The company is Tate & Kirlin.  Call 800-298-3600, press O.  Tell them the situation, given them the number they are dialing, and ask to be removed.  They will connect you with the collection agent for that person/phone number, and they will remove you.  Or so they say.  I found them much more responsive than I expected, and I don't think we'll be getting any more calls on our fax line.

this one is confusing, its possible that they called another family member and just asked for the number for where your staying and it was given to them, but its also possible that they just pulled an accurate on you family (an accurante provides all the names and number and addresses of your immediate family(parents siblings) as well as secondary (aunts uncle cousins) some times even your neighbors or work associates, i do feel is a great invasion of privacy but these companies pay to have this info avail to find you,

as far as making the calls stop, you have to say you don't live there and that you have no phone of you own, it might stop them but only temporally

A collection agency only needs to be told once to stop calling to a place of business then it is illegel for them to call and you can press charges, my advice ask specifically for the name of the company then say please do not call my work i am not allowed to receive calls here, write down when you spoke to them and who you spoke with, if you receive another call at your place of business then file for harassment with the better business bureau, but be sure its the same company calling bc each company does get 1 chance to call before they are told not to again, (just to let you know hanging up on ppl or screaming never gets your number removed, i know your mad but yelling wont get anything done)

While this is amazingly good advice, as i do work for a 3rd party collection, we don't want to call wrong numbers (it just wastes everybody's time) they are given to us by the original merchants, and screaming at us doesn't get your number removed but nicely saying please remove my number and verifying that we don't have your address (as we don't want to send you their mail either) will get your number removed,

the only thing i would like to explain is that we aren't allow to say who the original merchant is,  part of the debtors privacy is we cant disclose any info on the acct with out the debtors permission, so sadly as I've come to find out if we are not able to find a good number for the debtor with in 3-6 months the acct is removed from our office and placed with a new one, and also at this point the new agency is given all the old info (bc the merchant doesn't update their system as we did that the #'s were wrong) and this is where the cycle starts again,

so i do apologize in advance for any calls ppl receive that aren't for them, and i apologize that some of the ppl in this industry are complete a**holes, but please remember when your frustrated bc the calls never seem to stop, that most of us do this job to pay our bills and not bc we enjoy calls ppl and asking for money

we know the economy is bad and we know that if you had the money it would be paid, we know that most ppl do pay their bills and do care about their credit

and on another note we do work of a script we have to say in order to keep our jobs so if the bill is yours and you just want to settle it please understand that we would love to just settle your bill for you but before we can we have to offer other arrangements to pay the balance in full (once again to keep our jobs) so just be patient and say "no i cant afford that , eventually we will be allow to put in a settlement

oh and also don't ask 3rd party collection agencies about your credit we don't handle it at all and are also not allow to speak about it at all

i realize this is allot of info and prodigally i didn't plan on typing this much but Ive learned so much while doing this sucky job that i wish i could just tell everyone but unfortunately if i we're to said any of this to a person on the phone at work i would get fired

its kind of funny, the people who owe the $$ think that im a good collector because i have compassion for their situation and try to help them the best i can, yet my own boss is always telling me im a "bad" collector for the exact same reason, oh well i wont be doing this job forever and i hope that ive shed some light on the subject,

part of me wishes i could post me email and offer advice to ppl base on what i have learned, but the other part is afraid of losing my job so i guess that's it, good luck

This company is quite annoying, but your phone ID will show the number as 267-407-0100. It is a debt collection company and the first contact person was beyond rude.  If you ask about the "debt"  they won't give you any information unless you agree to pay the debt. How absurd is that? You should never pay for something that may not be your debt.  They will tell you half truths or complete lies. After we found out the originating party to the debt, which we had to do on our own, we contacted them directly and found out it was placed in error by the originating company. We have a letter from the originating company stating the same and we have faxed it to the Tate, Curlin and Associates a total of three times. They stated they never received it the first 2 times, but we called after the second time and they confirmed they received it. Also our fax machine printed a report that indicating it was also received by their fax machine.

On the final contact, I advised the supervisor that I would need a confirmation letter from them that the debt was cleared. He stated that they don't issues letters like that, only the originating company can do so. What's bizarre about that is the letter we sent them is from the originating company. The whole thing is so Catch-22, it's like a circular argument.

They will call several times within a short period of time, no messages. I called them back and spoke a supervisor and asked that he remove my phone number and the house phone number from their list. He said he would do so, I will say that he was very apologetic and polite.  I told him that the initial contact was to my cell phone and asked how they got the number. He said that they bought it from a government site....that's not true. Then he said that they buy it from the cell companies, that's not true, because it is against the law to sell the phone numbers.

Make sure you keep a log of any calls you make to them or receive from them. Log the date, time and person's name then some notes on the conversation. It will help you in the long run. Keep good records on anything you send or receive from them.

We cleared up our issue, but with much work and a whole lot of harassment by their representatives.

If you ever get these type of calls they are most likely a collection agency that has the wrong # either because some other debtor put it down on the application or because someone had the phone # before you and they are looking for that person.  They often use outbound autodialers and are allowed to under FCC rules of existing relationship between them and the consumer.  There is no harm in giving them your phone # and name.   Once you give your name, at this point if it is a collection call they should realize they have the wrong person.  If it is a telemarketing call feel free to cuss them out.   If it is a collection agency, be nice to them (because you need them to do you a favor) and ask to speak to a supervisor.   Once you get the supervisor, ask who the company is - you need to know if the company is the merchant/retailer's internal collection department or if this is an outside third party collection agency.   If the call is from a third party agency tell them that you are not mad at them and understand they are only an agency working off of the information the original merchant gave to them.   Ask who the merchant is who placed the account into collections with them - explain to them that you need this information not because you want to complain about them but because you need to have the merchant remove your phone # from their system because you have been getting tons of calls - you're looking for sympathy here so feel free to embelish your story.  Then, call customer service of the merchant, ask for a supervisor, have them look your record up by phone # and explain the situation and that you want your phone # removed from their database so when they send the file out to collection again with a different agency the annoying calls won't start back up.   Go as high up the chain of command as you need to get this done - you must get your # off the merchant's database or the calls will keep coming.   Then double check your credit report to ensure someone hasn't used your identity to take out a line of credit in your name.

I am staying temporarily at a family members house. All of a sudden on the 2nd day there their home phone started receiving calls from Leslie Thomas at Tate & Curlin. Are they tracking a chip in my cell phone? there is no other way they could know i was staying there, my new residence info was not forwarded to any entity. The only time i ever provided that number was on the emergency contact info in my medical records. this is so creepy and disturbing. when i called back she said she couldnt find me or the number she was calling and needed my complete social security number. she keeps calling despite her promises to stop. this has got to be a violation of privacy rules. can somebody please help

I received a voice mail message asking me to call Terry Glass at 877-982-0003.  I do not have caller ID.  I Googled the number and found this page.  I've had this kinda of thing happen to me once before, and decided to call back, as I'd only had my phone number for 4 1/2 months and knew I wasn't in any kind of trouble.  So I dialed the number, and a woman answered simply with just her name, "Tenysha."  I politely said "Yes hi, I need to have this number removed from your call list please."  She then said "Ok...(pause)...can you tell me the number, starting with area code?"  I then gave her my number.  Tenysha then seemed to look something up, and then said, "Ok, I see it."  I then asked her politely "Can you tell me why I was called?"  And she replied "Probably someone with this number is in collections or something... is this the Limington residence?"  I kinda laughed and said "Um, no, not me," and she chuckled.  I told her "Yeah this has happened to me before, and since I've only had this number since October I figured that was it."  So then she said "Ok, well I took it off, so you're all set." I said thank you, and goodbye.  Easy, and there was no rudeness whatsoever.

They have been calling us every day. I finally called them back to see what it was about, knowing that we do not have any outstanding debt.  They were trying to collect a debt from my husband from a credit card that was closed out in 1990. I mentioned the statute of limitations but he continued with his dialog of repayment.

i received many calls over the last few weeks leaving voicemails from a said terry glass at 877-672-5110. i finally called back to have my number taken off the list. they were trying to get info from me, stupidly i gave my phone number, only because you usually need to do that to have it removed. then they wanted my name, i said, well you didn't have my name when you left messages so you don't need it. then they were giving me the run around to get info from mee, even asking for the last four of my SOCIAL SECURITY number!!! of course i wouldn't give that to the man with 2nd grade english that answered the phone. this is some major scam. i reported the number on the federal do not call  https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

I was contacted by this number and rather rudely told (on my first few calls) that they would give me no information until I identified myself and gave my phone numer.  Kinda rediculous, and after seraching the net and finding this page, I decided to call back and volunteer that info since I don't have any outstanding debts.  Turns out it is a collection ("Asset Recovery") agency by the name of Tate and Kirlin.  Google this name for their other contact info if you feel you may need it.  Apparently someone gave my phone number as a contact number on an application or something, who knows.  I placed a fraud alert on my credit report out of caution.

Know your rights regarding calls like this! http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/rules/harrassment-abuse-tactics-6.html

This company IS registered with the BBB though and has a satisfactory record.  Once I called back and gave them my info (which I still think is an absurd way of doing things), they DID remove my phone number from their "records".

This number is calling you if your phone number is associated with a bad debt or bill.  Just give them your number when you call back,  you may find, like I did, that your number once belonged to someone else who has some outstanding debts.  I explained that I was not JoAnn and that we had had this number for 4 years and have gotten other calls for this same person over the years.  He appologized and said he would remove the number.

I called back, asked for Tracy Glass as named in the message. I asked who and what type of company they are, the woman hung up when I wouldn't give her my phone number and name first. I called again, the woman said that Traci Glass is her secretary, and that she wanted my name and number. I asked the name and nature of their company, she stated "Tate (or Pate?) Kearn and Associates" and that they have "many businesses", that she could not tell me until I gave her my information. NO WAY!

As of 6/13/07, calls from this number seem to originate from a collection agency that auto-dials numbers with similar last names to the person they are looking for. Please report all call you receive from "Terry Glass" to the FCC at https://esupport.fcc.gov/1088.

I receive these calls from Terry Glass as well at 877-982-0003, she always leaves a message on the answer machine.  The message is cut off always, so I don't even know why she called or if it was a recording or what.  I am on the national do not call list.  I figure its probably a collection agency looking for the wrong person, I used to work at a company that had such a call center.  Phone numbers always seemed to be wrong that they had for people who defaulted.

This number goes back to same place as 877-672-5110.  I got calls by Terry Glass requesting call back with both these numbers, not asking for a specific person, just call back for important message.  Ignored it until it got irritating with repeated calls.  I made a report under the 672-5110 number.  I was promised that I would be taken off the list -- we'll see.

The phone number that came up on my caller id was 877-982-0003, but i was told to call terry glass back at 877-672-5110.  No explanation was given on who this person was, who they were with or what they wanted.  Within the past two weeks I have been overwhelemed with these phone calls, some of them beyond harrassement and threating.  They have left messages for people I do not know.  I am really getting tired of this - I am on the national no call list.  Is there nothing else a person can do to get off these lists and get some peace and quite!???
