My technique is simple.  I listen to them and chew up their time for 15 minutes or so.  I ask them to repeat their terms and so forth.  When I get  tired of playing the game (it can be  fun for a while), I tell them I just chewed  up their time like they were going to chew up mine and I am not interested.

Alternative: Keep asking them if they want a haircut and why are they calling you if they don't want a haircut.

These jerks just called.  I should tell them to look up their number and see what's being written about them.  You can't opt out.  They don't have to abide by our rules.  Wonder if anybody ever falls for their scams.

Why aren't the phone companies canceling and blocking phone service to these spamming creatures?

Recording sounding like a sex phone line

man claiming to be from toledo edison and wanted to give us a 'free engery kit'. When asked who is funding the engery kits he said the feds. I asked if we could get a credit for not accepting and he said 'that would be like going to mcdonalds and ordering food, paying and then leaving without taking the food.'

I responded with 'so, it's more like someone forcing me to buy a big mac without me wanting one'.

"yes" he replied.

I do recall a bill being passed in the state or maybe federal level that we would all be entitled to these new energy efficient light bulbs - it would only cost something like $8 per bulb once all was said and done. So years later, here they are! I wonder what will happen when these new bulbs start making their way to the landfill and break, leaking mercury.

Picked up the phone.  Silent.  Finally, I said "SPEAK!"  The caller replied, "I don't think so," and he hung up.

Oh man, you won't believe this, but I blocked these losers quite some time ago and happened to look at my phone log and these guys have called me about 50 times in the last 2 months.  Luckily, their computer talks to our computer and they don't get transferred to my phone or I'd be massively pissed off.  I feel for all of you who have to answer business phones all the time.  Luckily my company has a Virtual PBX that you can put phone numbers into and it blocks them forever more.

For Andoird smartphone users, download Mr. Number and set it to automatically hang up on all suspected spam.  Cut my crap calles by 2/3rds.  Just one more thing Android allows that iOS (iPhone) does not.

Called 5 times in two minutes.  No one answered every time. *blocked

Received a call from this number -- when I answered, there was a very long pause before they responded to my greeting.  Asked for the owner -- RED FLAG!  If they don't know who they should be speaking with, they don't need to talk to the owner!  I offered voice mail, which the caller accepted, but I doubt they left a message -- they usually don't -- I know darn good and well my employer does not want to be bothered talking to telemarketers.

Just got a call from this number but there was nothing; just dead air and then a hang up. As a office assistant that answers the phones, this is irritating, to say the least.

Blocked number so that they can't harass any longer.

Called twice today, did not recoginze number so I let it go to voice mail.  Used redial to call it back, phone company said the number is no longer in service (recieved calls 5 min and two hours ago).  I have to conclude that this umber was hi-jacked for scamming purposed, and will ignore in the future.  My advice is to do the same.

We get calls from this toll free number a couple of times every week.  A guy claims he just got cut off with the owner, wants his cell number.  Once claimed to be a plumbing business we've never heard of, he hung up when we laughed at him!

They called asking to speak to our IT Dept.  We are a small company with no IT Dept., but they couldn't understand that concept.

Just received a call from this number...it came up as Toll Free Call on the caller id. When I receive calls like this, I usually answer and put it on mute. It took about 45 secs before they finally hung up. They might get the hint to not call back or they might just keep wasting their time.

Continually calling my place of business with no one on the other line. At least three times a day.

This phone number called me twice. I returned the call since I didn't recognize the number, then received a non-working phone recording. Checked it online and saw others reporting this same phone number.

Keeps calling day and night, night and day with continued mix call back information. Easy to indentify that they are scam people.

That phone's been calling me twice a day this week. I never answer. Very annoying though.

Said he was from Met Ed and needed to ask me some questions before sending me their free energy saving kit. This guy had many questions and I kept saying it was none of Met Ed's business.  I finally hung up on him. When I called the number back I got a "phone no longer in service" message.

Tried to call number back, verizion said number no longer in service, yet they called and I didn't reconize the number, so I didn't answer it.

i did the same...No more calls from them...
