Yes, suing would be wonderful but how the heck do you get a valid address or defendant named in a Complaint. I've traced an IP address from an email they sent me to Rock Hill, SC, the Internet carrier is someone called Comparium but how do I get the personal information needed? I can prove the statements made to me and my family and my former employer were fraudulent, slanderous and threatening but what can I do about it?

How do I go about placing a complaint.

We've been receiving these calls since obtaining our phone number two years ago. I did some homework and found that our number is one digit off from the person who apparently took out a payday loan and this group is trying to scam him out of it.
In the most recent call, which came 03/16/2012, "Agent Crystal Brown" gave the same threats as listed above and mentioned a two-hour window to call (888) 324-0314 to arrange payment before being arrested. I called the number, gave the reference code, and was put in touch with "Jenay" at ACS. I toyed with her for a while and even told her that they had the wrong number, and she just became more irritable. I mentioned that I've contacted the FTC in the past, and that I will again, after reading these things on the internet, and she replied "oh, you don't really just believe what you read on the internet, right"? I asked to speak to her boss (she mentiond his name was T. Stone) but, not surprisingly, he wasn't available.
Jenay finally hung up on me. As she mentioned she was in the legal department, I decided to call back to see if she was the only one there. She was. In the second call, she became irate and hung up.

I got an unknown call and the lady left a message by the name of agent Jane stating that she will have court papers ready to summon me @ home or employer. She left me the number 888-324-0314 and I called back around 5PM and the line was busy for about 6 seconds and automatically hung up. I also call them back around 5AM and still did the same thing beeping noise and hung up.

I got a call yesterday from a "Agent Katrina McDaniels" from the same number 888-324-0314. Threating me with Law Enforcement and everything else. Saying I was Defrauding a Financial Institute. I called the number back and Mr. Stone answered.. I know this is a scam.. So I've been trying to get any information on these people that I can so I can figure out what to do. They have never once said to me how much money they seem to think that I owe them. And they also gave me a name of a Bank I've never even banked at. I got my identity stolen a few years back, and I cant help but wander if these are the same people. Anyways,,, I hope these people get what's coming to them..

Received a msg from them today. I've worked years in a debt collection law firm (not my proudest days). Nonetheless, I know FDCPA law. My husband knows to talk to me about any calls he gets from collectors. Received a msg from Paige Williams witht he same "i'm a process server trying to serve you papers.....good luck" msg. I had him call the company to get validation of debt. Lady argued about it and then hung up. Called back, talked to a "supervisor", asked for validation. Stated they would only send it via email. Letter received was a generic request for payment/settlement letter. Not validation of debt. Called back to get address and they refused it. Working now to find the address and send certified letter for validation of debt.
FYI....Do not just ignore these debt collectors. Tho I know its a pain in the rear to talk to them, if they break FDCPA Law, you can sue for $1000 per violation and damages. For example, if you send a certified letter requesting validation of debt and they fail to provide this within 30 days. They are legally no longer aloud to collect on the debt. If they attempt to, you can sue. If they threaten you, or pretend to be "law enforcemnt", you can sue. Look up the FDCPA laws and teache these people a lesson.

As I was looking back over the "settlement" offer from ACS, I realized that the "account"numbers were all in succession! And while I do not owe the same amount as others on the board, I some how manage to owe the exact same amount for all 3 companies and there is no record of me making not one payment! I am so glad to have found this and other boards and if anyone EVER brings a class action suit against these sad misguided fools, PLEASE let me know!

I just got a call from a Ms.Gomez. This started because I called them back regarding supposed "defrauding of a financial institution" I had committed. The only reason I called back was because my identity was stolen last week and I thought this might have been in connection with it. Things started to get fishy when they could not tell me the name of the bank. I spoke with 3 different people who gave me 3 different amounts of what I could pay and all I had to do was give them my debit card number! What part of identity theft do you not understand. I told them that I would call them back and then I jumped on the internet! I have alerted the FBI and my state general attorneys. They can call me all they would like, but it is not going to work. The high interest fees that they charge should be more than enough to cover the cost of the loan!

I also spoke with a Courtney, very short, abrupt tone.

ACS has left messages with my ex sister in-law, my ex-husband and his new wife! These lunatics are claiming to recover a debt for a payday loan. I asked for proof and they EMAILED a generic letter with only an ACS logo, email address and toll free number 888-216-8123.

A person had called for my husband saying he was being served a active court summons for check fraud. Her name was Kayla and she left a number 88820782037 to contact them and if they did not receive a response within a hour that a cop would be showing up at our door. Since August of 2011 we have received 4 calls saying we owe pay day loans anywhere from 1000 dollars to 500 dollars. My husband keeps paying these loans because they are threatening to file felony charges on him and put him in jail! I am not sure what exactly to do about this

My sister in law called me today to tell me that there was a message on HER parents' phone for me from this phone number. Company name is ACS. After reading these comments, I think it is probably a scam. The message stated that I would be served papers at my place of employment, just like with Number is blocked. These people try to scare everyone, but having worked with an outbound calling company for the last 4 years, just to inform everyone, it is illegal for them to call anyone other than you, and it is illegal to threaten legal action, first to anyone's answering machine, and second, to threaten it at all without identifying themselves, and trying to resolve the issue beforehand. This number is false, and a scam. Tell them that you are pressing harassment charges, and suing them for slander, and they will leave you alone. DOn't let them scare you! They do not have a leg to stand on!!!

In response to your post about Kim Washington. She also goes by Allison, Courtney, etc. I love the "good luck", she is so unconvincing. File complaints with the FTC, FBI and Attorney General. The FBI has information about this scam on their fraud page.

They say they are going to serv you and you have one hour to call them back. I have been told this now for over a month. Do not give them any info as it is a scam. They will not send a letter as I have asked for proof of debt. They say they are a green company and will only send a email. They sound like they are in America.
