If you dial +011 886 (etc.) from the US or Canada, it's Taiwan. So - spoofed phone number - bottom line.

There is NO area code "886" in Houston or anywhere else in North America.  The phone number is either being spoofed or the call is originating from overseas, or both.

I hung up immediately when I answered the phone don't want any scam calls or from correctional facility.

THIS # IS A SCAM!!!  Do not listen to those other comments.  It's someone trying to scam you. End of story.  Do not answer the phone when they call.

I got a call from it but I didn't hear the name of the County or the person.

This is a legit number for the Houston jail. If you pick up the phone they will ask you to accept a call from "name of person" in their own voice. If it goes to voicemail I don't think the name is said. The charge was $9.99 plus tax on my Verizon bill.
Again this is a real phone number and not a scam.

I get a few calls like that I just one a few mins ago at 6:12 pm I know who it is, but I don't bother with things like that. Correctional Facility is something I don' t f*** with.

I got a call from this number to, I hung up could not understand who the person was or why I would be getting call from prison.

I have been receiving calls from this number at least four times daily for almost a month.  When I answer it says I have a. All from an inmate whose name is unintelligible.  Of course, I would not accept it.  I no longer answer these calls, but they are intrusive and annoying. They also leave messages that are clipped.

Left a voice mail on my cell as well, wanting me to press 1 for a 'free call', WTF?
Tons of these scams originate from China but could be anywhere.

886-847-1751 called my cell phone today.  Since I didn't recognize it I didn't answer, but they left a message.  When I listened to message most of it wasn't understandable.  But the last part said something about I wouldn't be charged for the call.  I guess that meant if I called them back.  Whatever these idiots wanted they have no right to call my cell phone. It's on the do no call list. If they call again I will report them

It's not bill collectors!! It is a jail and prison phone system. It is legit. The DO NOT CALL LIST is not affected by this number. It is a collect call from someone you probably know in jail. Initiated by a real person.

got a call from this number saying someone named patricia was in the correctional facility.  I immediatly hung up. my phone is on do not call list also

Call recieved from this # claiming to be son in correctional facility, the recording played mentioned son's name, spoken by someone who sounded like son.  They requested press 1 to accept charges, pressed 1 they hung up.  Called back.  Voice on other end said "correctional facility" and hung up.  All phones on no call list.  This one was removed somehow, not by me. ATT alerted.
