I was charged $120 from this "EBAY" account. These charges were taken from my checking account! I know it is a scam as I've never purchased anything from EBAY in this amount. I'm being proactive and getting this resolved now. I think I'll have to get a new debit card in the process. Pretty scary....

fraudulent charges on my Amex, this number was the reference for Ebay, not a valid number.  5 charges over 5 months totaling $141.

recieved monthly charges for five months tatalling 1000.16 ebay has no knowledge of charges disputed charges with amex

Well considering I've never sold anything on Ebay I'm going to say that this is not a legit charge and you should probably double check that since you're money is being taken from you

Mine was a valid charge for my EBAY listings.  Not fraud.

I just got this on my AMEX credit card bill. This was charged for my Ebay seller fee's. You have to log onto Ebay and see under Seller Payments section.  These are legit charges from Ebay. You agreed to it when you sold something off Ebay. Nothing is free these days.

I didn't get a call but noticed this item "EBAY INC. 08862858380" on my checking account. I called the number and it wasn't valid.  I cancelled my debit card.

We also just had a charge about $132 from the same number and says in CA.  We did buy on Ebay some jewelry from overseas, played at World Winner.  Anyone else do this also?

I just got off the phone with AMX,  What's up with this co. we have been getting charged every mo. But for what??  Don't pay it unless you know what it's for.  We were dumb to think it was something from E Bay.

We rec'd charges on our MC with the 8862858380 next to EBAY.  MC said they would take the charges off my account.  We also had to cancel our credit card.  Call your credit card company immediately if you see this number in the description.

i have received 2 bills from ebay with this phone number and have been unable to reach anyone.  the last bill was areound 3.50  this bill is now 37.16
what is this?  I never even use the credit card that this is attached to

Yup definately a scam. I also got a couple charges from them, I let the first one slide but after seeing a second posting I reported it. I heard they are getting our account information from certain debt collectors.

Is there a reason you bring up Thewebsuperstore.net with regards to that number? I work for them and that has nothing to do with out company nor does the Ebay charges. We have no affiliation with ebay. You can reach me at brian@thewebsuperstore.net

09/27/2008 I noticed a transaction on my credit card statement for $94.11 from EBAY,INC. I did not authorize this transaction.  I called my credit card company and there were NUMEROUS UNAUTHORIZED transactions from EBAY,INC. with the telephone number listed as (886)285-8380.  These UNAUTHORIZED transactions are NOT from EBAY,INC. and who ever this is was charging my credit card almost monthly for over a year!!!  I only used this credit card for Earthlink and I can not figure out how the EBAY,INC. imposters got my credit information.  Has anyone who has been scammed by the imposter EBAY,INC. used Earthlink or The Websuperstore.net??? Maybe there is a connection???

I have a Capital One card with Earthlink for the Earthlink monthly charge.  I just got one  of these EBAY charges for $94 with the 886 285 8380 phone number next to it.   Seems like a Scam surprised how long it has been going on for.  

Capital One said they'd reverse the charges - since it is fradulent.  The 866 number goes to some odd recording about bridged calls.  

I asked Capital One shouldn't they cancel the card and they merely said it may just be an input mistake so no need to reissue a card if no more charges show up.

I received a charge on my Master card and this number was listed on the statement. The description also read "EBAY INC". I am disputing the charge.

The got me on my American Express card!!!

I was convinced it was a scam, but I did list an item that didnt sell, this $3 fee showed up in my Ebay account history and is legit.   It does not show up on Paypal. I think that is the most confusing to the ocasional Ebay user. You would think the charge is Paypal.

Not a call, but every month on my AMEX.  Definitely a scam.  Have your cc company block it.

I, too, got an unexplained charge on my credit card statement listing "Ebay, Inc" with this phone number. I couldn't figure out what it was for and called my credit card company to see if they had any info. Before calling and canceling my card, I called Ebay who helped me understand the charge was for the seller fees my husband got in his ebay account for selling things on Ebay. So, at least for me, this was a legit charge. If you want to check your ebay account if you get something like this on your statement, go to "Account" in the "My Ebay" page and then go to past charges or "statements" so you can see what Ebay charged you. You can also call Ebay, but be warned that you'll be on hold for a LONG time.

I never noticed this charge bc it used to be like 16.50 so i will laways disregard. but now they start taking put $150, even $350 and i called my America Express and they can only dispute 5 months which adds up to $1100... HOpefully they do something to stop this scams

I had no choice but to cancel the credit card.

I just had a $109.35 charge on my AmEx for this EBay thing - same phone number, etc.  I have disputed the charge.

I did not get a call from them, but they took 41.63 out of my account.  I called the bank and told them it was unauthorized and they are investigating them to get my money back.  I have never even used E\Bay.
When I tried to call this number that the bank said was listed with the charge. It says they have to high of a call volumn and to use their site.  I was unable to rectify it there.  Now the bank has taken this as a dispute.  Call your credit card company or bank and they will help you.  Be careful as I know have another charge that is unknown and unauthorized.  My bank has cancelled my card so no further charges can be made on it.

I didn't get a call from 8862858380 showed on my master card but got charge by EBay Inc. for 87.95 from my AMEX. Looks like AMEX not secure any more.  I called AMEX,open fraud case,closed my card and got refund.

I adviced everybody to do the same

All of you with charges from Ebay Inc are absolute idiots!! You must use ebay to sell things and before you can sell anything on Ebay you have to give them a credit card for them to put on file, which they will use to charge any fees you incure due to selling things on ebay. To see this you go to your ebay account and go under my account and there you go...now you can see all the fees you have incured from ebay and the amount they charged you will be listed there too. If you don't know how to use ebay then you shouldn't be using it...you have to pay to sell stuff on ebay...nothing is free people...DUH!
