When the company that is sending a debt collector after you forgets that the ill was paid and you have a PAID IN FULL RECEIPT from the company then what?  When I took my daughter to the hospital when she was 17 and still covered under military care from the Cleveland Clinic hospital - I still got a $608.00 bill.  We paid the $12.00 co-pay from the start and when she checked in I stood right there and gave the receptionist the medical Champus card.  We still got a bill and she is covered under Champus and Tr-Care military until she is 21.  So explain that.

Every situation is different so sit yourself on your high horse, pull the reins tight and BE QUIET.

For those silly enough saying "pay your debt"... Is it ever that simple!!? I'd like to point out a few things. I had a debt with US Bank that was created because of THEIR mistake back in 2006. I noticed after moving that they never cleared it up as promised. I cleared it up then (again) and moved on. Exactly one year layers received a call from a debt collector. To my astonishment, US Bank never cleared it up the second time either. So, I went through the hoops with US Bank, once again (a year later), and cleared it up. One year later, ANOTHER creditor called. Clearly I was pissed by this point. I fought for DAYS with US Bank and got it cleared up. TWO years later I got a call from yet ANOTHER creditor with this exact scenario you all are reporting. Obviously, it sounded scamish so I didn't pay anything, sent them a legal document and called US Bank. TODAY, five years later I got a call from a company with this exact same scenario again called Credit Star Finance or Alliance (I've forgotten at this point). Knowing what I do I told her to enjoy her day, in not so choice words, and started doing some research. A couple years ago my boyfriend actually paid one of these idiots prior to talking to me... Again, same scenario as we've all experienced. Here's what I am finding more disturbing than these scam artists, what's US Bank's roll in this kind of behavior?!? My problem, as well as my boyfriends, with US Bank was an error on THEIR end due to a fee for a fee etc etc etc that led to hundreds of dollars, which is completely illegal. So, friends, I ask you all, what can we do to US Bank? Clearly, not only do they have bad banking manners and illegal, but apparently they are leaking information to unethical companies. I think this goes beyond the creditors. If anyone is interested in contacting me to possibly begin a class action lawsuit, please email me at doris.zurlo@gmail.com

I've been recieving calls several times a day by my cell blocks them. Until I read this, I did not make the connection. In 2004 I had a dispute with US bank over overdraft charges. I, too, thought they just wrote it off and now I read others are getting the same. If their calling your cell try the app "Mr. Number." Very effective. Wish they made it for landline. :)

Our client got a call from PMCW and was instructed to contact 'lead investigator' Murphy. I attempted to contact the individual who identified himself as lead investigator Murphy, I informed the individual who answered the phone that our law firm represent Mr. X, our office have a POA and to put me through. I asked for lead investigator Murphy first name I was informed it was Brian. I was on hold for an unacceptable amount of time and terminated the call. I called again 2 hours later - This time I went straight to voice mail for Mike Murphy 'lead investigator'.

PMCW if you p**sies are legit then you don't mind providing your business license and/or debt collection license number. Granted some states do not require a collection license, but you still need to register with the business bureau. Even better provide your FEIN ID.

I got a call from these guys last month and it scared me to death. Here's how it shook out for me.

My mom called me and told me that a message had been left for me on her cell phone regarding an important investigation, and a case number and 1-800 number to call back. Panicked, I called the number. The person who answered the phone didn't answer with a company name. When I asked for one they refused to provide it, saying the would simply direct me if I had a case number. That was where I started to get suspicious.

I was transferred to Christopher Johnson, the "Director of Case Management" at PCMW in Fullerton, CA. He advised me that I was going to be sued over a bad debt to US Bank in 48 hours unless I settled the account immediately. The debt was about $1000, and he claimed I would be sued for $2500. He claimed a legal notice had been mailed to my former address, which having family there, I told him never came. He said there was nothing I could do to stop the legal proceedings unless I could pay the money up front. I told him that wasn't possible, but could make very small payments to keep things running without the courts. He refused, saying the amount was too little. At this point I was still operating under the clueless assumption that this was legit. I wasn't going to give someone my debit card number though.

I asked him to mail me a letter regarding the debt, which he initially refused. After continuing to assert I could not pay the settlement, and that I had previously received no notice, he changed his tune. He said he could "put my file at the bottom of the stack" for 30 days, at which point I would need to pay or face legal action. I told him I needed it in writing, and gave them my current address (which I now feel was a bad idea, and won't do again). I did actually receive a letter, with their phone number and address, and I started saving money.

I have been exerting a great deal of effort to pay off all of my debts, and get control of my finances using Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. I was reading one of his tweets this morning about illegal debt collection, and suddenly something clicked in my brain. I pulled out the letter they sent me, and started Googling. Sure enough I stumbled upon complaint after complaint about scams by PCMW with stories identical to mine. Out of curiosity and anger I looked up their address on Google Maps. Oh look, it was a dilapidated storefront in a shady looking shopping center full of liquor stores, and payday loan shops.

Combining what I've learned in my financial counseling with the ammo this site has provided I contacted US Bank directly. They gave me the number for their collection department, and I will setup payments to clear this debt with them or the actual collector who purchased the debt tomorrow. I am convinced at this point that it's definitely not PCMW I owe the money to.

I was almost taken in by this scam because of their skill at illiciting an emotional response from me. I'm hoping that my story will help someone else avoid being scammed by these punks, and settle their debt with the actual debt owner. We owe what we owe, but we don't have to be a victim of scammers trying to steal what little we've worked so hard to have.

Good luck to you.

Ok so I hear all these complaints and I too question the legality behind PCMW.. I got a call from my Dad saying a guy named "Mark Thompson" told them there was a complaint against me. My dad gave me the 888 number and I reached a guy named Steve Smitts, he transferred me over to Mark but I lost service (my fault). I call back and talk to Steve, who says he was the operations manager. He was actually very polite and I didn't mind talking to him because I do owe to Us Bank from a charge off in 2009.. He explained everything to me about being removed from check systems and how they will work with when I am able to pay. He said I had to pay a courtesy payment for a third of the price and I told him I cant possibly do that now but can on the so and so date, he said yes I can honor that. I then asked him for papers claiming the legality of them owning my debt.. He, no questions asked, sent me proof via email attachment and also sent a hard copy via mail per my request, which I have yet to receive because it has only been a day.. I have had a very positive experience thus far but have been looking online and have become scared. I still have 2 weeks to cancel my debit card before the payment goes through and I plan on calling Us Bank directly to get to the bottom of it. In the email/settlement letter they listed my old Us Bank account number so I am getting mixed thoughts... Have no idea what to think

US Bank told me the same thing when this PMCW place called demanding money saying I would have a misdemenor and US Bank was suing me. I filed a police report. US Bank said to only deal with them directly and to not give anyone money but US Bank. The policeman who took my report called the PMCW place and they stated US Bank gave them my info. but when he asked WHO at US Bank gave it to them they could not tell him.

My husband received a call from PCMW today. He owes US Bank for an overdraft. We will pay it, similar to one other commenter it was an issue with a change of address and just letting things slip through the cracks. However, like many people on here have mentioned, I would recommend against paying it through this company. And to address the concern that because people owe a debt this company is in the right as its just doing its job---I'd like to point out that today, in a single call to my husband, they violated a federal preliminary injunction. A federal judge has ordered them to stop making collection calls in which they pretend to be process servers who need to deliver legal papers, stop threatening lawsuits, and to stop threatening to garnish wages.  See  Federal Trade Commission v. Rincon Mngmt. Servs. LLC. et al, C.D. Cal No. 11-01623.  In this suit the FTC is suing Pacific Management Recovery, LLC, among others, and currently PMR's assets are frozen and subject to a receivership.  We will call US Bank directly to settle this, and I would recommend against settling with the collection agency because its fee is contingent upon how much they recover, so you can not know the actual amount that the original creditor would be willing to accept.

PMCW 31500 Grape St, Suite 3160-20 Lake Elsinore, Ca 92532

They are also known as: WFS/ Process Verification

In addition, Google maps traces the address to a mall in a Wal Mart, which lists this company at that location:

Riverside County Process Service?
31500 Grape Street #3-135
Lake Elsinore, CA 92532
(888) 758-0824
http://www.riversidecountyprocess.com/

Found numerous complaints of harassment stemming from this number, plus when people pay with credit card or debit card this company starts making unauthorized charges until the card limit is hit or the account is drained. They also threaten wage garnishment, which is not lawful without a court judgement. This company may have picked up a debt but their collection techniques are in violation of laws. Anything done with this company should be handled through an attorney, because there are too many complaints of this company not adhering to anything they agree to.

In addition, within minutes of their calls, some people complain of a follow up call from the Internet Fraud ID Unit acting like they are a police agency trying to seek your personal information, social security and card numbers to investigate if you have been the victim of ID theft.

Now the name is "Michael Moore" who says he is trying to serve legal documents and wants to make an appointment to come out to the house. I'm going to be out of town. He got uppity and I hung up on him. Within seconds every phone and cell phone started ringing from him. Note that some of these numbers show up as Private Number, so they are capable of masking their number. Our policy is to never answer anything showing up as a Private Number so they're not fooling anyway in this house with that ploy.

This all stems from US Bank stealing money from my account and then trying to get more. I'm working on a complaint with the state attorney general's office and will make a supplementary complaint and add these clowns too.

"There should be a law ...."

You mean like this one?
http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpajump.shtm

I wouldn't fart around with a class action, which tends to turn into a showboat trial that enriches only the lawyers. If you have solid FDCPA violations you get only a year to make your tormentor pay. Medical issues exaggerated by a collector's illegal bullying can become rather nice actual damages above the statutory $1K.

These people called me back in Sep stating I owed money for a particular debt.. Creeped me out and I verified the debt.. I scheduled payments and made to.. Needless to say I set up this great identity protection which sends my credit report monthly. I found this particular debt on my credit report and called the original owner of the debt. This debt had been transferred twice to two different collection agencies, and get this..... The last collection agency actually filed judgement against me for the debt. I contacted HRNE and their response was that they couldn't believe it. How could this company file judgement against me for a debt they owed.. Big Scam.. I was played. People please don't fall for this. Looked up the number they gave me and the address cam back to HHG in Corona, California. This company calls themselves HRNE but the automated answering service says PNCW.. Really.. Get a real job..

I was routed to a Tony Padilla.   I have a lot to say about how unprofessional he was - used subtle threats and finally told me that "America had made me bitter and I should return to my own country".  He was disgusting!  Would not reveal who his company was.... but wanted my husband's social security number and a credit card/debit card number.   Is this even legal?  He threatened that a police officer would be calling to issue a subpoena TODAY!!!!  Want to get to the bottom of this.   So wrong on so many levels.

My husband and I received multiple calls from this number a "mark thompson' and they gave a case number...it was a very important message!  So I called them to see wassup.   Was transferred to a "Tony Padilla" (yeah right) and he promptly informed me about monies owed to US Bank.  I started to question him and tried to get me to confirm the last four digits of my husband's social!  No way was that going to happen but the conversation proved interesting.  After I refused to give him a credit card number and /or debit card number he started to become threatening (very subtle - but threatening).... started to use words like"Misdemeanor infraction" and threatened that a subpeona would be served TODAY!   Hmmn.
The amount was so little so I questioned him about small claims court.  He did not have a reasonable answer....tried to backpeddle and talk around the issue.  I had told him I was from another country and had been here 20 years.  Told him that my husband and I were the 99 percent and were good people and trying to work with the system.  He actually had the gall to suggest a famous city in my country of birth (with all the swagger of someone who knew my country) and then mentioned a restaurant?  WTF?  and then told me that the city he mentioned was right next to another landmark that was so incorrect it was beyond laughable!   I corrected him but he actually said ...'You are from that country...America has made you bitter...why don't you go back?".   I calmly informed him that he was on record!   It is sad and sick, beyond pathetic and spiritually deficit!

I got the call last night and it seemed 'fishy' since we do not owe anybody any debts.  I had my son investigate and he reported that it is in fact a scam.  They try intimidation.  It is a really lowlife organization that will do this.  If you work all day, you won't get the call til late in the evening.  It will be too late to call that same day so you don't sleep that night wondering what it's all about.  Hope their number is coming up.  I can see how they can swindle senior citizens out of their hard earned money.  Shame on them!

How can PMCW own debts that never existed in the first place?   Nobody has the right to sue on a fraudulent debt.   Clearly paying ones'  bills is no obstruction to attempting collections by PMCW.  By the way, when was the last time PMCW successfully sued anyone in a real court of law?    PMCW seems to back off the second their bluff is called by anyone.   I think the best defense against PMCW when they call threatening law suits is to say "See you in court."    The last thing they want to face is a judge that might  ask serious questions about actual title to the debt, statute of limitations, adequacy of service (meaning none) , numerous FDCPA violations and appropriate licensing requirements in the state the collection is attempted.     Fear is their only weapon.

You obviously had a very positive experience with PMCW.   You had a debt; they assisted you in clearing it up and problem solved, end of story.   So what brings you to 800Notes?   You just happen to drop put of the blue with your inspiring tale to help us all by pure coincidence?   How did you even find this thread since you obviously  have no reason to come here in the first place?    Just trolling the internet to help PMCW with your remarkable story just because you love them so much?    Strange how you and "others" just happen to pop out of nowhere with positive tales of your good friends at PMCW.
