I believe it's a scam. They are trying to illegally capture your phone number. I received this in my email. My email only appears on My Space.

"hi my name is Carmen I am an investigator and need to talk to you please call me at 877-991-1955 Thank You"

If they identify themselves as investigators they may be in violation of the

BSIS Business And Professions Code 7523 (d) [1.]acts or represents himself or herself to be a private investigator licensee under this chapter when that person is not a licensee under this chapter; [2.] falsely represents that he or she is employed by a licensee under this chapter when that person is not employed by a licensee under this chapter; [3.] carries a badge, identification card, or business card, indicating that he or she is a licensee under this chapter when that person is not a licensee under this chapter; [4.] uses a letterhead or other written or electronically generated materials indicating that he or she is a licensee under this chapter when that person is not a licensee under this chapter; or [5.] advertises that he or shee is a licensee under this chapter when that person is not a licensee, is guilty of a misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than one year, or by both that fine and imprisonment.

Carmen just called me looking to speak with an owner of the building next to where I work.  And telling me they drive a black toyota camry and if i see them to give them the 877-991-1955 number.  What is this??!!!!

I got the same type of phone call from someone named Karmen. She keeps calling my entire family looking for someone but would not tell me who she was and why she was calling. I am in the process of blocking this number. Too many calls to too many people.

I was called for 2 days on my land line and my cell, and they want to know a phone number that i don't have. they want to talk to them about tax papers. they got my number from i don't know where' they were not talking frank about this, they said they got my phone number from his application. i know  for a fact that they did not get my number (numbers)from his application. the call was blocked but i think it came from 1-877-991-1955 and they gave me that number of 1-877-991-1955 so i can give them the phone number that they want. are they nut case  or what? who are they? i don't know
