Scam
Got a call from David Gibbons at 469-804-0616 on Monday, I did not answer so it went to voicemail. They left a number 866-853-8581 on the voicemail they stated that they would be serving me legal documents at my home on Wednesday at a certain hour. They left a "claim number" also bogus, I do not owe any debts! They called earlier than 9 on 3 occasions including on Wednesday. They didn't show up. I am certain that this is a scam and that they are trying to scare people into calling them to make arrangements. Since I do not owe anyone anything, I am sure of it. Just posting so that everyone is aware that this is still going on and that they need to be stopped.

Debt Collector
Received a call and voicemaill from someone named John Cartwright that I was notified of a civil case filed and I need to pay immediately.  He also claimed to serve me on Monday between 3pm and 5pm and hungup. Called the number on the caller id 469-804-0616. No answer or voicemail.

A person by the name of Railey Madison who has the same voice as John Cartwright at number 877-957-8127 could not give me information on court date or anything that they did not have that infirmation. He was irrate when I questioned him on anything and would keep placing me on hold. When asked for the servers number he hestitated and asked why, placed me in hold, after several minutes returned with these two numbers 866-462-3335 and 877-957-8127... as youcan see it is their eV same office number.

Any caller who exerts high pressure to "pay immediately" without MAILING - per the FDCPA - proof of debt and proof they can collect said debt - should NOT be paid.  It's also illegal to threaten you with court to intimidate you into paying the debt.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I got a call today.... saying I could pay $675 immediately over the phone or they're going to take me to court for $2000+. They called me from a Vermont number (where I'm located and mentioned nothing of what it was about or who they were, I had to ask when I called them back.) Do any of you have any website information to direct me to that Kirkland Assets is a scam? I can't even find a website about them. I'd like more information.

We have them bank info and payment was denied by our bank as fraud alert. Don't pay them. If possible block them. They were rude over the phone and provide no evidence of payment being made.

I received the same message. I called the number to try to get more information and the lady refused to tell me anything unless I gave her my social security number. I refused. She told me I would be getting a certified letter explaining everything and it would be brought by a courier for the county ( I assume the county I live in but she did not specify). She told me again she could give me more information if I gave her my social but I refused stating that this number and the name Dina Taylor was listed as a scam. She said it was not a scam but she had my social anyways so if it was a scam there was nothing I could do. I told her that was ridiculous and she told me I had an attitude and hung up on me. I plan on reporting this number and waiting to see if I get a certified letter. If I do I will add the info here.

KAM stands for Kirkland Asset Management. I got a call from that same number.I just got the same call today. I googled the number and ended up here . They called me back and i made them aware that i read bad things about them. She didnt deny aaaaaanything. On the origina call they said the company i actually do owe was taking me to court and someone would be at my house. I live in another state anyways. Well i called thr number they gave me. All it says was "claims, leave a message with your name number and claim number". I did and nichole called me. I told her id like a letter from the place i owe stating that they hired KAM to collect. Then i said wit, i can pay the co i owe directly. She gave me my accnt #. I think collection agencies are taking more extreme, intimidating measures to collect. Yeah, i owe them. But im a recent college grad who is struggling. Im not paying KAM anything. I cant afford to be scamed out of $. I advise you all to get the proper documents from this place if you do decide to  pay your debt with them and be sure to follow up on the documents with the actual company you owe.  I hope this helps

I returned a call to this number after it showed up as a blocked call. They left messages saying they would be at my house two days later to serve a certified letter of a fine. When I called, the gentleman hesitated but I was able to get out of him that the company was KAM Services. After lots of research I found nothing on this company but found on the BBB website a KAM financial Inc that operates out of Florida and there is ongoing government action against this company. They are supposed to cease attempting to collect debt in the manners that they have been doing so. That company has been fined $40,000 due to the practices
(possibly illegal) manner they do business in and failing to provide and identify themselves properly to consumers.
