I do not appreciate the same phone call over and over asking if we are moving our company.  Girl telephone operator said "whatever" when we asked to be removed from the phone list as we had already received 3 other calls from the same phone number 882-014-0325.  She said she was from the chambers of commerce....Not sure who it was.

That number is been calling at the business where I work for at least 2-3 years now.  I keep telling them that we are not thinking about moving, that we are not looking for a new location and never were.  Their reaction is to hang up each time.  It is very annoying.  I wonder what I could do to stop that harassment.

Same as other callers - Want to know if we moved, want to verify address, sounds Filipino, perhaps.  Hangs up when I ask her where her office is.  

Got crazy calls like this last year - at least a dozen from the same woman - I would recognize her voice and ask her why she won't stop calling.

Hi im calling from the Texas Business development.  (heavy accented female and loud telecenter in the background) I just interrupted her and said bye!  She calls right back and asks for a manager. I said bye again and she calls a 3rd time and says nothing and hangs up.

We received this call twice today and both times foreigners asking if we are moving. Asked them to stop calling and the rude people just hung up.  Tried to call them back and number is invalid. Block this number

Indian accented male said he was from State of Texas Business Development. I told him there is no such thing. He hung up. I am reporting to FCC. False identity and impersonating government officials is illegal here.

Said they were calling from the State of Texas Economic Developement Department.  I offered to take the information to pass to our GM, they kept asking if I was moving, and I stated I couldn't answer that question.  When I asked for name/number they disconnected.

"Hi, This is Michelle from 'State of CA...' calling."
(Sounded like maybe a Filipino accent.)
I've received these calls for MONTHS now. Each time asking them to remove me from their list.
I asked if I have to send my request to get our number removed in writing??
She hung up.

Calling me everday at my office, every time I ask them to take my number off their call list and to stop calling me.  Every time they hang up on me! How can I block them from a work line?

A filipino guy named "Haley Williams" called to ask if one of our locations was relocating....and I could not understand what he wanted... and then he hung up.

Just set all 4 of my phone numbers to fwd to the Indian Embassy in San Francisco when i get a call from this number. Perhaps forwarding to the NSA would be better...

Obvious overseas call center caller said "NJ Business Development". Wanted to know if we were "still looking for a new space". Very insistent. I told her they had already moved. Wanted to know exactly when. After reading these entries, I'm glad I as evasive.

Caller identified herself as Hannah from the Washington Business Development Office.  She asked if we'd found a new space.  I told her that she had reached an individual extension for a very large company and that since I was not in admin that I couldn't help her.  She politely said goodbye and hung up without asking to be transferred.  I've answered many calls like this as a receptionist at previous companies, and most of the time they are much ruder, including swearing and repeat calls despite being asked to stop, which are hallmarks of scammers.

"Kevin" Says he is calling from the Washington BBB Business Development. Asks if we are still looking for a new location. I told him he was too late and hung up.

The caller claimed to be from the Office of Business Development asking if I was moving my office. I asked what company he was calling from. He said, "The State of New Jersey." I said, "Oh really? What's the phone number there?" and he hung up.

The lady introduced me as calling from Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and started to ask me about my plans to move. Later she asked me about approximate number of employees. I gave an approximate number. Then she tried to ask me exact number. Then I got suspected and told her that I need to verify that does this phone number really belongs to Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. She immediately hanged the phone. LOL.

It is kind of on information theft! Isn't it?

A phillipino lady called saying she was from the better business bureau called and asked if we were planning on moving. it seems like a scam.

This is a scam and I want it reported and to never get a call from them again.

I get this kind of call every few days.  Same upfront claim, want to know if we are moving our office.  They are calling from the BC Chamber of Commerce, or the BC Government Business Development Office.  When I challenged her that she used a different institution last time, she claimed they were the same.  NO!  One is corporate, one is government!  I give them no information.
I can't figure out what the scam is here.  Is Gatekeeper right?  They want to record your voice saying "yes"?  This seems like a very long road to get recordings of "yes".

We're from Montreal and we received the same call today.

Hello this is ### from the city of Austin. Are you still looking for office space?
These people call our office 4-5 times per week.  We have not been in the market for office space for several years & will not be in the market again for several.  We ask each time to be removed from their call list.

Claimed to be from Illinois Chamber of Commerce. Asked if we were happy with our recent move.  We haven't moved in 25 years.  

Morons calling our business line.  I hung up on them three times in two minutes!  They apparently got the picture after that.  For a few hours, anyway.

I noticed with us, they've stopped saying who they *CLAIM* to be, they just ask "Are you located at #######?"
I tell them I can't confirm anything over the phone and hang up.
So far today they called twice...

They'll probably call 5 or 6 more times today.

A woman with a accent called and claimed she was from the BBB (better business bureau) and she wanted to know if our office was moving. she claimed in " her system" she had that we moved last December which was very weird because we did. She then asked if we were going to move again... I said who is this again? she said Amy then she hung up. I immediately called back because it seemed so odd and it said your call cannot be completed as dialed. This is not only unprofession to call my place of business but its annoying. I wish they would do something about this as they call and waste ALL OF OUR TIME.

Again! Exactly as before.

It's weird, I almost get excited to see what they'll try each time they call.

Man, after like 6 weeks without a call from these people, they called again.
It made me sad to see them on caller ID.

He started with "Hello, am I calling the office at #####" <----- Our address.

I stated that I couldn't confirm any information over the phone and disconnected as he began to say "Why not?"

Don't say ANYTHING to these people. If you find all of the various posting about these guys (with the 882 area code) they manipulate a recording to make it sound like you're ordering something. They just need to you to say 'YES' a few times.
