selling bank related products. Gee, thought It was only I that read this stuff. THANKS for your comment.
PS: Years ago, Credit Unions used to be so much better but now they are being taken over by Big Banks
